  1. God pulled a miracle out of his ass and gave Brat the win (according to Brat.) LONG LIVE IMAGINARY FRIENDS! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  2. Never fear, I got her covered in post #13. Always on your side of the fence, Jeanne "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  3. So I'm guessing that math was not your strong suit in school. And the other 75%???? Weird, JerryBaumchen Along with spelling. Weird, considering he claims to had been an honor student. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  4. You are correct. This poll shows that 75% of the people prefer to make up their own minds. The other 25% prefer to be sheeple glued to Faux News. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  5. Actually it sounds like the process has failed. Certainly out of the 40 million uninsured there would be more people that became ill besides three a day. But those 40 million still would've had access to the ER even without the system...It seems the only difference is that now, they have to pay premiums and high deductibles without the subsidies. What's the problem? DO . . . NOT . . . INTRODUCE LOGIC - IT IS FUTILE! Well, I guess my point is that there are ups 'n downs to both sides...would the right be happier if they had to foot the bill without the patient premiums/deductibles? Apparently the right is happy when its supporters like Mary Brown go without health insurance because they don't think they need it, and then when they do get sick they stiff their doctors because they can't pay their bills. Like I said, there are ups 'n downs...What's the point of paying premiums only to avoid the doctor because you can't afford the deductible? She gets $275.00 a month in unemployment! She should pay up and stop being a fucking hypocrite. Oh, wait, she's a conservative... probably gets food stamps also. Normal behavior on the right. Maybe should had been better at repairing cars than screaming about having to pay their bills. She gets what she deserves. 6. I guess It was the way Zimmerman was treated by the left and He was proven innocent and is still thought to be guilty So you have no point here Did YOUR personal hero kill a young man or not??? George Hanson to Wyatt and Billy (Easy Rider): ...You can get out of here, if you haven't killed anybody - at least nobody white. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  7. Awesome! Congrats! My granddaughter was 7 weeks early. She's getting on towards one year old now. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  8. Wow, you've fought wars on your own soil. I'd forgotten how unique that makes you in global society! If only there'd been a clue... Don't forget, we bailed your sorry asses out in WWII against the Germans. And like I mentioned earlier, we haven't sent soldiers over there to kill them, but we sure as HELL sent some over to save their ass. Your grasp of history is tenuous to non-existent. RAF had already WON the Battle of Britain and Hitler had cancelled invasion plans on 17 September 1940, 3 YEARS before the first US troops set foot in occupied Europe. There was never any risk at all of a Nazi invasion of Britain after 18 December 1940 (Hitler's Directive No. 21). Even you will recognize that this pre-dates 7th December 1941. Hollywood historians!!! This may help him out. http://www.secondworldwarhistory.com/united-states-ww2-events-timeline.asp http://www.secondworldwarhistory.com/britain-ww2-events-timeline.asp The U.S. basically sat back and watched until Pearl Harbor was attacked. 9. He crossed the border with three fully loaded weapons (rifle on passenger seat, shotgun behind driver seat, pistol in the driver's door pocket and, more than 400 rounds.) If this were to be the case for this guy, well then sure. All first time offenders get a get out of jail free card. Should all first time drug offenders get a free pass back to the U.S. for being busted for a small amount of pot? I'm 100 percent sure that Fox News and their loyal sheeple would care less for them and be the ones to build the scaffold and tie the noose. If this person were just some every day Joe ( which in reality he is) Fox News and the sheeple would turn their backs on him as they do with more than 6000 Americans http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2011/10/04/vienna_convention_consular_relations_iran_hikers I spent nearly a year (mid 1993 to June 94) in Mexico doing an ultrasound/induction inspection on the entire Mexican railroad. I became well aware of the consequence of messing up (even a simple mistake will cost you dearly.) I have tested rail passed one of the worst prisons in Mexico. It was a place in the middle of nowhere. Just the sight of it gave ya reason to mind your p's and q's. A couple of years ago in Mexico, one of our drivers hit a drunk man who fell onto the tracks. He was cut in half by the rail car. That guy spent near a year in jail. The company paid big fees to attorneys to secure his freedom (he quit the company upon his return.) The truth came out that he was not responsible for the drunk mans death. He was set free. If this guy did make a simple mistake, I suspect the truth will set him free. If he had other intentions, he fucked up. I hope he really did just make a wrong turn. I really cannot believe that someone would try and cross the border with guns in the open for all to see. If he did have bad intentions, then he will get what Mexico's laws will give him. Our government needs to be very careful on this as nearly 7 out of every 10 foreigner in U.S. prisons is a Mexican national. Most are in for illegal crossing followed by drug offense. http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d11187.pdf "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 10. Does anyone on this board or anyone at all outside the government know what is actually being done? I doubt it. I really do suspect that the Department of State are taking the proper channels to bring this man home. I know, some believe they should go in with guns blazing. However, this is a delicate situation. To piss them off would be the end of this Marine. Some folks should really bite their tongues and just shut up (Fox news.) 11. Economic Left/Right: -5.