  1. You could ask Mr. Etch-a Sketch Mitt Romney. His Romneycare is almost indistinguishable from ACA. That lie got blown out of the water upthread - should rightly be called "Patrickcare". Ummm, wut? First, I couldn't find the reference "upthread". But regardless, the Massachusetts health care insurance reform law passed the Mass. General Court (what we call our legislature) in 2006 and was signed by then-Governor Romney on April 12, 2006. Governor Patrick didn't even get the nomination to run as the candidate for the Democrats until September of 2006; he was elected Governor of the Commonwealth in November 2006. While I think Sal DiMasi (then the Speaker of the House) did a lot more to push it through the General Court, it's completely disingenuous (that's a polite way of saying bullshit) to give credit and/or blame to Gov. Patrick considering he wasn't in office until well after that.

  5. Ok And Obama said the AHA mandate was not a tax So they both are lieing Imagine that, polititions who lie Congress says it isn't a tax. Roberts says it is. He said she said. It got through the SC as a TAX Therefore it is a TAX No he said she said as it is what it has to be You are not entitled to your own facts So who is lying, Romney or Roberts? Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the Dems? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  6. As opposed to Mr. "It's not a tax"? Mr. "Your taxes won't go up"? Mr. "Unions get waivers"? *yawn* So your lie about a lie is blown out of the water. Nope. It's a tail, not a leg. So Gov. Etch-a Sketch Romney is a liar. OK. Less of one than Obama, that's apparent. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  7. Ok And Obama said the AHA mandate was not a tax So they both are lieing Imagine that, polititions who lie Congress says it isn't a tax. ROMNEY says it isn't a tax. Roberts says it is. He said she said. Verelli (Lead counsel for the gov't) said it was, too. "U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli used the phrase “tax penalty” multiple times to describe the individual mandate’s backstop. He portrayed the fee as a penalty by design, but one that functions as a tax because it’s collected through the tax code." Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

  15. I'm unsurprised that you consider a comedian a valid news source. Many a true word is spoken in jest. What EXACTLY did he say that is untrue? www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2012/mar/20/romneycare-and-obamacare-can-you-tell-difference/ Politifact sure can't, if they're saying the two programs are the same. Looks like there's plenty of difference between Romneycare and ObamaTAX. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

  18. Where in "Obamacare" do you loose the right to the same insurance plan you have now? Where do you loose the right to purchase any insurance plan you like? With the mandated coverages, you can't get a 'major medical' policy. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  19. Coverage for mammograms is part of the required package...even if you're a single male. Like MyPlate and the Bloomy drink bans, you mean? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  20. I'm sure that *you* think so. *You* DID it. Um, no. Nice try, though. Are you now claiming that it wasn't St. Ronald Reagan that gave amnesty to illegals in 1986? www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128303672 Nope, just your assumption that I was talking about Reagan when I made my post. *hint* I wasn't. 22. What's a normal electrocution? Incidents other than your 'electrocution by Taser'. I'd rather be tased than shot. Nope.... but it seems like you would argue the exact opposite, given your posts. I wouldn't be in a position to be tased by the cops in the first place, but using deadly force against one tends to get you dead in response. I think that they're an option, *IF* you have the time/ability to utilize it and the ability to escape before the attacker recovers. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  23. I know. Saying it may happen isn't the same as saying he'll do it nor it is telling other people to do it...but you already knew that before you made up the 'threatening to shoot people' bit. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  24. I believe the term used is "less-than lethal" and that term is used by the jack ass cops quick to taze the shit out of somebody for "non-compliance". I was hoping this thread was about banning cops from using these devices. Much better to be shot, I'm sure. Not at all. There can be, and often are, severe consequences if a police officer goes off half-cocked and shoots someone with a gun. All this "less-than lethal" and "non-lethal" talk has resulted in good knows how many instances of people being electrocuted for "offenses" like "not STFU when told too". Electrocuted? The cops are plugging extension cords into their Tasers now before using them? Must make it a bit difficult to patrol dragging those around.... or maybe you're being just a *bit* I don't understand why you would use that limited definition of electrocution Because it's the image that goes through people's mind when they see the word 'electrocuted'? I just connected it (see what I did there? ) to the Taser. Sorry, had a browser problem - that should have been "a *bit* hyperbolic". What percentage of total uses are the injuries/deaths, and how do they compare in relation to 'normal' electrocutions? Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
  25. Sorry, but today's SCOTUS ruling dealt that one a death blow. ACA is Constitutional. As a TAX and not a commerce clause mandate...and the states can't be penalized for ignoring it. What is the mechanism for collecting the fine? It sounded like it was collected via federal taxes. If so, the state isn't the one liable for paying, it's the individual. Tax penalty is on individuals... states can't be penalized for not enacting O-care, as originally stated in the law. Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
