  1. Yes this ball concept was an idea I got a long time ago from that movie. But in the movie they are both inside the ball and it only inflates before impact with the ground. This isn't actually very reliable, the air can't fill a ball at the speed it's going when dropped out of a plane in time for you to survive. So my idea is to have the ball already inflated but use piston elastic belt technology which is my own idea. It could work if we don't think about dropping from planes and use it for the time being dropping from bridges over water which is very doable. I saw on that program called 'prototype this' they had created an airbag that deploys just before construction workers fall off ledges when working on buildings. The episode I saw was about a year old and they said at the end of the program they believed with more work on this device they could get it sold to the construction industry within the next 2 years. Their device didn't work too well, someone used it in a controlled environment indoors jumping from a tall ladder. The airbag opens but isn't anything like the concept CG video they were showing. All their device was, was air that was filling a bag cushioned around the body.
  2. Okay I think I figured it out What I am suggesting is possible but probably not worth it due to the massive cost involved. So here is another take on this idea: I have coined the term 'Ball Diving' What is Ball Diving? Ball diving is the ability of dropping from great heights inside a human sized football for the ultimate rush for the thrill seekers of tomorrow. So what does this device consist of? A human sized football with see through walls so you can keep track on where your going on your descent. The ball uses a suspension system of pistons driven by elastrometric belts. The ball on the inside is covered by these belts that push and pull upon impact. The belt system is connected to a inner sphere made with see through material where the outer surface of the sphere is cushioned against the inner wall of the human sized football which also has see through material. So a sphere within a sphere. You are locked in to the inner sphere and that is connected to the outer sphere. There are rudder controls so you can move freely on all axis by pedaling. The inner sphere doesn't move on it's axis. Only the outer sphere does so but you can make both spheres move on all axis if you want. Now you ride these things off great heights and land in water. Upon impact due to lots of incredible work on getting the pistons just right you will feeling like you have just hit a small cushion of air when you land on water. Then as you can already see through the material you pedal your self out back to the shore. Now I imagine such a system could be used to land on water and land. Imagine diving out of a plane at 15,000 feet with skydivers or going to 60,000 or 80,000 feet halo jumps with oxygen being pumped through the sphere. Landing on both land or water. Imagine as well, built into the sphere is a helicopter blade powered either by a petrol tank inside the sphere or a series of lithium ion batteries similar to the types found in new electric cars with enough power to lift the sphere up vertically up to ten times and then when reached the height on the instrument display you can be dropped. On moment of drop, there's a panel that opens to quickly conceal the blade in a water and shock proof compartment and then you drop to land or water. Now this would be amazing and actually doable I would imagine, don't you?
  3. wow! I have certainly switched on a lot of thinking caps in this thread. I think with all ideas that people have in this world we should try them unless we wouldn't get anywhere. We didn't sit around thinking what if this and what if that to get to the moon. We just did it. Let's not forget that here. I saw a video on youtube about a man who survived a jump off the golden gate bridge. He was suicidal but made it to tell his story and when he had jumped he suffered broken ribs and legs and strained his ankle but is back in one piece now. There have been many deaths but far few survivors. They say they reason they survived was because they landed feet first into the water in the perfect position. Now my dream is if you can build such a water modulation device to allow people to start off by jumping feet first but later actually able to fall in on their belly or head first. But that's way later once the general principle of safe water feet landing can be demonstrated. I have a method that's been in my mind for a while and that is to create a machine that sits under the water and can create a wave like pattern like a whirlpool motion using electricity to charge water to make them bubble. Which is similar to the bubble method being explained by someone further a few posts up. Now I am not looking just yet to see if we could cover the whole length of a bridge to prevent suicides from taking place. But that is the intention later. But for now the idea is primarily for thrill seekers. You still have to line up yourself to make that perfect jump into a water circle radius with a diameter of about 20 meters where along that sizable area either outside the circle or inside would be the machine that changes the water. I believe we would need some experts in physics and chemistry to see if such a thing could be done. I imagine it's possible using electromagnets, gyroscopes and copper wiring among many other very advanced technologies. We need an electrical and mechanical engineer in this thread. It surely is possible
  4. Hey Guys, I have been thinking about this for a real long time now. People can jump from a number of different heights with no parachute to land in water. But eventually the higher you get and fall from you would feel the water hit you like hitting concrete. I would love to climb to the top of the golden gate bridge in just a wet suit or dry suit with a life jacket and jump with no parachute, but do so by using a machine that has been switched on at sea level before I climbed. What this device does is it changes the water structure to make it soft enough so that when you do fall into it from phenomenal heights, you will not feel like you are hitting concrete but just hitting water at the same softness as if you were jumping from below 5 meters. Is it possible to create such a device? I know that if it is possible it would definitely not be some handy device you could put in your pocket but one day it could be. Imagine how amazing it could be for the military or for construction workers doing work on a bridge over a lake or river. But my dream is such a device for the ordinary thrill seeker. There are many people out there like me who really want thrill seeking sports but without all the training. Sky diving, base jumping all very risky and lots of training involved. When you jump you can't just get up and go again you need to re roll your parachute and then hop onto a plane. It's the same thing for base jumpers except you re roll your parachute and then climb a hill or whatever and jump again. I would love to just have that wet suit and life jacket and climb and jump and climb and jump again and again. It would be awesome. So can such a system be developed Imagine how good it could be for suicide victims. There are a lot of bridge deaths. So Instead of governments putting up nets and railings around bridges to stop suicidal people from jumping which makes the brisdges look ugly. They could just deploy this system at sea level that could make the water soft enough so if suicide victims do jump they do make it on touch down. Also the device could run via solar power and also make solar energy that could be sold to the national grid. It seems a win win situation, What do you think? Imagine jumping fro the tallest bridge in the world with such a device, with no parachute, or birdman suit or anything else. Well you could use the birdman suit if you wanted to, to slow yourself down to 40 mph. But maybe the first generation of the device you would need to slow yourself down to 40 mph other wise the hit to the water would be painful even if the device was able to modulate the water softness. I don't know what you quite call this term. anyone know? Anyway is it possible or just a pipe dream?