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.46 "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  12. So Chuck, do you believe that only Marines should be free to go into other countries and violate their laws with impunity, or does that "right" apply to all Americans? How would you feel about foreigners who come into the US, violate our laws, then claim immunity because they served in their country's military? Should we give a pass to all those illegal immigrants you're so concerned about, if they can prove they served in the Mexican military in the past? Don Why was he driving around with three loaded weapons (pistol in the door pocket, rifle on the passenger seat and, shotgun behind the seat) and, more than 400 rounds? It has been reported that he was being treated for mental instability (fear that he was being targeted by the government.) This guy needs help. He had attempted to slit his throat with a broken light bulb after being detained (reason he was restrained to a bed to prevent him from harming himself.) Obvious there is more to this story that is not being told. He has been able to call his mother and had told her that he is being treated fairly and believes that he will be released. I hope that he comes home soon and is able to get the help that he badly needs to resolve his issues. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  13. And like I mentioned earlier, we haven't sent soldiers over there to kill them, but we sure as HELL sent some over to save their ass. And because Americans (and by Americans, I mean you guys personally) saved the entire nation of Great Britain from the evil Germans, all British and the rest of the world should be in awe of Americans, on their knees licking the soles of your boots clean. USA #1! No need to lick the soles of my boots (that's just gross.) A spit shine will do just fine, thank you kindly. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  14. WOW, glad that I will never need your support. http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/06/politics/bowe-bergdahl-release/ If he did, in fact, desert, the truth will come out. In the meantime, the real face of many in this country has been revealed. Hang him???? WTF? We are suppose to be a country that follow the rule of law, not a country that condemns based on what Fox news spews from their high and almighty pulpit. As a veteran, myself, I feel that a deserter should be tried under the UCMJ, if found that the person did desert. Until it is proven, I will not join the chorus of condemnation. That is not the American way. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  15. And so did the U.S. under Ronald Reagan. Reagan supplied the Taliban with cash and weapons. Only he loved to call them "Freedom Fighters." Much as he did with the drug running Contras http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB2/nsaebb2.htm Old Ronnie Brain Dead went as far as to sell arms to Iran! The sea of hypocrisy is deep. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  16. Much would had been the same if Anwar Al-awlaki had not been killed in the drone strike and had killed Americans. The conservatives would had claimed that Obama was at fault for not getting the terrorist. Instead, they sniveled that he killed an American (so much hypocrisy.) Hell, they were pissed off that Bin Laden was taken out under Obama's watch. Obama just can't win with the GOP. Hell, the guy could cure cancer and they would find reason to complain. All of this bullshit talk that we are now less safe abroad. No different now than it was after Bush invaded a country that did not poise any threat. Said it would be a cake walk and we will be much safer! Freaking funny!!!! Bush gave them a training ground to hone there skills. If or when the five dirtbags return to their dirt hole country, I suspect they will be visited by a drone with a special delivery. Of course, the republicans will balk at that also. You might want to rethink that or, safer yet, not think at all! http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2012/09/tin-foil-hats-actually-make-it-easier-for-the-government-to-track-your-thoughts/262998/ "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 18. Made possible by the blood of Americans and supporters of America. No fucked up god of the delusional had anything to do with it. If you think Fucked up News really supported Bergdahl, let's go back to when they suggested that the Taliban just kill the guy. Where was the outrage? There was none on your side. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xezi8wAGZZc "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Wonder if they take payment via drone? "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  20. I seem to recall a suicide some years back committed by a jumper who was known for jumping with a dog. If I am recalling right, he was arrested for molesting children. Not sure what ratings he held. Point is, you never really know about anyone. