So, is it a dummy chute or not? I thought dummy chute meant training chute, stuffed with foam -- not useable. If it had a canopy, then wouldn't that make it a legit, useable chute? So, what is it? This double talk gets so confusing. I wished the experts (in parachutes and skydiving) would jump in (no pun intended) more often and clarify when we're wrong and when we're not.

The note georger (IIRC) posted explains it. There are two types of chest mounted "dummy" reserve chutes. Foam packed, for body position drills etc, and canopy packed, for practicing the "Down and Away" deployment method. The note posted explains how the canopy in that second type of dummy would be modified to make repacking faster for more training rotations.

  • "Mr. Cline,

Thank You for your inquiry. Yes, we are aware of the webpage and its forum you mention.

No, there have been no leads from it that are pertinent to the case.

Yes, the Case is still an open and active case. There are no "front runners" as you mention, for a viable suspect.

It is true, we have had to apply our resources to more pressing and current cases, like the recent news you mention.

I will not go into details with you, but will agree with your assessment that the individuals you mentioned have not been helpful in solving the case and have had us moving in the wrong direction many times."

I just thought I would throw this out there, before CISPA become a law and all.

  • I hope it all works out.

If Duane was Cooper, then I hope the big holes in the theory will be detailed, if the FBI makes that their call.

If they can't, then we can never be 100% sure.

For me, there just isn't the evidence for it yet.

  • I"m beginning to think Knoss either hacked Jo's account, or they are now one and the same.:S

Robert B, I don't think your pull and extract from the stirs scenario bodes well for a seasoned, or marginally trained, Paratrooper, Smoke Jumper, or Skydiver.

Backing down the stairs seems like a person who has never jumped before. Plus, the hunched over comments don't seem to fit with my experience of 65lbs of chute on my back and 110+lbs of gear on my front, we tended to arch are back to try an stand up. Of course, Cooper didn't have that much weight on (That we know of) and would not be hunched by what weight he did have.

A side step might be the more appropriate method used, and has been discussed in Mil Working Groups as a good movement technique. At the bottom step, turn 90 degrees and freefall forward towards the tail.

Clear the A/C, 3 to 5 seconds, and pull, no need even to count. Exit, be stable, arch-look-reach-pull.

bruce, forget about being in competition with blevins. there isn’t any. he’s neurotic and facing little man syndrome. i’ve seen the DZ and its VERY evident. this so-called expert in everything who goes by 377 enjoys the roost. he knows nothing about db cooper. he’s just in the game to cause disharmony. that’s evident too. we know dormuth. no such thing that blevins states about mr. dormuth is true. dormuth is one of us and YOU are on the right path with the witness. keep digging. the truth will be shocking and its not coming from the DZ. you’re closer than you think. g’night.

The above has a lot of the earmark of both JT and Knoss.
Since Knoss has referred to the name Nichols before in irrational postings and in things he sent to me and told me on the phone.

The mention of Dormuth threw me a little there and made me think of someone who DOES not post to this thread.

The poster is trying hard to hide his ID and one of the crew came to mind along with our beloved Georger....I think this crew member and Georger may have talked over the yrs. The mention of Dormuth - is a key to the posters ID.

Galen Cook is also a good candidate for the post, because of his mention the TRUTH will be shocking and not coming from the DZ. Cook I believe reads the thread.

The statement "you're closer than you think" sticks out and tells me it could be Galen. No caps is an earmark of JT, Knoss and Cook.

Wonder if the co-pilot and Georger talk!

This is pure, unadulterated character assassination. How would you feel if someone only speculated publicly about your possible, alleged guilt? Unless you have proof or confirmation, you should not be doing this. It's so disrespectful, especially to those who have been publicly accused or humiliated and did nothing. I believe there is a law against this kind of thing. I'm not up the current laws, but the words slander and defamation of character come to mind. This kind of activity should have no place on this forum. It's a new low for sure.

You skip reading Knoss' posts then? I guess we should have all done that, when first entering this thread.:S

It's bad enough you have to get a permit to protest and exercise your right to free speech.

You don't. You, all by yourself, can stand on a soapbox in any park or street corner and protest all you want as long as that doesn't affect the flow of other people's traffic or business...knock yourself out. Totally free. I'd defend your right to do that to the death and so would the ACLU.

What you need a permit for is a parade or something else that fucks up the flow of traffic or requires additional police to to reroute said traffic or deal with the crowds.

And for any gathering in any public place. For the same reasons, LEO's needed to help keep the peace. It may be denied if your protesting a Politician already scheduled though.

  • There are three very visible and vocal politicians saying they have not ruled out confiscation yet.

Dainne, she will try that later, she says if she could do it now., she would.