  5. could you please tell me of any, i plan to land the sea plane into the sea or lake and then get out and go skiing in the mountains and then come back and fly home. You know of any places? TIA
  6. hi all many thanks for the replies I am after some forums that discusses gliders, motor gliders, sea planes like floats and amphibious planes. You know of any good ones? TIA
  7. Hey Guys I have been searching but probably looking in the wrong place. Is there anywhere in Europe that a seaplane can fly to and land on a lake or sea. Then you step out at the harbor and then take a lift directly to the mountains and enjoy some skiing?
  8. I am so glad i had found this again I just got a boat and i really want to buy this, i remember emailing the company that operates this a few years back and they said this was not for sale. If it can be bought now i would love to have this, imagine making like 50 jumps a day with this, that would really help my adrenaline junkiness
  9. thanks for the replies i have done parasailing but that's not what i mean, i am after some new device that is actually bungee jumping from a platform that rises from a towline from the back of a boat, a bit like parasailing in how the parachute makes it upwards but then you have a bungee cord attached to you and you jump down 250 feet. you know of this? Edit: sweet just found it, it's actually bungee jumping from 600 feet, what a rush!!! http://www.nordicventures.com/framesets/bungyframeset/bungyframeset.htm anybody done this?
  10. Hi Guys You know that platform which connects to the back of your boat and while the boat propels forward, you suddenly move up towards the sky to max i think it's 250 feet. Then you connect the bungee cord to you and jump, then a winch reels you in so you can jump again and again. Some European company made this a few years ago, i can't remember who, i think they as well built some inflatable tow able rides for boats, please please help, i have searched everywhere and just cannot find this rig, i can't remember the name. But believe they are some European company. Many thanks in advance
  11. Hey thanks for your reply I see now, it is all really interesting anyway do you know how this new wingsuit with no parachute is going?
  12. Hi guys, Firstly i saw this film yesterday called 'Adrenaline Rush' it's all about sky diving and with wingsuits and base jumping and with wingsuits, like the bird man suit. It was like a documentary they said one of the best birdflyers in the world i think he is the one from birdman.com anyway he has made a birdman jump and covered 16KM in 4 minutes 30 seconds travelling at 200 mph. Now this is awesome, i would love to learn birdman in order to stay up that long. It's strange you can do 200mph and stay up for that long, as i heard the point of birman is to decrease free fall speed to 40 mph and then get extra free fall, but this world champion was able to stay that much longer travelling 5 x faster. That's really amazing. Now the second thing, on birdman they also showed ages ago back in 2004/05 a test to do a birdman jump from 15,000 feet, to see if we may not need to use a parachute, the professional said he has 4 methods of creating the technology in order to jump and slow yourself down just enough to land without deploying a parachute, there is a test video of this on the birdman website, now that was 2004/05 now we are in late 2006 what's going on? this sounds absolutely awesome.
  13. Hi artistcalledian thanks for your opinion But what you don't understand is that the prices that i have posted the actual cost of the sky diving course £823 is if you book before the 31st feburuary 2006. And they go by the UK syallabus, it's actual british instructors that teach you, so it's exactly what you learn in the UK but in spain as it's cheaper over there. And the company that teaches this in spain has another company that teaches in the UK. Infact it's even some of the same instructors they travel from the spain dropzone to the UK one and teach. It's all above board and great for the price.