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  21. Exactly, a gun is nothing more than a tool. It is no more different in this way from a car. A gun is an extension to our hands as a car is to our feet. I can easily kill a person with my hands but, far easier with a gun. I can easily walk a mile for a Camel but, far easier to drive. Responsibility? Apparently he showed enough responsibility to get a driver's license as well as a gun. One only need to scan the many times similar acts have been committed. Those guilty have ranged in ages from the teens to the very elderly. These people were responsible, law abiding citizens. Or, so they may appear to be but, many of these people had exhibited odd behavior. Such is the case with this guy. Yet, had someone tried to deny him his right to own a gun the NRA and the GOP would had stood strong behind him (recall the schizophrenic who talked to imaginary bears, John Rich, are you out there?) up until he started shooting. The question is, how do you sort them out? Who should be denied a gun. You are denied for a felony conviction. Problem is most of these types of killers have never even had a parking ticket. Often is the case for most everyday people who just kill another for whatever reason. The only solution is to narrow the laws. Scrap the bad and refine what works. As for the knife and car? It is weak to even compare with a gun. True that you can kill just as easy with either or you can just pick up a rock and bash someones brains out. Should this guy been denied the privilege to drive? He surely was a ticking bomb, as he had shown. Yet, he hadn't committed any crime. There are many ticking bombs out there. Some will explode, some will never. You just can't start taking away certain items due to what one may consider odd behavior. Is there a criteria somewhere that we should be aware of. What do take away? I can see that a gun should be taken from those who exhibit intent to harm but, what about the person who thinks he's Jesus? What about a car. Sure, Jesus would have no need for a car but, what about JFK (as long as it's not a convertible). The person who shows intent? There are a lot of people who are angry but, never act. And what about that knife? I bought my Kabar 1081 when I was around 8 or 9 years old. I still carry it today. Carry it everyday. I could do real damage with a two inch blade, up close. Much easier with a gun a few feet back. Knifes are easy to get. So easy an 8 year old kid can buy one at the Ben Franklin five and dime. Yup, some people should never drive, some should never touch sharp things and some should never touch a gun, some should never touch any type of tool. We just never know when someone will use them to kill. In this case, he used the three tools that echos in every argument on gun rights. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  22. Actually, it appears that the law worked just fine. He purchased the weapons legally. They were registered in his name. He has never been hospitalized for his mental illness therefore, he was not on the list. Is this not what the NRA and the GOP wanted? Protect the rights of the mentally ill to own guns? How is it that someone like this, who is known to be a danger, legally buy a gun? All of the warnings were there. Another Loughner. Sadly, it will happen again and again and again... 23. Having to be in Mississippi for the next 3 to 4 weeks (doing an inspection on Kansas City Southern rail) kinda has me wishing that I had brought a gun! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  24. Given your replies in this thread, it seems to me, that you respond without clearly thinking your response through. Somewhat emotional or, desperate. I was merely wondering if you think it would be appropriate to smash a dog (that has, maybe, killed a child) over the head with a baseball bat, oppose to gassing or lethal injection. If not, how could you wish a painful death on another? I will agree that there are those who do deserve the worst type of death. Yet, how can we, as civilized people, lower ourselves to the primal level of one who kills for pleasure? Would you revel in the role of the executioner? Personally, I am for the death penalty. As long as it is 100% certain that the right person is being put to death. However, there are one too many who have been wrongly executed. One is one too many. Every possible effort should be exhausted before we push the needle in, otherwise we become the killer of an innocent person. I would not wish to be the one who flips the switch only to find out that I just murdered an innocent man. Would you? Method that I would prefer for those who are guilty without doubt would be to merely put them to sleep. Justice served. If America wants to continue with executions then, we really have no say when other countries execute prisoners. You know we are in the company of some of the worst and the only country in the Americas that still execute people. http://www.amnesty.org/en/news/death-penalty-2013-small-number-countries-trigger-global-spike-executions-2014-03-27 I sure hope all 39 were guilty. If only one was wrongly executed then we are no better than the ones who are guilty. Society as a whole is guilty if we allow it to continue without conscious. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  25. Perhaps we should engage in a closer examination of the term "humane" and see if it is applicable. According to Mirriam-Webster, they have defined "humane" as marked by compassion, sympathy, or consideration for humans or animals. I take it that you prefer smashing a dog or cat over the head to humanely euthanizing them? Do you enjoy clubbing baby seals? I suspect that you enjoy pulling the wings off of flies and, probably, throwing puppies at brick walls. We're executing a person that has committed the most heinous crime: murder. Executions are not humane regardless of how you slice it. So essentially you want an execution that is a kinder, more gentle death. Ya... sounds good.
