  1. I'm pretty sure my friend Steve stopped reading this posting as no one here will offer any sign of approval to his decision. Not to violate my friend's privacy but I had a nice talk with him this morning as he's my very close friend and I believe all of you very fine people have finally broke the shell. He came to realize that maybe it wasn't a great idea to downsize like that or maybe he's never got so much hell in his life before and wants us to shut up, but at least he's now considering selling his canopy and buying a 170 semi elliptical. I even suggested a Crossfire 2 189 and he seemed quite interested, so if you know anyone out there who's selling such canopy or that wants to trade for a Samurai 136, please drop him or myself a line. This is a big achievement ladies and gentlemen. My friend Steve is a wonderful person and I love him dearly(in a non-gay way), but oh boy he is the biggest stubborn ass I've ever met. Thank you all for your effort, it was well worth it. I am proud and happy to have such a great family of people who care about each other and have so much respect and love for the sport that will not allow anyone to ruin the fun for others. 2. Englihs is not my first language, but I was being Sarcastic mate. No offense taken, Although I find it rather inappropriate for you to call me that. I bought this canopy an an introduction to Xbraced canopies. I went by the book in terms of recommended number of jumps and minimum wing loading. I can say I'm having a lot of fun flying it and I love the openings as a camera flyer. With my light wing loading on it, I don't feel its considerably faster than my 99, but I can see how if could put me or anyone in a bad situation. I have had a couple of situations yet in which I had to evade canopies and change my course by doing flat turns, but I can't say it has scared me yet. This is a whole new beast and I'm enjoying the learning curve behind it. I'm enjoying each hop&pop, so it's one of those calculated risks versus pleasure deals. As I read this forum, I can't help but feeling somewhat at fault for my fast downsizing. I don't do it to be cool, I just feel the need for speed and the Xaos gives me just that rush. I'm considering selling my Xaos and buying yet another XF2 99 since I was having so much fun swooping that canopy anyway and I believe it probably is a better fit and a more conservative canopy. I do however believe that currency and good coaching as well as practice and a humble attitude towards the sport are what make us good canopy pilots. My 2 pesos Freakfly.ca coming soon
  3. Steve my good friend, I think by posting this and by simply reading this thread you have acquired the balls and knowledge to borrow my Xaos 83 which I bought because it was cheaper to buy it than having to spend the money relining my Crossfire2 99, ha ha ha. I can't really judge you or try to change your mind 'cuz I know you're as stubborn as a blind mule, but I do hope that you keep that day job so in then event that you have another injury at least you can work from home. 4. I started jumping at PST in April 2008 and this dropzone is great. I was welcomed immediately as a member of a big family. A great place to learn to skydive and to have fun. varied experience levels and plenty of eager coaches to help everyone through their student progression. Make sure to check out the PST Promo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd-bcxdqNiI I hope to see you all there. Blue Skies
  5. Hi, all This is not official, but I just called Niagara freefall and spoke to a staff member. He said they may very well be opening this weekend, that they were just waiting for a license. He did say that this was a recirculating wind tunnel, but from what I heard it's small and big enough for 1 on 1 training. He said the price is $70 per 3 minute session, and was rather confused when I asked him about the price per minute and per hour, so I wonder if they are even interested on catering for skydivers as much as for whuffos. Nonetheless, I would check it out next weekend and bring you more unofficial updates. Freakfly.ca coming soon
  6. I'm just getting into filming tandems and I've been doing my video editing on the laptop and using an external drive to burn. It's taking me over an hour by the time I upload a 10 minute video, edit on Sony Vegas, render and burn the DVD. Any suggestions on hardware that will allow me to firewire the video from the camera to the burner and put music, tittles and slow mos under 30 minutes? I hope it isn't too pricey. Thanks
  7. Thanks a lot guys. I am definitely buying it from ebay. Blue Skies "Long live the Battery" Freakfly.ca coming soon
  8. Silly question, but I was wondering if it's ok to use other brands of Batteries for a PC1000?. There are some sweet deals on new batteries on ebay, but I wonder if they would cause any damage to the camera. Thank you here's the ebay link: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=sony+pc1000+battery&category0= Freakfly.ca coming soon
  9. I have owned a few canopies、mostly Sabres and jumped some Stilettos, but until then I never felt fully satisfied with any of them until I got my Cobalt 120. Not only this canopy opens smooth, on heading and fast, but it also flies beautiful and it glides forever on landing. As well, due to the different ZP fabric it is never hard to pack it despite the temperature, even if the canopy is brand new. It is a very responsive fully ellyptical but not unforgiving and shifty or twitchy as other canopies out there. and to finish if what you are looking for is looks. The double diamonds in contrasting color look awesome. I am simply in love with cobalt and I can't wait to get my Cobalt 105 next week.
  10. Well, it loos like I'm one more unhappy customer. I order a special suit from these people. The calavera design actually. they told me it would take 4-6 weeks to be delivered, wich i thought sounded rather proper. after 7 weeks I emailed my dealer and they said it was delayed to due damages caused by the Hurricane in the states, but, isn't their prodcution plant in Uruguay? Anyways they took another 4 weeks before my second email, then they promissed they'll send it by express courier. I kept buggin my dealer and at some point I even asked for my money back, which never happened. So, "6 months" later they email us asking for my measures again, after they ahd already told us that the suit was made and ready to be shipped. Not to make this story really long, it took me 11 months before I got my jumpsuit. Although the design of the calavera suit is very unique and stands out on any dropzonem, the quality sucks; the right armpit got ripped after the second jump.I had to put a patch on it to hold it together before it rips to shreds. Buttom line is: Do not order from Kurupee suits Do not become a dealer for them, they'll make you look bad and even your own suit will take for ever. Not to mention the times that you'll have to send them back due to problems with measures and colors. Kurupee suits SUCKS THE BIG ONE!!!!
