  1. If they bother you that much you could always patch the canopy, but that seems a bit overkill. Yeah, I think I´ll just get used to it... but thanks for all who replied! Cheers! When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  2. I do remember, it was sunny/cloudy (video´d a Tandem that day). This might shed some light into this topic: http://www.bigsiteofamazingfacts.com/why-do-rubber-bands-melt-and-disintegrate-as-they-age-and-how-does-uv-light-and-heat-speed-up-the-process/ It would be great if I could get rid of the stains though.. sucks. 3. Thanks for the reply gowlerk. It was kept in my bedroom all times, but I guess this was not enough . From the colour I would say the rubber bands caused the stain, but why then it has the grommet´s shape? Maybe some Chemical reaction? go figure... 4. Hi all, My VX (backup rig) was packed for almost a year. When I opened it today for a Reserve repack, I noticed the rubber stows melted and stained the canopy a bit with the gromets (they are stainless Steel, so not really sure who´s the culprit here). Now I got 4 "donut shaped" stains on the top skin. Any way to remove it? Any fabric safe products I could try? Thanks in advance and blue Skies. 5. Same here. Openings are better but still a VX. Overall performance increase is very noticeable, especially the rear riser input. The usual VX "slack" on the D lines while pulling the front riser is gone too. Have fun. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.

  7. Try baseball batting gloves. I have a pair from adidas and I simply love them: they are thin (good feel), super tacky, flexible and low bulk. I bought mine at Dick´s sporting goods. Cheers. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  8. Another vote for the Pilot here. I jumped Sabre 1&2´s and the Pilot had better openings, was more responsive and produced more lift during the flare, that´s my impression of the wing. Cheers. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  9. Now, I had been taught to always make sure the pin was "smiling". But I jump a Mirage G4. Should I be turning my pin over so that it's "frowning"? Furthermore, is this actually better in terms of making it less likely that the pin pierces the bridle? I own a Wings W-5 and the "Natural" position of the pin (without any twists* and keeping the bridle window visible) is "frowning". My backup W-2 makes a smiley though. *to the tape that links the pin to the bridle. Cheers. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  10. Hi there, I also own a Mamba and I experienced the same thing as you did at the beginning. After a while it broke in and the helmet fits like a glove now, I couldn´t be happier with its performance and fit. p.s. It may sound silly but make sure you put it the right way (See photo attached). When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  11. There´s some jumps going on at Barra da Tijuca (Rio de Janeiro), but not regularly (Cessna 182 at 10.000ft). Your best bet in Rio will be Skydive Resende. The dropzone is operational every weekend and they have a Cessna Caravan going up t 12.000ft. https://www.facebook.com/skydive.resende?fref=ts Cheers! 12. The best one in São Paulo will be CNP (Centro Nacional de Paraquedismo) in Boituva. https://www.facebook.com/pages/CNP-Centro-Nacional-de-Paraquedismo-National-Skydiving-Center/170728909624791 When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  13. Hi, Do some high pulls. Start your 270 as usual and practice the transition up high. It should be second nature, no need to look at where you´re grabbing (Not to mention it´s safer too, since you are not looking elsewhere on your approach). It´s also very important to know the Stall point on your wing while on rears. Great article on rear riser stall: http://parachutistonline.com/safety_training/foundations-flight/rear-riser-stalls You can also practice doing a straight in approach with just a lil of double fronts if needed. This will lessen other factors such as speed and setup altitude, leaving you with more time to react and focus just on the rears (getting the feel of it). Hope it helps! Blue skies. 16. I have hundreds of jumps with Stilettos and never had a problem with it´s openings: Flew ST´s 170, 150, 135, 120 and 97. Only had 1 line twist with the 120 (due to a sloppy packing) and it cleared itself before I tried to kick it out. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  17. Good job!! keep up the good work man. Cheers! When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  18. Did the package come properly sealed? (Round adhesive (seal) on each side)? When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  19. I have 2 VISO2 and one Optima2 and I simply love them: Product quality, customer service, and functionality are excellent in my opinion. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.

  21. You adopt a new currency: JUT (Jump Ticket) e.g. 1 McDonald´s meal = 1/2 Jump Ticket, 1 hair cut = 2 Jump Tickets and so forth.. p.s. I swear I think this way. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  22. I did. Great guy. I learned a lot and he's very focused on safety and passionate about it. Couldn't recommend more. p.s. After the course he was always helpful and willing to keep sharing his knowledge, then you know It's not about the money. Blue Skies. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  23. Hi, I own a W-5 and a W-2. Love´em both! Perfect body fit and super comfotable in and out of sky. I love how it hold its shape when closed. W-5 has a VX-94sqft which fits pretty good. The W-2 has a XAOS 21 - 98sqft that also fits good but a lil tighter. Cheers. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
  24. I would say one reason is because they´re more "difficult" for a rigger to pack. That´s what I hear from them. When in Danger or in doubt run in circles scream and shout.
