Apparently the 2nd amendment is alive and well in Saudi Arabia.

It was alive and well in Iraq too. Until the US invaded and the first course of business was restricting civilian gun rights.

We allowed them to keep an AK type weapon for protection, and only confiscated the Military/Police/State OWNED weapons, IIRC.

Or a massive tsunami of global support for a Robin Hood tax.

Robin Hood was a fictional character, he also robbed the GOV, who was rich by over TAXING the people.

You're actually advocating the Sheriff's actions, not Robin's. You're advocating more taxes to benefit the GOV.

Using the misnomer doesn't it make it any more believable or right.

Yeah doing those at night helps so you can't see just how fast the ground is ripping by you and just how BIG everything on the ground looks.;)

One more thing: in Mr. H's book, page 125, Fank Heyl, survival expert, says DBC could easily have taken the "X" chute --for survival purposes after the landing. It's part of military training.

No need to take a third chute for survival. if there is a main and a reserve plus the containers and lines for both you have a hell of a lot of material to "improvise" with. I have trained hundreds of college boys how to cut up C-9 canopies for making shelters( A-frame or lean-to or full blown teepees) and clothing out of. Risers make great pack straps... and belts... we even taught them how to make multi-strand ropes out of suspension lines..... the list is endless with what you can make. Plus.. no one in their right mind would bail and try to hold onto the damn thing.

Carrying the "X" chute would have just taken up space that was not in surplus anyway. Not to mention if it had little or no useful contents, why risk it?

IF, "Cooper" had training, I think he would have at least made the exit, after looking for his spot, by doing a nice poised step back launch, slowed a bit to freefall terminal and then pulled.

I may only have a limited number of 727 jumps, but I have plenty of big jet jumps, and even a few at higher then optimal exit speed, I would not pull on the steps unless that plane was inflames and REALLY REALLY REALLY low! And even then I might ride the forward throw! (OK, I probably would, sub 500' exits are in my log book, I am comfortable with it in the right circumstance)

Occupy is a grassroots democratic movement that, in the years of austerity for the 99% and more unearned wealth for the 1%, will continue to grow. You can wish them away but we'll stick around thank you very much.

Most of your comment is not true, particularly the "democratic movement" part, they never wanted that.

As I am a member of the "99%", the former "Occupy" movement never represented me, it makes them, frauds from the start. They are no longer in existence here, and in most other places as well, the other still struggling hold outs, will fade away, after a slight resurgence post election.

    Jo,

Blevins book is free. No cost. How can you characterize that as a commercial exploitation?

I don't understand the venom. Blevins somehow is a venom magnet. I just don't feel the pull. You, Georger and many others do.

It is almost like there is a HUGE misplaced personal fear, he might be right, and that would make a few look foolish.

Me, I'm going to Mexico, Cabo Wabo, and have a beer with a near 90 year old expat, Paratrooper, SF type. Seems more plausible to me.

  7. When did you hire "Mr Legal Esquire the third"?

He wasn't very "forceful" or even all that "threatening".
Kind of funny, once he got put in his place, reading to him your own words kind of caused a bit of a touretts like episode. :o He may be rethinking his fees, FYI.:D:D:ph34r::D:D

I met Raquel Welch once and told her that I wanted to make love to her in the worst way. She smiled at me and said, “I imagine you will”. Then her butthole personal assistant told her she needed to go to an important meeting before I could get her number or arrange a date. Can you believe that? Oh well, at least I don’t live in some fantasy fuelled world filled with overcompensation, don’t have to thanks to Raquel.

I hate to tell you this Farf, but I was the night clerk at the Beverly Hills Hotel back then. The "important meeting" Raquel had that night she rejected you was with Bob Knoss.

Still thinking the words you use do not have the meanings you think they do. Occupy would be more attuned to being "leaches".

The 1% are the shiftless bums lazing off society. The Occupiers are the ones pointing out that truth. Live with it. Occupy and Obama will get along fine.

I don't think shiftless and lazy mean what you think they mean. Come on DD you actually USED to have viable points, even if the subject was as irrelevant as this one is.

No you're not. I am part of the 99% and guess where I was today. Instead of occupying some street corner or park and/or posting mindless drivel on an internet forum, I was at work. So stop saying I am one of you, because that is pure bullshit. I will never ever be one of you. You do NOT represent the 99%.

Bob, you are mixing us up with the "Deception thread" across the hall...

No confusion. You are crystal clear. Bury anything of eventual value. Ignore any pertinent facts. If you can't discredit facts, discredit the individual. Does not work that way. The truth is independent and stands by itself. You are just blowing in the wind, showing your colors, using anything you can to quiet exposure of the real transgressions of the Pentagon, FBI, and FAA in executing Project Norjak for the Nixon Administration. Ask your buddies in high places. The truth is there for the asking.

Iraq war veteran Scott Olsen showed up in a wheelchair at yesterday's march marking the one-year anniversary of the Occupy Oakland camp raid. But this time his injury hadn't been inflicted by police: Last week he was hit by a car while riding his bike, but it was nothing serious, he told me.

    Welcome to America DD!

Scott walked into a projectile BTW, he even admitted it.

You do seem bitter at those who have somehow done better than others.

Dislike them for being Politicians, less hypocrisy that way. Since neither is with out their issues and failures.

But, if he was heading south things to his right, would be west of the flight path.

Of course to my right could be any where from the 1 o'clock to 5 o'clock position, bur more than likely in the 2 to 3 o'clock positions. Once the location is a beam, it is pretty much behind you.

Problem, no one used those events to teach PROPER Harness adjustments, or have the T-I learn from the event.

No one focused on the issue of complacent Instructors, DZGM'a and DZO's. Instead it became a web "rumor" and bonfire gossip.

The good from this event, we the skydiving industry is openly discussing how not to let this become the norm (mostly).

Honestly, never heard so much gobblety-gook from so many cover-up artists. Time to poke my nose in for another review. You are all singing turkey tunes at the moon. You beat down a poor old lady with a secret. Jo, your secret is true, it is real and these guys are supposed to keep you occupied. Duane Weber trained for jumping out of the back of a 727 in my front yard (apartments) during the summer of 1968 for the express purpose of executing Project Norjack. Project Norjack was used as a political leverage ploy to spur Air Piracy Conventions in the Hauge, Japan and Montreal and to leverage Congress to pass air safety standards. They refused, Nixon enacted an Executive order based on Norjack, and we all lived happily ever after. This is what really happened, the details are in my notes and more of the story continues in McCoy's writings. Jo has the truth, she just won't accept it because she does not like it. Bite me. Them's the facts, Ma'am.

Thank You so very much in your assistance!

I'm aware of those guidelines. The IRS generally only seeks to determine status for particular workers or groups of workers in court actions or in review of particular forms. Matt indicated that he knew of specific instances where this was being reviewed. I can't find any, but perhaps my google-fu is weak.

I wrote, Auditors, and their feelings, not court cases. But maybe the case in Ohio might apply.

I just noticed that the subject line for this tread referrers to a “Skydiving employee”. I would guess that he files his taxes with a 1099 not a W2. But then if someone tells you when to be at work and what to do when you are there you are not an “independent contractor” but an employee. :o

    Sparky

Several IRS Auditors feel the same way. And really if an "employee" looked into it, they would want to be "employed" as well, far better for their taxes, benefits, and PROTECTION. Since they are doing what they are being told to do.
