  1. First off, thanks to all that came out. I have some shots with people in slot that would qualify for a record if what was in the pic was the planned jump, which they are not. The weekend was hampered a bit when after 2 "figuring stuff out" jumps, mid day on Sat winds kicked up to low 20's with gusts approaching 30. Though this did keep the group on the ground for the afternoon, some creative kite flying providing for entertainment. Later in the day some wind relief did come allowing for a few more jumps. With the Sunday weather not looking too promising, we got 2 x 5 way attempts to build a formation to judge. Kyle, who had flown base had to leave earlier, so we were giving it a go with a different set up. It was close but not finished for a CO record. Sunday we found an inviting sky but as we had worried about, the weather gave 20'ish mph winds with gusts in the upper 20's, not optimal for safe jumps. It was the smart thing to not jump in these conditions, though we did try to rationalize it we ended with the smart decision. All in all it was a fun weekend though we did only get 4 jumps in and I am looking forward to trying again in the future. I have no doubt if the weather had helped us we would have some great pics for a new CO record for Formation Wingsuiting....... Few pics attached from the weekend. thanks again to all that came out.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. That sounds like a firm reason for anyone to abandon the rules and safety requirements you would normaly claim to swear by. As I read it I don't think that JT did anything other then take a FFC for his added knowledge from DSE at MOAB. He also noted talking to Sean as well in addition to the BMI program from Scott. In the other thread he noted hyis experience and that the military had asked him to develop a WS program for his students.. I don't think that the "rules" of USPA or any manufacturer would preclude the military from moving forward with the instructors they have for their program irregardless of what civilians think. They have their First jump students do solo freefall and will have cadets do stadium jumps with a jump number far lower then what a PRO rating would normally require. The military goes by their rules and not the outside worlds. I commend JT and the others for actively looking for more knowledge and trying to implement a strong system as they have apparently been tasked to do. Again as I understand the military he did not need to reach out for the info to develop a program for the military. But if they are moving forward with a program it most certainly will be by military rules and not USPA or manufacturer rules... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  3. Looking forward to the weekend! Bags getting packed, gear good to go.... Just checked the latest weather and it is noting Partly Cloudy which is not sounding too bad especially as I like to look at that as Mostly Sunny with Puffies! Hope to see a good number of birds out to fly and have some fun Sat Morning! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  4. Paul, I have had my Neptune tell me many many times i deployed high or it registered no freefall time... It will still have recorded the freeefall speeds in the 4 capture zones it displays. Also if you down load to Parqlog and look at the graph you can get a good Freefall time as the opening will generally be a noticeable bump in the graph.. 7. Once you have hit the "print Screen" and have it on the clipboard open "Paint" it should be in the accessories folder under All Programs. On the upper left you will see a paste button. Click it and it should put the print screen clipboard image there. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  8. This will be a fun weekend giving another chance to get Western Birds flying together before the weather really starts to cause a southerly migration! Yes we want to see a State Record for CO but the emphasis will be on Fun Flocks.. Lets look forward to being able to do jumps with verticals, docking, baton passes and maybe even a distance run. Interested in your First Flight, let me know.. Flying a King air with nice floater set up on the plane at this up jumper friendly Dropzone. All bundled up the weekend will offer a chance to learn some new stuff, Play with old and new friends in the air and most importantly feed your nylon crack addiction! Scott C. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colorado Wingsuiters! Old man winter is knocking on the door, come on out for a flocking good time to wrap up the season. Skydive Empire at Fort Morgan municipal airport, October 9-10. DZ it old school style with outdoor packing, grilling and fire pit, the only modern convenience is the King Air!!! - Organizer: Scott Callantine - $25 King Air loads - Skill building loads - bring out your fresh nylon - Record loads - the record to beat in Colorado is a 0 way, we can do it!!! The bird house on wheels will offer us debrief protection from the rays. If you are coming along please PM\email me so I can figure out if we need extra porta potties and sausages. We can send loads on the 8th if there is enough interest. Simon PS: You don’t need to be a Colorado wingsuiter to come.... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  9. Pete is putting HMA lines on my 135 now. Looking forward to getting it back and trying it out. No pocket on the slider though... but I was generally using that canopy for just wingsuiting... Why not change the slider and just use the HMA lines to see if that works better. Pocket on a old Sabre 170 I had back in the early/mid 90's did a great job of slowing the openings down to a nice pace compared to with out it.. Easy and low cost fix option. 10. Are you the pitcher or the catcher in the sponsor / sponsor'ie relationship? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. I have used a number of canopies but have had the best luck with the tried and true Sabre (not "2" but the original) I have had 3 of them and currently fly a 135 loaded at about 1.6 As long as the lines are in trim the canopy is awesome and performs well..... Lots of good options but the Sabre is a great choice.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  12. I am sure it was just the Wide Angle Lens on the camera...... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  13. PM, did you really need to clarify that fact??? Nice job on the video and on the flying last weekend! Thanks to everyone who came...... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  14. Been jumping the Liquid "gasket" for a few years now and really like it. Fits my face well and I have had very little issue with RW, Wingsuit, Camera Jumps, basically anything I have been doing. Durable and does a good job... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  15. To the OP, Really Nice looking suit, Have fun.. To Sangi: What is it with the hating on the Flocking. Just showing his nice new suit and you go "there" crazy..... why don't you just revive one of the many "Flocking is not Real Flying" threads.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. French put up a 26 to Airspeed's 23. Panthers were the only other team in the 20's so the French Jump must have been Awesome. Hope if comes up online somewhere. WOW, they really stepped up on that round and were clearly ahead of the rest looking at the scores.. Congrats and WOW... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  17. WOW, that must have been a awesome 4-way Open rd 10 by the French. Tied with Airspeed going in and they put up a 26 to Airspeed's 23. Panthers were the only other team in the 20's so the French Jump must have been Awesome. What a meet (followed on Skyleague) and congrats.. I was half hoping for a Jump-Off. Is this the first meet that there was a member doubling up the Gold with 4 and 8? I think one of the French team members that was doing Open 4 and 8 way. If so Congrats to him as well. Scott C. 21. Funny one Amazon... I am thinking he meant this http://seattleindoorskydiving.com/ I have not talked to Bill on this to know the current status but as I understood it, they were planning on building the tunnel somewhere near South Center Mall... Last I heard was sometime this year was going to be groundbreaking. No idea if that has adjusted.... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
