  1. Hello. Will someone with a container that is fitted with dynamic corners please post photos (close ups) on how the corners look and work. Thanks Respect my authoritah!
  2. Hello, I would like to start with wing suit jumps. Please see if you can help me with the following newbie questions: 1. What is the recommended pilot chute and bridle setup? a.) Length of bridle b.) Size of pilot chute c.) Mesh size of pilot chute d.) Is a hackey ok or should I use something else (I have heard that base jumpers advise against using a hackey) 2. I jump an Aerodyne Icon I5 container with a Pilot 150 main a.) Should I get mods to the container like cut ins on the closing flaps b.) Is the canopy OK for wing suits. Thanks Respect my authoritah!
  3. Hello, Anyone jumping a Sunpak 0.45x Wide Angle Conversion Lens. Please let me know what you think of it. Thanks. Respect my authoritah!
  4. I’m still waiting for my first reserve ride. Was wondering who has got the most jumps without ever taking a reserve ride. Respect my authoritah!
  5. Why is that? Respect my authoritah!
  6. The pilot is an awesome canopy. The openings are great and it flies really well. I battled a bit packing the canopy at first cos it’s a slippery bastard but got it right after a couple of tries (S-fold is the way to go). I also have the Smart Reserve, but I have never taken a ride on it. Respect my authoritah!
  7. Anyone knows of jumps in South Africa from a C-130 please let me know. Respect my authoritah!
  8. Thanks for you answers. Now for my next question: If you were asked to test a container on this criteria how would you do it? My best guess would be to hold the container upside down and horizontal and then hang weights on the bridal. Respect my authoritah!
  9. Hello, From my container manual: “The maximum force exerted by the bridle on the curved pin must not be more then 6 daN. For Safety the minimum force exerted must not be less then 4 daN." What is the unit daN ? Respect my authoritah!
  10. I have done about 20 jumps on my Icon now. Good points -------------- - As far as looks go you cant go wrong, it looks great. - The rig sits very well. - Rig is cypress ready (I think all new rigs are these days) - Easy to pack, the lines stow very neatly on top of the D-Bag - Window in bridal to show kill line (You can see easily if the pilot chute is cocked) - Hook knife included with the container - Stainless steel hardware - Very good price - Internal riser covers. - Features the miniforce system (“This patented new system actually addresses the engineering behind the three-ring release system and effectively reduces forces on the cutaway cable by an average of approximately 35% at any given loading”) - Great service from Aerodyne Other (personal preference if you like this or not) ----------------------------------------------------------- - The reserve and cut-away handles are positioned more to the side of your body and a bit more towards the chest. On my other rig (Vortex II) the reserve and cut-away handles sit a bit lower and more to the front of my body. In my opinion this is a good thing since it is more difficult for the reserve handle to get pulled accidentally (if you like jumping with silver) - The BOC is a bit on the tight side. Free flyers will like this. The not so good points --------------------------- - The rig material is softer than that of other containers. Im not sure how durable the material is. Only time will tell. - I have read a complaint that the leg straps slip. There is now a service bulletin for this. All the new rigs have modified leg strap so this should not be problem anymore. The bottom line ------------------- I can recommend it. Respect my authoritah!

  12. About jump 27, my first jump with my own rig. Im waiting to board the King Air when a senior jumper remarked ‘That’s not right’ pointing to my chest strap. When I looked I found that I had misrouted the chest strap. Round jump 40 I decided to mess around after a 2 way instead of tracking away. The other guy had the same idea and when I looked down I saw the he had done a feet-first and was now waving off just below me. Had to track like hell and dump in the track to miss him. Live and learn I hope. Respect my authoritah!
