  1. No, we use a standard open leg suit for our students. For some stueents we may do a bunch of jumps working on getting those legs out for a back slider, but we usually have video on all our students so it is some thing they can see in the de-brief. We do have them do several jumps with a bootie suit once through the "A" license proficiency to introduce the mto the Suit and the benifits of the mechanical assistance of Booties.

  2. Art,

You made the hard right instead of the easy wrong. I am sure all the rest of us who do demo's and the general skydiving community appreaciate your decision, I know I do.

  3. I think Diablopilot hit it with option two. Many jumpers drag the D-bag inadvertantly when coming back from the landing ao, also when laying out the rig on a hard packing surface.

    Just my opinion.:)

  4. Hey All,

Well there is along and grand history of the Ft. Campbell Sport Parachuute Activity. Unfortunatly the current world situation isn't going to allow the Ft. Campbell command to support it like they have in the past and would want for its future.

There are a few USPA GM DZ's not to far away, Tullahoma is actually near 2 hours away but a popular place to go. The DZ in Paris is temporarily closed.

Maybe we can get it up and running again in the near future wit ha concerted effort and with some modernization.

  5. It is a provisions issued by the FAA when the proper legal paper work has been done and obtained. The provision goes so far as to define a "hook" turn. It discusses axis, pitch, roll and altitude that that type of flying will not be conducted under.

Some of our newer canopies out here can be started into a "hook" turn above the minimum leval and still not recover in time if mis-judged.

  6. Partially Correct, only for a limited time can the Pres send troops into action, it takes a vote of congress to send the troops to a fight of duration. And the vote wedo have, even with Flip Flop The Back Stabber.

  7. But remember, the deficiet cycle is a few years behind. The current Pres is still working out from the clinton era, just like clinton had to work out from the Bush era, and Bush had to work out from the Reagan era.

  8. The tunnel deffinetly needs to be up and running by new years.

I have been asked to move our teams annual winter training to AZ and it would be a clincher if the tunnel was open for business!

(but of course we are busy during the boogie!, damn Army)

  9. By your profile (wich is very thin) You have been directly affected like many US. Citizens have been affected. How much of the DZ's clientel is military? Doesn't the high deployment rate affect the DZ business? Along with all the local business?

I am not hiding under my bed, and having been over seas for a large part of the last 3 years, I am sad to see how many have forgotten what happened but most importantly WHY.

It is a fight, no avoiding it. It has been in our face for far longer than the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

  11. Fall and winter are pretty good times to go shopping.

Some times you can find a complete rig for well below normal price.

Check into Demo items that the various makers may be selling off, after this season to, make space for the next years batch. Yes, it is used, but it is factory maintained and usually way cheap!

    Just a thought.

  12. Hey all!

I just got a Rage 130 from Flight Concepts as a Demo.

This is a truly awesome Canopy!

I normally Jump a Sabre 135 or Stiletto 135. I would compare the rage to a Stiletto with a bit more horsepower. It may be like a Katana but I haven't jumped one to know. I have made several jumps on it and love its opennings and flight.

Just thought any one looking, to down size into a high performance canopy or change high perfomance canopies, would want to know about this awesome ride!

Call Red at Flight Concepts,he has a few Stock models and Demo's around to test and sell.

  13. Hey Rob,

This cat hadn't made it far enough in the progression to consider that yet. He was just being taken care of by a buddy at the other DZ and was a danger to alot of others.

Kudo's to your son! And to you for being a supportive parent.

If you saw the various forms of intel and the first hand scene you would see that a lot of the bad things that Iraq had going on still are in the dark waiting for all the victoms and facts to be sorted out. Other wise I think Bush would have already won.

As a soldier of 18 years I could not vote for Kerry, it will cost me to many friends in the long run. And if he is elected agianst my vote, I will retire.

  16. I got the great forune of doing a Demo at the Muncie Summer Heat Airshow where Kirby was flying.

You think the Vid's are cool! Stand on the centerline DZ gathering your gear while he is 50 feet over head!

The dude is the national and world champ for a reason! He can freefly a Plane!

Oh he is a jumper too siad he does his jumps in AZ where his wife is a Otter pilot!

    Too Cool!

  17. Hey John,

Just wanted to clarify my previous post.

I thought the goal of the AIC was to get all Course Directors on a simular sheet of Instructional music. That is why I made the Old BIC reference, since it was designed to start us all on the same sheet fo instructional music.

And I figured (probably incorrectly) that very few would want to attend an AIC course and not already be an instructor.

  18. My understanding is this is for after you get an "I" rating and are looking toward a Course Director position.

I have not been to the course but have talked to a DZo who is an AFF-I, SL-I and T-I. He stated it is very simular to the old BIC course in theory. Trying to get all Instructors teaching under a simular method.

Maybe all of us "I's" can get more info as more attend the course.

  19. I got 2 brand new sized the way I wanted wings in 4 weeks.

OF course the weather in Florida is affecting any thing skydiving.

You may want to go with aggiedave on finding a stock rig or used rig at a dealer on the west side of the US, just to make the boogie.
