I'm a snowboarder now. I used to ski but switched after a big knee surgery. I thought that I would be less likely to twist/torque my knee with my feet strapped down on one board. So far, so good. I think its true that it is easier to get to mastery of the harder stuff on a snowboard. By my second season snowboarding, I was pretty comfortable on all the terrain at Mt. If that works for you then that is great. Personally.. I could see issues cropping up if their was a significant income difference between spouses. I would say that I completely agree; however, it is his fun money and he is currently out cutting down trees and splitting firewood in 96 degree temperatures while I am at home (mostly) relaxing. Both. We have joint checking and joint emergency savings funds. Then we both get the same amount of fun money each month that we spend however we please. I was 19 and my husband was 28 when we first started dating almost 10 years ago. He broke up with me twice over the same concerns about the age difference. He soon realized that despite the age difference, we had the same maturity level. After a year of dating including 6 months of a long-distance relationship while I lived and worked in Australia, we moved in together and things have been good ever since. I think for a 19 year old I was fairly mature. I was self-supportive, had recently moved across the country to work full-time in skydiving and was very independent. No there is not. Perhaps sometime in the future there could be something, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. If you move to that area the closest choice would be Skydive Snohomish. When I had a couple hundred jumps I had a pilot chute in tow (or likely a pilot chute in my burble) after deploying at 4500. Instead of aggressively clearing the air over my back, I made a meager panicked attempt to clear the air and then went to my reserve. My main deployed completely and my reserve remained in the free bag fairly close to my feet. I attempted to contain the reserve between my legs to prevent it from deploying. Instead this knocked the locking stows loose and my reserve opened at the same time that the lines wrapped around my legs. I was stretched horizontal between my canopies with a squirrely reserve and had to improvise. I cutaway my main when I had clear air and disentangled my legs from my reserve lines. I was free of this garbage at 1000 feet and then had an uneventful landing. Lessons: Don't panic. Don't get lazy when tossing the pilot chute. In the event of a pilot chute in tow, aggressively clear the air over your back. Altitude saves lives. Despite making quite a few bonehead decisions on that jump, I really feel that this incident resulted in my becoming an extremely safety conscious jumper.
