Hello again, everyone! It has been a while but I wanted to ask for some help. For those who may not remember, Paul Rafferty was a Golden Knight in the 80s-90s (and into the 2000s) He died in 2004 (refer to his thread in Blue Skies for further information on that) Bill and Nicole Rafferty are putting a packet together for Paul Rafferty's nomination into the Skydiving Hall of Fame. They are asking friends, students, teammates or anyone that he may have been mentored by/ inspired by him to write letters on his behalf on why he should be inducted. Please email the letters to [email protected](Nicole's email), with Paul Rafferty's name in the subject line. We hope that all will be willing to help. I spent one night in a hospital after a motorcycle accident. I wasn't hurt that bad(broken left thumb and torn tendons in my left ankle and my total bill was over 35K. Thank Christ we have National Health service in the UK i spent 6 weeks after my Bike accident and had internal bleed on the spleen, fractured Neck, Smashed and de-gloved right foot. Paul Rafferty was the son of George and Dorothy Rafferty. But he spent a lot of time in the sport and that does develop a family of its own. nine years.... damn.

One of the main reasons that I visit this forum so infrequently now is due to "discussions" like this one. What could be an interesting topic is a chaotic ranting. mpohl, I PERSONALLY know Lawrocket. I do not know you. But based on your attacks against his integrity, I can assume that you prefer to post lies and mis-truths. Opinionated debates should be defended with facts. Until that ONE SIMPLE task can be accomplished, this is all sound and fury... signifying ...

ANY TIME that you take ANY MEDICINE - whether it's "just" over the counter tylenol for a headache, "natural" melatonin for insomnia, prescription antidepressants for a rough time or chemotherapy for a REALLY bad situation - YOU need to weigh the positive against the negatives. (and that being said - even placebos have adverse side effects!!!)

I try to change the value system to "health" not "hot." Women generally don't come to visit me to be "sexy", rather they make an appointment for their pap or some problem. I don't prescribe birth control so that they can get more guys to "like" them... many times I don't even prescribe it FOR birth control (painful periods/ irregular bleeding/ heavy periods) I just look at this issue differently. My perspective is not a scoring system on shallowness; it's looking at risks with diabetes or hypertension. I try to help women see that they are "beautiful people" at any BMI but if they want to live longer with less chronic problems, they should exercise and eat well. . . and reduce stress (I don't have too much luck with that one) We are just blind (wo)men talking about an elephant

Woman do that to men all the time and are much harsher, but were thought to suck it up and go on. I know plenty of woman who don’t give a fuck what men think as well. Not all are so ready to for there worlds to be shattered by words. I think the issue is people always think they have an issue and often the answer is SHUT UP GET UP AND MOVE ON. When you give people a podium to constantly whine about what hurts there feelings, and why there the way they are and that BULL SHIT you are the cause of the problem. If it was treated with more reality then compassion many of the issues people have would simply be taken care of . Basically both people the crying fat girl and the ass hole dude both suffer from the same problem of shallowness. I don’t see how you can take a side. I don't think that I understand your critique of my comment. I posted that, AS A PHYSICIAN, I have to deal with the MEDICAL aspect that occurs as a result of the psychological response to that "ass hole dude." I have to counsel them on both overweight issues and underweight issues..... and you think that I'm 'giving them a podium" and I'm "causing the problem"? I know that the "right" answer/ the "smart" thing is not to respond to this thread... but who ever says I listen to "them." Let's change the perspective: Once you have had to counsel women on weight for medical reasons, you get a VERY DIFFERENT opinion on those pageants. And that is whether you have to talk to them for OVERweight OR UNDERweight. It's a lot easier to be "philogynistic" when you don't actually have to know or care about the person within the skin. Do you understand the impact there is on those women when you are superficial like that? Saying "I love beautiful women ... but only when she 'x,y,z'" (ie "only a size 2" or "only wears hot clothes") That conditional "love" is very damaging to a persons identity. It presents a conflicted message - "You're WORTHY" BUT... "only if." So then some people take that belief to heart... truly and sadly sometimes. Then, as a physician, trying to UNDO that damage... this past week, I've had that task. It's not an easy job to undo that. It truly makes me wonder "WHAT THE FUCK IS HE THINKING?" I absolutely understand that there is "something wrong with her"; ya know what's wrong? she cares more about what "he" thinks and not about what is healthy for her. Shah, I hope that someday you meet a truly beautiful person that you will love for who she is.
