I have a Tempurpedic that I absolutely freaking LOVE. It has made a huge difference in the amount of pain I have since I fractured L5-S1. I hate sleeping on traditional mattresses now. That being said, I can't advocate accruing debt for a mattress. If you can't buy it outright, don't buy it is my view.

I'll take care of the cost of the vet, I'm just worried about taking in a puppy with serious long term health issues. Does anyone on here have any ideas of what breeds these cute little things might be?

Contact me..I could be talked into taking one of the pups if a vet clears them health wise, and I think my sister would take the other. I sent my phone number in a PM.

I'm taking my kids. Planning on getting there early to get a good viewing spot.

For my daughter who is turning 6 in a few weeks, we found a bakery that hosts parties. They each make the frosting, then decorate some cupcakes, etc. The birthday child gets an apron and some kid sized baking supplies. But that probably wouldn't go over all that well for a little boy. For my son's seventh and eighth birthday's, we have done laser tag parties at the local arena. Even the parents LOVE that one. Another thing I have seen done alot this year that hasn't been mentioned is a place called Pump-It-Up. I'm not sure if it is in your area, but it is essentially a warehouse with padded floors and 6-8 bouncy castles with a party area. It is great for tiring out the kids, and at your son's age, they just love bouncing and crashing into one another. At the school where my kids attend, it seems like everyone comes to the parties, Of 30 kid classes, usually there are 22-25 kids at parties. But it is a private school and it is very close knit. I would just suggest sending a "reminder" about the RSVP date so you can buy the right amount of food, etc.

Nope , and my kids don't have any grandparents either. My last grandparent died six years ago, and my parents have been gone for several years. My father never knew my daughter. My husbands parents and grandparents are gone too. My kids will never know the coolness of grandparents, and it is one of the biggest sources of sadness in my life.

I haven't jumped in nearly two years. The first year was due to a non-skydiving injury (broke my coccyx and L1 snowboarding). The second has been because I had just bought a new rig that doesn't have room for me to put a bigger main into so that I can upsize after having become so uncurrent. It will be a long time before I can jump my Pilot 150 again (jumping often enough to justify that size will be tough with my two rugrats), and the rig won't hold anything bigger, but I can't tolerate the idea of selling it after only jumping it @30 times before I busted myself. What's a girl to do?!

I had a hard time keeping my two believing this past Christmas. They are 7 and 5. Doubt kept creeping in for both of them and they would tag team me. Far too critical and clever for their own good. On Christmas morning my husband and the two kids got stockings stuffed with goodies. Of course, mine was mostly empty except for some misc. candy I had tossed in. My daughter, the 5 year old, asked me if my stocking was empty because I had been bad, or because I was really Santa. No good answer to that one, I tell ya!

I don't get them anything significant, but that is largely because their aunt always gets them something really cool. I send them a card, because they are still at the ages (8 and 5) where they love to receive mail delivered by the postman. Sometimes I will put stickers or a temporary tattoo in the card. The whole family gets a special dessert that night.

This March, my little boy had a high fever so we took him to his Dr. They looked at him, said it was likely a viral infection, and sent him home. While we were in the office, though, the Doc noticed a faint red rash all over his torso. By the time we got home, the Doc was calling, saying he had reconsidered, and that he wanted to meet us at the local Children's Hospital. We were taken right back, and he was tested for meningitis. Luckily, his test came back negative, but he was kept in the hospital for a week on IV antibiotics because his symptoms matched so closely and they had ruled out everything else. His Doctor sure wasn't going to fool around with a possible meningitis case.

I already did my PM and got the address. Now I'm working on the research to pick the perfect presents.

Thanks for offering! I just emailed them with what I need. As you can imagine, the need was great to draw me out of lurkdom , but I knew I could count on someone here being willing to help me out.

My darling husband assured me that he was capable of editing the background on two pictures that he took of me that were to be used in a company brochure. I am very dissatisfied with his results. Would anyone here be willing to photoshop the background out of two portrait type pictures and insert a plain background? If you can help, I'll send the pictures. They were too large to attach to this message. Thanks!
