  1. I'm going from memory on this so give me some slack; back around 1966 or so, the 100,000 jump was made at PI at Orange. The guy who made the jump was making his 100th jump & all S/L's. But, I may be incorrect. JerryBaumchen There was an old guy that was a club member where I started out, he had some physical problems and wasn't confident with freefall skills so ALL he ever did was SL jumps. I know he had over 200 because he was on his 3rd logbook when I left that area for college. He jumped a jumbo PC even after everybody else went square... and he was always within a meter or two of the disk. Jake Mhor, he owned Golf-Mhor links & country club outside of Davenport. I doubt he's above ground now, he'd be in his late 90's early 100's. Hi Jim and Jerry, Yup there were those who just did S/L's even though they could have progressed to freefall!! Thing is, it took 70+ S/L's before Kathy could be cleared for freefall!! Gotta give the Lady an A for Perserverance!! Any So. Cal people know if Kathy is still around?? 2. Hi Keith, About 1/2 way!! Kathy Maholic Jacklin from Elsinore/Perris I believe holds the record with somewhere in the range of "70" +/-10!! Kathy, ante up and tell us!! I remember her telling us at our Instructor/Jumpmaster S/L cert course at elsinore back in '78 I think it was, about her telling us about her delima getting off student status but she perserviered!! and wanted to give back to the sport!! What a Lady!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  3. Hi Ken, If you were here in Eastern NC, I'd send you over to Barnhill Const. Co., they do road building work, I think they have a lot of spare parts for "Dump Trucks" for sale cheap, that's what yer jumpin' PS, Read and heed "EVERYTHING!!!" that "dpreguy" in the post just above this one says!!!! ...Got that!!! He "TOTALLY" has a handle on the MC-4 and I have observed exactly what he witnessed on every MC-4 flight and landing that I have seen!! I'd rather be jumping my old Stratostar!! 4. Hi Gonzo, Cheeze-its, Cheeze-tits,... I like em' all.... especially after a night of boozin' and wild sex and yer both layin' there pantin' and then the midnight munchies attack and ya' can only find a box of Cheeze-its and yer' both in bed watchin' "Flesh Gordon" on the TV and eatin' Cheese-its and gettin' the crumbs all over everything, the bed included and you don't mind lickin' up all the strays on your lady's body.....especially, and I mean "Especially!!" the ones caught in the crack!!!!! KnowwhatImean!!!????? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Full story: JPFO.org This is a good look at the psychology of gun-haters. I suppose it would be against the rules to name names and categorize resident gun-o-phobes here into those categories, but I think we've got at least one of each! Hi John, 'Guess ya' hit a raw nerve with a bunch of "Gun-o-phobes!!....also known as "Hoplophobes" those with an irrational fear of "Guns!!"(term coined by Jeff Cooper, look him up in yer Funk and Wagnals!!) Sorry about that troops but ya' jez gonna havta' live with it!! For a bunch of Skydivers I'm really surprised by the number of wimps that have replied to your post!! Hmmmmm.... oh well! Anyway John, anytime ya' wanna get together and pop some caps and drink some beers I'll be around. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  6. Hey Tuna!, Too much fun!! Like how big is the plane and how big is the engine?? Generaly, if the engine will turn over and doesn't have too much varnish in it, just fire it off and run it real rich for a while then slowly lean it out till ya' get it singin' that sweet song that I think ya' already know. When ya' can kick the throttle up to max and back down with no trouble , then yer there!! 'Got educated thumbs!! Ran 4 gallons of fuel, 10% nitro,(or was it 5% nitro????) thru an old O.S. .35 on the front of an old Falcon 56 till the nose got so oil soaked ya' could wring it out like an old dish cloth!! Ah!!... those were the daze... play on Gypsys, play on!! Keep us posted on how the plane flyz!! 'Back some eonz ago when I was workin' for old man Sheehan at Scare-a-netics in south elmonte I'd go to Whittier Narrows to fly and see what was going on.. Dave Shadel, hot shot formula I, and anything else fast pilot was there testing some new rig he had, think he was burnin' 35% nitro and I'll say this,"He was Fast!!" 'Remember he fried a plug on each flight!! ......Who?? .............Me??? Bill Deli, AMA-87838 SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  7. Full story: Philly.com Freedom is funny like that. Freedom does not include a guarantee that you will never be offended. