  1. Cool, thanks guys. Henry Butler is going to be our judge. He's a local Skydive Houston jumper, but it turns out USPA had accidentally left his name off the online database so I didn't know that. But it's all fixed now! Thanks for the help! Find me on Facebook!
  2. Hi, I'd like to get in touch with someone in the Houston area who is an FAI, national, or regional formation skydiving judge who would be willing to come out to Skydive Houston at some point this fall to certify a women's vertical state record. If you are such a person or can put me in touch with someone who is, please let me know! Thanks, Penelope Find me on Facebook!
  3. Thanks! What I do for a living makes me sad, too. My job is also lame. There could definitely be cool jobs in Oceanography, especially if it's what you're really into, but mine is not one of them. Good thing I get to quit in 14 weeks! :) Find me on Facebook!
  4. Here's a video of some of our early tunnel training from Jan-Feb this year working towards turning 4-way in the tunnel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OuH1uRUlhc Also shows my progression learning to fly on my head in there (I'm in orange for some of it and blue for the rest). And since I finally got around to making a youTube channel, I also posted my submission from the Summerfest 2009 film festival! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mkr3rm14E4&feature=channel Thanks for checking it out, I'll be posting a more recent video of our team progress soon! ~penelope Find me on Facebook!
  5. Both CYPRES 1 and CYPRES 2 are safe within their 12-year lifespan; that's why the lifespan is set at 12 years and not something shorter. This sounds like a good deal and a good way to tide you over while you're in school! :) Find me on Facebook!
  6. Oh, nevermind, that answer was easy to find when I wasn't trying... :) Find me on Facebook!
  7. Thanks. Any idea what the average jpeg file size at 12MP would be? Find me on Facebook!
  8. I'm wondering which SD memory card to use with my new Rebel XSi. I know it's better to get the faster read/write speeds for speed-shooting, but I can't remember what speed CF card I used to use with the Rebel XT (and I can't check since they got stolen). It looks like the SanDisk SDHC cards aren't available in as fast speeds as the CF cards are right now. The "Extreme" model says it does 30MB/sec. I'm a little confused by all the different names I'm seeing when I search different websites ("Extreme III", "Extreme IV", or just "Extreme"). Is 30 MB/sec plenty? Or does anyone know of faster SD cards available? I've seen CF cards up to 90 MB/sec... Thanks for any input... Find me on Facebook!
  9. Woohoo!! I owe BEER!!!!! Thanks for the pictures to prove it, Eric! Find me on Facebook!
  10. And we're still on the lookout for the infamous nut-grabber of picture 3!! Bryan is still in therapy but secretly thought it felt kind of good... Find me on Facebook!
  11. Sweet pictures! That boogie was awesome! I can't wait to come up there in two weeks and have some more fun times with the Suffolk crew! We miss you guys and your PAC! Find me on Facebook!
  12. Don't worry, Harry, we only sent one copy of the video to your wife. :) Find me on Facebook!
  13. We've been cooking the brown rice for longer (about 50 minutes last time), but it is still crunchy. I understand it won't get fluffy like white rice, which is fine with me as I appreciate the healthiness of brown rice, but shouldn't it get a little bit soft? Is brown rice always crunchy to the point that you hear it crackling in your mouth as you eat it? Find me on Facebook!
  14. Actually I've spent most of my life in New England/New York, so I don't consider VA really cold. But I am looking for a change. Bring on the heat, baby! No more skydiving in the snow! Find me on Facebook!
  15. Hi all, I'm a jumper from Skydive Suffolk, VA, and I'm moving down to Houston, TX, next week. I won't quite make it to your Halloween party this weekend, but I will be passing through the Atlanta area on Tuesday, Nov 4, and was hoping to find a place to crash and some people to hang out with and maybe even get a jump in if you guys are flying and I can get there early enough. Let me know if anyone can help me out! Thanks! Penelope Find me on Facebook!
