I don't know. We'll see after she picks out her rings. :)

Hire "Blood Diamond" on DVD the night before she goes to choose rings. Then when you look like you're in pain if she chooses something massive she will think you're thinking about all the people who died to get that stone.:D

I think this poll should be in 2 parts..

That's why I posted my other canopies. I get a lot of people thinking 1.8 is too high and I should be jumping something docile. When I explain that my "normal" canopy is a Velo at 2.2 - a Safire at 1.8 is docile and conservative!

I'd like to jump with my FX... but I have 20 chops already... and I like pulling a little lower since we only get 11000ft exit altitude.

  3. Not much range of choice there for the non americans... A bit like "with us or against us!"

As a non American, I kinda wish it hadn't happened. But if I was at home, sleeping, and some guy came in and attacked me, I can assure you I would be as violent as required, and would use any weapon at my disposal to end that confrontation as fast as possible. I can fully understand and identify the US response.

Japan had been very, very bad. Their behaviour bordered on the demonic, and the German's structured, documented genocide simply lacked passion by comparison to the violence visited on the Chinese in the middle 1930's. Having said that, in the same way not all Germans were Nazi's, I'm sure there were a few young children who evaporated on that fateful day who had done little wrong.

I think Japan was also a demonstration to the Russians, and can understand why some people thought that demo was required at the time.

We're 62 years down the line now, and the world is a different place. Those guys did what they thought was the right thing to do at the time.
Anything we deciede now is pointless.

As for the USA being nuked one day - that's always a possibility. There's no such thing as a perfect fail safe. A gentleman keeps his friendships in a state of good repair, and the US has done a poor job of that in recent times.

We live our lives forwards, and (hopefully) understand them backwards. Countries lives are longer than ours. It would be great if they could do the same thing.

For fuck's sake people, dissent is BS, America is always right and liberals keep confusing things with factsand history. For fuck's sake, we enslaved people, fuck, sorry. We didn't allow women to vote until 85 years ago, for fuck's sake, they can now, so what's the big deal, let's go over it and never talk about it again. I have just one more thing to say and that's...... FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!

You left out the genocide of the Native Americans...;)

    McLaren says that it accepts....

They really have disapointed me this year. 1st they steal/buy documents/technology. Then they cue their drivers. Then they use a gearbox that was not crash tested. And this weekend they use 2 sets of wets - the penalty of which has always been a loss of grid positions historically, and get away with a 15000 Euro fine. Less than the cost of a front wing.

    And now they bitch.

  7. It was very close. I never had my 1st tequela till 3 min from the whistle. The party was huge, and went to 02h30...:S With much playing of Queen's "We are the champions"

Only did one skydive today... and managed a fragile 55 mph in my Blade.. so wasn't really feeling 100%. Came home to watch Kimi take the world championship for Ferrari. Tough sporting weekend for the English!

You are going to be so gutted when you find out what a first choice, un-injured England team can do to you;)

Or not, as the case may be..;)

Congratulations South Africa! (We've won every final we've been in!)

  9. Well, the main reason for not using them in the past was MAD.

I doubt the US has that to fear at this point, so the odd tactical nuke here or there may be seen as a good return on investment. There is little point in having things you'll never use.

Smaller countries doubtless see nukes like a bee sting. Yes, you got us, but it hurt. And like bees, there are a lot of small countries.

What would have made someone lord of the battlefield 200 years ago is now available in most Walmarts. I don't think it's realistic to think that smaller countries will not have nukes in the next 200 years or so. Technology trickles down. It's always been that way. I don't think the US should fear countries. I think the danger comes from people who will do anything for money, and the greatest risk will come from within.
It was US anthrax used in those attacks. I think the 1st Nuclear attack on the US will be a US nuke.

  10. I'm at 8.6 planets. It has to be the 100 hours flying a year - that's around 300 loads in our Porter including (hot) refuels.

I don't think many people have counted their skydiving - or I don't think most people on this site skydive much..

Edit to add - I also live in Africa, so relative to the people around me, my 60 sq m home and tiny car are the mutz nutz!

a hesitation is now considered a malfunction?

I would think so. If you rode that hesitation to impact, would you have died of a low pull/no pull, or failure to deal with a malfunction?

  12. I would have to say hobby.

I can't imagine someone spending $3000 on air guns for any other reason. My only remaining firearm is a .22LR, and is used only for plinking. I guess it could be pressed into service if someone were forcing their way into my house, but I'm more likely to use double swords in that situation.:D (Oportunity knocks once, and all that..)

  13. So.. It's half time in the final and the score is 86 - 0 to South Africa.
The team deciede to head for the pub early and leave Habanna to handle the English.

After the game, Habanna joins the party and tells John the final score is 109 - 3. John is irrate!>:(

Why the hell did you let them score?

Habanna replies, I was in the sin bin for the last 10 minutes...

  14. A man is drinking from a pond.

A woman sees him and says "Haai! Moenie dai water drink nie! Dis vol skaap kak!"

The man looks up and says "I'm sorry, I'm English. Could you please repeat that in a language I'm more familiar with?"

The woman replies "Oh! Sorry! If you're very thirsty you should be drinking with BOTH hands."

I now put thew same wing as all my suits on the lady flier body.

Now this "Lady flier body" you refer to. If I measure a jumper - any jumper - and I send those measurements to any wingsuit manufacturer - I'd like to think they build a suit to fit that body. That's why I measured it, right? Then they'd put the wings on it, just like you do.

So what's the point of a "lady flier?"

Did you come up with that all by yourself?

Nukes are a bit like guns, really.

If you're a 98 pound weakling (Iran) and you see some big, muscular bully come in and spank the other 98 pound weakling (Iraq) that you fought tooth and nail from 1980 to 1988 and ended in stalemate - in three weeks - you may figure you need an equaliser of some sort.

So they're equal in perfomance in all flight modes?
    -------------------------------
    what?? the suits or girls?

I know girls that are equal in all flight modes. What about your suits?

For me, it's a lot like rock climbing. Girls bodies are different to boys bodies, but if they're really into climbing, the difference is small. What men gain in power, the women climbers I know make up for in technique. As I grow older, and consequently weaker, I find myself climbing more like a girl. The grades go up, I can climb longer and get less tired. Women's harnesses may have a different cut, but the rock they climb is the same as the mens, and it's the rock we're here for.

Your suits may have a different cut, but the air they fly through is the same as the mens, and it's the air we're here for.

I doubt your "ladyflier" will outfly your Mach 1. If you're building suits with less performance for women who have equal experience and physical capability, then I think thats condecending.
