So how do I go about doing it? (other than waiting around for a rich pilot!) A friend once told me he took out a personal loan for his first rig, and they gave it to him under the category of "Recreational Vehicle." Even though I am a student and should have plenty of experience with loans, I'm not sure...can I take out a personal loan to get my first rig? Sarah ps. I figure the sooner I get my own gear the more I can jump cuz they'll be 2 times cheaper than now! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Thanks. I'm just trying to spread a little luv and you should always appreciate the people in your life... you never know when you might not see them again! Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

What about making her something, like say, a birdhouse made out of popsicil sticks? LOL! Just joking, maybe something that she's wanted to try before, like salsa dance lessons, a cooking class, hmmm? Just make it personal and specific to HER and HER needs, don't think about what YOU would like, just think about what really makes her passion. Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I just wanted to say that I really do appreciate the men I have met in this sport that set them apart... I appreciate how strong yet sensitive the male sex can be...., but these jumper guys have made me feel SO welcome and comfortable at the dz that I just hafta brag on them... Special thanks to Harley, BC, Spanky, Corey, Chris, ESPECIALLY Harley, I can't wait to freefly with you!!! Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Of course I've seen Cutaway! I have watched it OVER and OVER for the past 4 years along with sticking my head out the window of a car barreling down the highway, trying to quench my thirst for skydiving!!! I love the song during Baldwin's tunnel training, We Are All Connected ( All One), by Entrain. It just makes skydiving seem so romantic to me... girl gets skydive, girl gets guy to skydive, girl gets skydiver guy. And then he gets a CLOSING PIN NECKLACE!!! I think I'm gonna melt......... ya hear that, my ex freeflyer bf, I got the closing pin necklace but no rig! Obviously he WASN'T the one for me, mwhahahahhah! Arguments for (or against) the existence of God

I am an Organizational/Interpersonal major and I am just now starting to take classes for my major. Just wondering if any of ya'll work in Human Resources, I am thinking that might be the direction I am going down. I want to know, what's it like working in HR/Personnel? Also, is HR helpful in running manifest at the dz? ( I know, skydiving is that important to me that I would consider my job skills applicable to working at the dz) Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Yeah I just got a job at Wallyworld, since I needed jump money and it is a convenient place to work since its right across the street from the university... but guess what, they expected me to work EVERY saturday, which is when I go to the dropzone. So today after trying to negotiate only working 2 sats a month, they told me I couldn't and so I quit!!! I need jump money, but not if it means working at a place where I won't be able to jump... so my job search continues... Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I don't know why you guys think skydiving is going downhill, because even though I've been in the sport 4 years,I'm still a newbie. All I can think of is humans have an innate yearning for SOMETHING, and if they find something they think can satisfy that yearning, they will pursue that thing (like skydiving) until that no longer fulfills them. Skydiving is fun, but it CANNOT validate your soul and the reason for living. (oh, I know I stepped on someone's toes!) Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Hey Guys- Boy did I sure have an interesting weekend. Not only did I get to fly an airplane ( some darling old man let me sit in the pilot's seat and control the plane)!, but on my AFF jump I couldn't get to my ripcord. We had a bad exit, but got stable and when I was supposed to do a turn, I was spinning really quickly and couldn't get the ripcord. It was more towards the front ( jumped at a different dz) and I couldn't locate it because of the intense spinning. Was almost ready to pull my reserve handle, but my JM ended up pulling my ripcord. So I know what to do next time, but can you tell me, is there a way to spin out of control so you can't get your ripcord? I want to be safe and stay in the sport a long time, I just feel discouraged about what happened and it makes me doubt my abilities. Obviously just because I messed up once doesn't mean I'm gonna be a sucky skydiver right? What can I do to make sure my next jump (and the next couple thousand) go smoothly? Should I maybe go back to static progression instead of AFF? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

So I went out tonight for a little while....
windcatcher replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Yay! So I did decide to forego being anti-social for tonight, me and the girls from my floor and 2 guys (one who rock climbs, in which I told him that was dangerous!), had supper together then went out for dessert. I told the girls my stories about dating a skydiver, getting a ride from a drunk skydiver on his motorcycle ( I know, I need to be more careful!), running into some wacko on the bike trails who was wearing SUNGLASSES and PANTYHOSE on his head and who I thought was gonna pee on me, and now the girls tell me they're gonna watch over me this year! Anyways, now I get to study for my comm theory exam on tuesday... But monday I get to jump, so all my studying will be worth getting in the air labor day. Just had to share my little piece of weekend adventure... Enjoy the holiday weekend my fellow jumpers! Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -
Anybody have free gear they wanna give to a starving college girl? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

So last night instead of going out with the girls, I stayed in all night drooling over skydiving gear on the net! AHHHH!!! What's happening to me? Well, I DID have to go to bed and get up early for job orientation (yay, jump $!), but still...not having any skydiving friends at the university just makes me want to work and invest more time in my friends at the dz. Have you guys experienced anything similar? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

wow! I had never even heard of anyone doing it, I was just thinking about it while trying to fall asleep! That shows you God has a sense of humor!!! Thanks for the story Bill, it made me laugh! Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Jumping with contacts and sunglasses?
windcatcher replied to windcatcher's topic in Safety and Training
Hey guys, I was just wondering if instead of goggles, I could just jump with sunglasses and a retaining strap. Since I have contacts, should I just be wearing only goggles, or can I still wear sunglasses? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -
Why you should freefly with good equipment
windcatcher replied to koz2000's topic in Safety and Training
Oh my gosh, yikes! As a student looking for my first rig, I know that freeflying is definitely my ultimate goal. Should I be looking for freefly friendly gear even w/ my low jump #'s? I mean, this rig will hafta last me till I'm done with college. ( 2years) Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -
Yeah I don't know why but I have been in such a goofy mood lately... The other night me and some of the girls were staying up late studying and laughing about stupid stuff like scary movies. I got on the floor and was arching, imitating the guys from Fandango sounding like walruses: "ARCH ARCH ARCH." Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
