The best thing you can do is extract yourself from the situation and they need to work things out on their own. This is an internal family crisis, and from the sounds of it, you're not really part of it, so extract yourself. Now, if you really do want to clean yourself up, props to you, but extract yourself as well, since it doesn't do them any good. As for the family, it's difficult for one to believe that a loved one is a drug addict, especially when they were so different not too long ago. Here's what I saw from the replies. (And also from my experience on ebay) First, a bit of background, I made a living off ebay for about three-four years and had well over 7000 feedback. Almost everything I buy, I buy from ebay. Vehicles, however, is different. If it's a dealer, I wouldn't be concerned about it. For the most part, they have to follow lemon laws, they'll have feedback, etc. If it's a person selling a one-off car, check it out before you make a bid. I bought a motorcycle when I was 17 off ebay without looking at it. I'm not going to go into the story but I ended up riding it for four hours, spending $400 to get it working again, and reselling it with an $200 loss (total $600).
