  1. Hey all.... I have a demo copy for now until I can purchase a real copy of vegas 9 platinum... Any was I have 2 camera's i'm trying to get video off of... HC5 (tape) SR5 (hard drive) Material on both cameras has been recorded in HD.. For some reason I was able to get the SR5 to upload onto the laptop via the vegas program but not all the files came off....there is 144 files and only 38 uploaded.... HC5 ( for some reason, vegas doen't see it....therefore I can't upload the material onto my laptop... ) hope this makes sense... previously my girlfriend and I where using windows movie maker.....I know cheap software but it worked for us... now that we have the HD camera we need to learn vegas.... Do I need to install that sony cd ( picture motion browser ) Alao is there some type of software or free ware to view the .mts files that came off my bros SR5 camera. thanks for any info / help Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

  6. Glad to here things are all cleared up Michael... I ordered a FF3 helmet for my HC5 off of Mr.Bowen in the middle of september... He was very helpful and very accommodating since I changed my mind a few times on what camera to mount... He also answered many phone calls and PM's on dropzone.... 2K composte makes a very beautiful and well crafted helmet I am very pleased with what I purchased... Mike B. 8. Well I definetely don't have the experience that the rest do that have responded... i just purchased an FF3 and sidemounted a new HC5 with a cam eye 2 and cutaway.... this helmet is a beauty....very well built and fits like a glove... I also mounted my friends CX7 camera and it fit fine.. The box is alittle big....thou U woould have to get a hype eye pro instead of the cam eye 2 also Any ways u can see some pics on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=682718846 hope this helps... 9. All I tried was mounting the CX7 onto the aluminum plate...It fit and I was able to close the lid....never tried hooking upto the cam eye 2 cause I realized it didn't have the lanc...then remembered reading u have to use the hype eye...didn't have one of those. hope this helps Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  10. Hey Mike.... Thanks for the great service and all the answers to my questions..... The FF3 fits perfect.....so tight that my Gatorz hurt my head....I can live with that...well not really but I'm sure I can find something else to where .. I'm glad I sold my PC1000 and baught the HC5 because the video is just out standing when watched on a High Def tv.... I aslo got to see a CX7 this weekend and that cam is sure sweet.....even fits into my new helmet.... :) Anyways , getting side tracked here...sorry The FF3 arrived with the cam eye 2 installed and routed correctly....the cutaway system was also installed....the chin cup was also installed....everything worked and looks awesome.. The only thing I had to install was the aluminum plate to which my HC5 sits on.... TOOLS NEEDED: 10 mm wrench and a 4mm allen key... got all this from menards for less than 6 bucks... THANKS BOWEN for all your help .... Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

I've got a FF3 that should be here in a week or so and I'm aslo thinking of taking on the project of building a custom Vapour Wes Pro helmet this winter. So the case would have to fit the following : 1---FF3 1---Vapour Wes Pro 1---HC5 1---XSI What are your sugestions and what size case do u think would be needed for all that plus the cables and batteries and etc.... thanks for the input... 22. yes I agree with you on most.... the amount of passes all depends on what you are doing and types of materal.... I haven't welded on construction for at least 15 yrs or more...there we used the 6010 and 6011 alot more....then 7018... yes like u said with the shitty material being rusty and so on.... I work for a mass transit company so everything that is welded is sand blasted nice and clean.... more mig welding going on than stick.... since I'm a machinist also...I only have to weld when I don't hold enough senority to stay in the machine shop...then to dirty ville and the joys of welding... 23. use the 7018 and run it on the hot side... u can also run a few passes overlapping them its never a bad idea to put extra weld.. even if it just for shoring something up... its going be there a w eek so u just never know whats going to happen... I really don't have that much experience w ith the 6011 or 6010 rods... its been a long time since I welded high pressure pipe where I've been working the last 20 or so years its 7018 and MIG ( hard wire ) and ( core wire ) Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  24. If you are worried about the 7018 rod being damp.. just stick the rod to the metal and let it heat up a bit.. then pop it off..... or go throw it into your oven in the house a few hours at roughly 250 -300 degree's works wonders.....and yes...u aren't welding high pressure pipe so don't be to worried about the rod...unless its been sitting out in the rain for ever... hope this helps Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  25. 6011.....7011.....6013...... I would never use as a stand alone rod..... they are more a rod for running root passes and then fill and cap with a 7018...rod... ya they will stick your 2 pieces of metal together I dont know how and what your guys use in the US for welding but I've been a welder for 20 plus yrs... I use 7018 for everything, especially for what twoply is planning on doing... I haven't used 6011...7011....for ages....and I can't remember the last time I used 6013.... Anyways good luck with your job.... Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
