14,500' in 8 minutes - are you kidding me? No - and that was with a full load and just getting gas during a hot, summer day in Georgia! Jack runs a great DZ - and very helpful... guided me in on a late Friday night and offered a place to crash. Very safety conscious staff and motivated, fast packers - AJ rocks! You've got to try out this DZ. I got in five jumps in four hours, and I wasn't doing back-to-backs on Saturday! If you don't like big, flat landing areas, this place might not be for you! :) Really great people - got several 3 to 7 ways in, and they even tracked me down when I left my altimeter there.

Closest place to Skydive to Traverse City, MI???
Soudej replied to Soudej's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Anyone know the closest DZ to Traverse City, MI?? I will be there early August and want to jump. -
Thank you - I knew there had to be a way to look people up in there somewhere!

How do you search for the e-mails of other dropzone.com buddies? Several gave me their nicknames at a DZ over the weekend who had gear I'm interested in, but I cannot figure out how to look them up - thanks, Mr. In need of a Dropzone.com for Dummies book

OK - while the rest of North GA was whining and complaining about the weather this weekend, Skydive the Farm was up and running... as usual! I only made it out for two half days (actually less than that... 1:30 on Saturday and 2:30 on Sunday with 6:30 sunsets) and still got in 9 jumps... and some of those were to altitude! As usual, the Farm was the place to be - helpful staff and coaches (I'm a newbie), several packers, and a rigger were on site. With the big, open landing area, even a new guy with a canopy bigger than most cargo chutes felt comfortable this weekend. I love this DZ - whenever a staffer makes you stay in the aircraft or on the groud during an AFF jump course because they don't like the current conditions, you know they're out for your safety and longevity in the sport - not just a quick buck! That's why I keep going there, learning there, and bringing friends and family there. Come join me! Ask for Woody or Hans - they were EVEN able to help ME learn to skydive!

It would be helpful if canopy size was stated in the tag line of each ad - a required field could be added that would require each new ad to contain this. I hate having to open each ad only to see that the canopy is either way too big or small for me to consider. Thanks.