Bloomburg and Cuomo in their recent press conference said confiscation is "not off the table". The conference announcing the Registration Program of every weapon in NY. This preceded their announcement for the new x-ray search tests, after their stop and frisks happened to be "struck down". (But that should be in another thread, if not already.)

If the AWB 2013 passes, there is Confiscation of your weapons upon your death, no handling them down, the Gov owns them then.

Maybe it is not being phrased the same way, but it is being said and pushed forward.

The forefathers used the word "Arms", not "Rifles and Pistols".

Our issue is the mental health treatment and criminal punishment systems not doing their part.

In this story there is a pick of the range complex, and a few facts that seem to support the theory that only the 3 of them happened to be on the range at the time.

He shot the two at ~3:30 then drove to his relatives and told them, they called the police, and the police respond at ~5:00.

  • Yes, it was/is a mental health issue.

3 people on the range, one with PTSD, and Chris and another trying to help him through it, by volunteering with him.

Added- The Police Dept Press Release alludes that at the time it was Just Chris, his work out/Training/Business partner, and the Vet with PTSD. They had happened to be on the range alone, working with the Vet as he has PTSD.

Sadly it appears the PTSD was far more reaching than what Chris was prepared for and the murder of two good men was the result.

This incident is not typical of actions at a Gun store or Shooting Range, but this incidents circumstance isn't typical either.

I hope the Prosecution get the Mental Health issue looked at, find out the "why", what caused him to "snap".

If any thing comes out of this incident, I hope it is for more work on treating the growing Mental Health issues in this country and across the world.

  • So, being curious by the MACVSOG/Advisor idea. I asked a former MACVSOG Soldier could one be "In Viet Nam" and not be?

His answer; "Yes" and he showed me a set of order showing him in the I Corp, as he showed me a picture in a photo album as part of a wedding party. Two locations, at one time, no leave forms or travel orders, just an assignment posting and a picture.

Today with the tech that may be a bit harder to pull off with out help.

    Hi Matt,

    That is what she says.

You may think that answered my question, but my question still stands.

If I remember correctly the Supreme Court upheld the previous ban. Ergo, I would think that they would uphold the next one.

I may be right; you may be right. Time will tell.

However, IMO to say that it would be unconstitutional is leap that I would not make.

    JerryBaumchen

Actually what she said in a taped interview that she wanted to do was: "If I could have banned them all - 'Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns' - I would have!"

How in the F is that constitutional, and how is she able to still stay in office? To me that is a blatant disrespect and attempted violation of the 2nd amendement. Alas her constituents reelected her.

    You are missing the point....

Individuals like you, and the senator, don't decide what is and is not constitutional in the United States.

    The Supreme Court decides that.

SO, if a previous restriction of the 2nd amendment was heard by the Supreme Court, and NOT found to be unconstitutional, then the only precedent on the constitutionality of restricting the 2nd amendment would show that it is in fact constitutional.

You might not think so, but you aren't the one deciding, so it doesn't matter.

Did the last ban get heard by the SCOTUS?

  • "Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all. That is not the America that our founding fathers envisioned. And that is not the America I want my children and grandchildren to live in."

Dianne Feinstein, Congressional Record for 1/24/2013 page S291.

She admits it will "override rights", aka; violate rights, aka; Unconstitutional.

It's truly amazing how all you Rambo wannabes are so frightened of a rather small, 79 year old lady from California.

She has stated, she knows it is in unconstitutional and will violate rights, but thinks it is OK, and since she was kind of successful before, and this time has another POTUS she has on her side, seems reasonable to be fearful of her misguided actions.

Then why are you calling little children varmints?

Either you have absolutely no sense and just further proved my theory or you're just trying too hard to be funny. Btw, that wasn't funny and completely immature to make all of those innocent children the butt of your joke.

Just to be clear, varmints: coyotes, bobcats, prairie dogs, rats..

I think you missed the point.

That gun can also be used, quite effectively, to kill people....including small children. Add that to your list.

Any gun can be used quite effectively to kill a grown adult, the AR-15 is no more lethal than Remington 750 rifle chambered in .223. What is the difference in the two? One is made of synthetic materials and looks cool.

The problem isn't the gun, it's the person behind the gun. I have absolutely no problem with making it more difficult for ALL guns to get into the hands of the wrong person.

Maybe it cant stop the full grown deer....but it has no problem destroying a 7 year old kid.

    That's what im talkin about!

    Step 1

Reduce levels from highest in world, to second highest in world.

Achieve this by stopping all manufacturing of firearms in the USA. Then offer a buyback of public firearms at some determined market value. Stiffen penalties for unlicensed firearms, and strip away all existing licenses. Those who wish to be legal can reapply and hope to get their guns licensed, those who want to become felons can roll the dice. As guns come into the LEO system, they are removed.

We are on our way after that Im pretty sure.

Id bet money we get down to 2nd highest in the world.

    Diane, is that you?