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Because freedom means everyone is free to do things that you may not like, it pretty much guarantees that you WILL be offended. Learn to get used to it. Because the alternative, where things you don't like get banned, also means that things other people don't like get banned. And when everyone is banning everything, then there's no more freedom, including your own. Hi John, Funny you should mention that!! "Gun Stores!" In my/your/our neighborhood!! Well. let's see, first off, there are the "Gun Stores!,"like Jims in Fayetteville and Gander Mt. of course don't forget the "Gun Show" where the anti's think you can buy any gun with no NIC, then on the other end of the scale, lets go down to the local hardware store here in good old Roseboro and low and behold tossed in among the nuts, bolts, lumber, feed and seed are "GUNS!!" I should also mention up the road at "Wallyworld" in sportinggoods are, you gussed it, guns!! WTF is the big deal?? I'd suggest that whoever is doin the gripin' needs to get a life!! Gun stores are a dime a dozen and I'm lookin' for the guy supplyin' the dimes!! BTW Gun Control is like trying to control drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars!! .....Oh brother spare me!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  8. Hi Steve, 'Remember those times from way back when and a few jumpers with an "attitude" like that. I say thankfully only "a few." Havn't heard anyone with a bravado attitude like that on the DZ in ages. There may be some there but fortunately for me they were out of hearing range... or maybe I've just gone deaf from all the airplane noise! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  9. Hi Scary Larry!!, Sorry to hear your lament!! Since I tore my right deltoid a couple of years ago it sadly put me on the back buner!!I kinda' feel also like my skydivin' daze are done too but I havn't sold my rig....yet!! 10. ... and I don't like it. What do others think? Hi Butts', I concur. Like an old Flyin' thing where pilots would add 5kts above the designated approach speed of their aircraft to avoid stalling on final and burning in for the wife and kids and another 5 kts for "Grandma!!" thus "Grandma speed!!" Go Figure! Get it!!????? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  11. He's 6'-2", weighs 165 lbs. and has size 13 feet. He'd be a great tracker! Hi Andy, and can you imagine the "Crater!!" Doc Johnson would have to pass the hat at the Bomb Shelter to get enough money to buy enough plaster of "Perris" to fill the divit to make the "bird bath!!" Those #13 feet are the clincher!! You shoulda' seen Nelsons' divit!!(The crater that Doc made the bird bath from!!) With that Sh*t eatin' grin of his, "bummer would leave enough teeth for a great "Crater Lurk!!" 'Wonder if his ears would fold back after his carcass exceeded ground level??? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  12. Hi Shawn, You did good. Like someone else said, "The hug from your sweetie....'PRICELESS!'" Nuf'said. You just added one more senario on how to handle a bad situation and add it to Sgt Joe Fricks,"Rules for a gun fight!!" Don't worry about a "Plan" as we all should know in real combat, a "Plan" lasts about an "Oakland second"....that's very similar to a "New York second," what ever that is. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Hi Stew, WTF is it??? Looks kinda like a B-25 or B-26 WWII vintage, the D/F loop on top was common to the era, looks like the L/G was some kind of experiment for landing on inhospitable terrain like snow or sand?? Well the gear worked for takeoff I presume?? Any other takers?/ SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  14. Hi P-5 and everybody else, The thing that bugs me about this ruling is the"Light that Skydiving is put under??" Why ban skydiving?? On what Grounds?? As a skydiver who is not involved in this "Case" I am still involved and so are you because this Black Robed individual has set a president about our sport!!! It's a legal issue in a court of law and we are the guilty parties, not just "That Guy!!!!" Not just him but all of us are "Fu*ked!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  23. Hi Andy and PhiltyPhil, Yeah you guys are right, Brain buckets are good things!! They prevent all kinds of death and destruction. But then again the deal is like Tommy and the Cypress, the only time he really needed it to work for him, it wasn't turned on!! it's like the runway behind ya' and the altitude above ya', ain't gonna do ya' a lot of good. 'Better wear yer hard hat in the shower, ya' might fall and bonk yerself into oblivion!! OK, OK, I give up!! I'm calculating the risk I take when I engage in "Scary-chuting!!" Yes it's dangerious and wearing the brainbucket is a good idea. But if jumping is that dangerous that I have to wear a brainbucket all the time, why jump?? Like I said, it's all about "Risk Management!!" It's like I'm comfortable going to 2 grand on the pull, I'm from the old school and that's where we started!! Today all the newbies freak out below 4K!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi Keith!, As far as a "connection" goes, forget it. The Christians and Jews have the best connect and as far as either of those two and the is-salami-icks, Hahahahahahahaha~~ya' gotta be kidding. Just remember that "joining" the Christians or Jews is "Voluntary!!" Remember this bud, islam is such a "Gutter Religion" that the only way that they can get people to join is to kill them if they don't!!!!!!!!!!!! Got That??!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
