I completely agree.... You are buying something at a valid lower then normal market value that was generated by a ban by multiple H/C manufacturers. People want to sell them now compared to waiting to see if they come back in value. Buying them at a few hundred or less is fine as the seller wants to gt rid of it, no one is making them agree to sell at a lower price. People take risks all the time in the money markets around the world by being willing to risk an investment on a future return. Why not! If a seller is trying to sell at an inflated price based on the current situation to uninformed buyers then shame on him but the act of buying them and betting they return in value os 100% Fine.... Out of curiosity, what FAR's require pilots to wear parachutes while formation flying, flight testing, or dropping parachutes? As a pilot, I'm only aware of 91.307 which only requires all occupants to wear parachutes when carrying non-required crew members if the pitch or bank angles exceed 30 or 60 degrees, respectively. Pursuant to FAR 91.307 (c), approved parachutes are mandatory for flight operations that will exceed 60 degrees of bank or 30 degrees of pitch relative to the horizon. The only exception to this is spin training administered by a CFI to a Flight Instructor Applicant seeking a spin training endorsement (this endorsement states, in part, that the Applicant has demonstrated instructional competency in spin entry, spins, and spin recovery techniques). Even though parachutes are not required in this special case, it is recommended that they be used nonetheless, if available. If you are engaged in spin training for any other reason, or if you'll be performing other maneuvers that will exceed 30 degrees of pitch attitude and/or 60 degrees of bank, parachutes are required equipment. Though I don't have the reference in front of me, it is common to see Otter pilots not wearing a bailout rig. When asked about it long time ago I was told that the Bulkhead wall between the "cabin" and the "cockpit" precluded the need for the pilot to wear a parachute. I sure thought it was challenging! I clearly needed to eat more donuts! Here is an idea, Have Tony convert your suit to have zippers for over the shoulder and down the body root. You can then get the benefit of the drive the tail gives but can zip on a smaller wing. A true convertible Wingsuit! Just be sure to put the matched pair of wings on. Like Spot said I would love to see pics of the work. It sounds like you did it yourself? On the leg wing how did you approach the expansion, 5" on each side ? Maybe the 10" in the Middle? How about cells? The other ad-ons I can easily see and have done but the leg wing adjustment and what you did is of interest.... Again, would love to see some pics. That wing looks a LOT like a Stealth 2 wing that is on the website pic I attached here? The Ghost 2 did not have that big taper down the body if I remember correctly. If so they seem to have really increased the wing size on the ghost that much? What did they do with the tail (I cant see in your pic) to balance it out some? Scott C.
