  2. If you want to skydive, drop me a PM or e-mail if you're going to be in/around Johannesburg. I can probably give you contacts for most other DZ's in the country. (If you're not going to skydive, I'm not going to be much help.) t It's the year of the Pig.
  3. Really? Mirage rigs have less than a 2 year expiry date? PD canopies? Alti 2 Altimeters? Petzl Harnesses? Wild Country quick draws? Beal slings? That was a joke, but I'm going to call you on this. I dont see expiry dates on any of the things I mentioned. If you use soap, it'll be gone in 2 years. Same with Sunblock, etc. I don't think you fully grasp the concept of no make-up. Truth is, "high maintenance" can't be summed up on an internet forum. But for me, if someone is wearing make-up - it's fundamentally dishonest. Like a man with a wig. Or shoe inserts to make himself look taller. What you see is NOT what you get. That's lying, even if it's become accepted as customary. Cosmetic plastic surgery is just more lying. (Traumatic Reconstructive PS excluded here) Age is a badge of rank. It's proof we've been smart enough or lucky enough to survive. I've earned my wrinkles, and my life partner has earned theirs. They don't need to cover them from me. It's OK. It's life. It's time, and time will win, make-up or not. Still outspoken, I know, but my mind won't change. As an adendum, I think it's important to add that the way I feel shouldn't be seen as a slight against people who wear make-up. It simply doesn't apeal to me, unless they're on stage and need to project expressions to an audience a hundred feet away. t It's the year of the Pig.
  4. Agreed. They bettered any expectations I had for them. A try against the springboks in each half is a lot better than England did. I hope to see this momentum grow! t It's the year of the Pig.
  5. Yup. Lets say owning more than $50 worth of make-up total, or replacing that more often than every 2 years. Or if they ever, ever painted their fingernails as an adult or have painted that metalic stuff on their eyelids or that egyptian stuff around their eyes, or have ever had to take ANYTHING off their face before going to sleep. For me, anything more than soap, moisturiser/sunblock, a hairbrush and a toothbrush is just a little too much. (I know I'm outspoken on this, but I've also found the woman of my dreams.) t It's the year of the Pig.
  6. Owns make up. t It's the year of the Pig.
  7. AIR ARMS S410/400 MR1 TACTICAL would certainly be on my list, but starting at 200 GBP, I'd rather spend the money on something that actually shoots. Some advice on the condor. Get a chrony, fill the gun and shoot from full to empty, writing down the velocities and remaining pressure on each shot. Look for the most consistant part of the string and only fill to there. The Air Force rifles are technically inferior, but there are a LOT of things you can do with them. Some can get up to 60 ftlbs. They're known as "Stealth" in the UK.(Hi John!) Check out this site if you want to max yours out. http://www.stealthresource.org/ t It's the year of the Pig.
  8. If you liked the Talon SS, give the Condor a go.. The stock on the S200 is an ambi, but works well. Serious comp target heritage though.(I shoot Left and have a Left Walnut coming for the 400S) If you like wood... http://www.ginb.it/prodotti_list.php?lang=en&mar=2&mod=3 http://www.woodsandwateroutdoors.com/AirArms.htm If you like synthetic... http://www.staffs-synthetic-stocks.com/guns.shtml These things have come a long way since I was a kid. t It's the year of the Pig.
  9. Both rifles are made by Air Arms in England. (Hi John!) The camo I did myself. The rifle is an AA S200 and actually belongs to my SO. Both are equal in power, but the 400 has the edge in consistency due to a larger tank and a flatter power curve, and the 200 is compact enough to carry around all day. Both have Nikko Sterling Platinum series scopes. (6 - 24 x 56 and 4 -16 x 44) Pics of them "undressed" with no camo or moderators, only air strippers, and one of the 400S on the bipod. t It's the year of the Pig.
  10. Not really. On the other end of the scale are PCP's. Accurate enough to hit a Neptune battery 10/10 at 50m (55y) or a 6fl oz soft drink can at 100m, (110y) with no reloading, and around 2 US cents a shot. I've attached a pic of 2 of mine. Both are silenced, which you're not allowed to do there. They make no noise in this configuration. (You wouldn't hear it from 25 yards away in an open field with no ambient noise. Leatherman Wave for scale. Dealing with the trajectory of a 12 ft lb, 8gr projectile in a 10 kt crosswind at 100+ yards will tax all the same skills of a 1000m shot, with none of the cost. t It's the year of the Pig.
  11. S-t-i-l-l i-n p-r-o-d-u-c-t-i-o-n.... t It's the year of the Pig.
  12. Yeah, here's another pic. Most of these are .50 BMG and still in production. The shorter one behind the pink slip is in .338 Lapua. All 4, (.338 Lapua, .50 BMG, 14.5mm Russian and 20mm) use the same frame, stock and bipod. All are bolt action. t It's the year of the Pig.
  13. It was a setwork book in grade 10, I think. I liked it. t It's the year of the Pig.
  14. Osprey? Sure that's not just a pic from a video game though? t It's the year of the Pig.
  15. (Edit to add: To the OP..) Um.. Do you have an Atlas? Mozambique is not in South Africa. t It's the year of the Pig.
  16. Yeah, the Barret website states, ""The California legislature has banned the .50 BMG from the good citizens of the state of California, violating their rights and the constitution of our republic. Therefore, Barrett will not sell to or service any California government agencies." t It's the year of the Pig.
  17. I think loading for a .50 on anything but a single stage is a waste.. and I'm not sure I would have the strength to power multiple stages on a caliber that big anyway. t It's the year of the Pig.
  18. No one can shoot better than their weapon. Trying to get an AK to shoot sub MOA is a pointless exercise. There are other weapons that do that out the box. Now if you wanted to shoot 3 MOA after leaving it outside in a sandstorm - that's a different story. (And 3 moa is still 100% garenteed chest shots at 300m.) t It's the year of the Pig.
  19. There's some very interesting stuff there. In the top left hand corner of the pic is a silenced AK rechambered in .22 LR. Serious contrast. t It's the year of the Pig.
  20. Shooting anything like that without meticulously handloaded ammunition should be a crime. t It's the year of the Pig.
  21. As soon as you've cleared the 99 year cooling off period, and the 250 year background check. t It's the year of the Pig.
  22. The .50 is the baby of the range. They also make it in 14.5mm (a Russian caliber) That rifle uses a three round magazine. The 20mm projectile weighs four ounces, and moves at 2,200 feet per second. The 2.25 ounce 14.5mm bullet moves at 3.400 feet per second. The operational range of the 14.5mm round is 1,800 meters, while for the 20mm it's only 1,300 meters. In the hands of an expert shooter, both rounds can hit targets over 50 percent farther. The only 14.5mm ammo available is armor-piercing incendiary. The 20mm has that, plus a high explosive round. t It's the year of the Pig.
  23. 37.4 lbs, unloaded. t It's the year of the Pig.
  24. Be hard to conceal that down your pants leg! But if you were 2km away, it would be hard to even SEE your pants leg. t It's the year of the Pig.
  25. Well? t It's the year of the Pig.
