Anyone tried jumping in rockclimbing shoes? I always assumed that a shoe that conformed to your foot would be best for freeflying, but have never tested it. I always jump in my runners for support on landing. But now I think about it having that good edge on the shoe would be good for control and movement. Maybe I will test my rockclimbing shoes someday soon and see what happens. The reason I would think would be to gain more control and awareness from learing how to fly with just your lower body. Which would help when flying with hands in front and turning points. Is flying with no arms possible? Sure is possible, this is one of my fav things to do, just cross your arms over your chest and try fly it. I put a hand on each opposite sholder, feels mad when you speed up from it. People can pick up the basics of skiing in a day, and prob go down harder runs sooner that on a board(slide slipping not inc). It all depends on how many lessons people get and how naturally talented they are. Little kids can ski easier than snowboard too because they don't have the co-ordination in there ankles and knees to snowboard.
