In the words of the great Othar.... "HAHA JT got banned!" SabreDave
  5. The SPCA should charge you for feeding that disgusting poisonous crap to your cat! Did it survive?? Poor kitty. I would eat the cat's food first given the choice SabreDave
  6. Keelpocket = tailpocket makes way more sense than tarp = canopy SabreDave
  7. Well, my packing methods cost zero dollars, can you get me a pocket slider for that price?? Also, packing is something that interests me. I have tried many different things over the years on my skydive gear and BASE gear. I thnk it is a good thing to know the myriad differnt packing methods, ideas, tweeks etc.... Wasting money on gear when a change in packing can fix things seems pointless to me. SabreDave
  8. A girl in my Journalism class a couple years ago was given the name "Cocklips" for the year...still signs her emails that way!
  9. Sounds like everyone is just trying to make their fiction the dominant one......................!?!?! I'll tell ya the real truth, the only truth that is true to be true...............truth NO wait, I won't because to say that anyone way IS THE WAY, that any ONE RELIGION/SPIRITULISM IDEAL is the right one....well, that's just pretty fucking ignorant now isn't it. 11. I was close enough to have my heart racing as much as on exit, yet far enough away as to not be really stupid Of course I never got between her and the yearling which was big enough to be scary by itself. When she was still 60-80 yards away I started making "some" noise so she would know I was there. She was not concerned by my presence thankfully. This was first thing in the morning but on the way down 5-6 hours later there she was again right on the side of the trail and that was way too close for me. Luckily she ran as soon as we rounded the corner. There is a bumper crop of Buffalo berries this year so ast least they aren't hungry! SHe sure is a nice looking bear and I am glad to have seen her. It has been a few years since I was that close to a Grizz. Now, we just have to pray that she moves on so they don't close the area before it's normal closing date! SabreDave
  12. So, we all know BASE is a dangerous game but sometimes getting to and from the exit point can have some "unusual" dangers with big teeth This is mama-bear grizzly, yearling-bear is in the trees! These are from Sunday at our local big wall, nice jump 587 and Crwper!! SabreDave
  13. Missed this one when first reading............ Yeah, I HAVE jumped without a reserve on at least 50+ jumps, one of those from an aircraft. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to jump my single parachute system on skydives. It's called understanding the gear, the limits and having some skills to back that up. Seriously though........say right now they pulled ADD's off the market for whatever reason, would you still skydive? When I climb I have no computer to9 save me, when I am backcounty skiing, again no computer and I could go on. In these kinds of sports self reliance is king. Skydiving shouldn't be an acception! AGain, I think they are good things but to say people are foolish for not using one shows total ignorance! SabreDave
  14. You needed another answer on the poll. No, I don't jump with an AAD but I sure wouldn't turn off a cypress if I was jumping anpther rig. As for foolish, big words from somebody who hasn't put much time into the sport! It's relative dude. Plenty of people would call you foolish, even totally stupid for even participating in the sport of skydiving. I am 34 years-old, in a few weeks it will be my 16th anniversary of my first jump. FXC's were all over the student gear I started on but even back then when I bought my first rig (never have owned an AAD) jumping without one didn't bother me. I truly believe that if jumping WITHOUT an AAD makes you (meaning anyone) nervous then reconsider your participation in this sport. I will clarify that I think modern, accurate AAD's are great things, I don't discourage anyone from having one but to rely on it is fucking stupid and lame. The sport of skydiving has seen in influx of people that wouldn't have jumped 15 years ago and feel warm and fuzzy about it now because of technology that they think will save their ass and the sexy MTV, cool thing to do factor. Food for thought.....in the last say 3-4 years, how many people died due to low/no pull where an AAD would have saved them? Now, how many people have been crippled or killed flying small, heavily loaded canopies where flying something non-elliptical loaded 1:1 would have saved their ass? I'm foolish for not jumping with an AAD? Laughable.... Besides, everyone knows that BASE is the safe way to go, no plane crashes, no AAD, no stinkin reserve canopy taking up space, just you, your brain and total self-reliance SabreDave
  15. NO! Once a cheater.....always a cheater. Another thing to keep in mind is that the person that she is "hypothetically" cheating with is also a major fucking asshole and should have his ass beaten to the ground for being such a selfish, immature fuckwit! Hope that clears it up for you?!!? Karma is a bitch......what goes around, comes around! SabreDave
  16. Wrong on both counts dude....and it was a fun night thanks! SabreDave

  19. No Injuries 3 point 4 way from 3,000 ft. 5 second delay from 1900 for fun. And it wasn't actually a weather hold but one 20 second delay from 3,200 feet out of an ultra light The most memorable ones for sure...... SabreDave
  20. Oh good grief Charlie Brown. Spence, immediately remove those pink panties and wash the sand out of your vagina. Pargliders are like golf clubs.......great if your over 50. C'ya in a few days, I'm sure we can blow that sand out with a terminal jump for ya! SabreDave
  21. I know someone will flame the shit out of me if I'm wrong but............. Wasn't the Falcon the only 9 cell TSO'd as a reserve? The jumps I have done were on a 235, opeings were brisk all the way to painfully fast. Does it have dacron or spectra lines? Even a static line with spectra could add more pain to the situation. Body Armour

http://tinyurl.com/qcujc I recently bought the Six Six One pressure jacket! Cheaper thean Dainese, but seems pretty bomber. My rig is tight without armour and though it is a little tougher to get it on once it is on it doesn't add alot of bulk! SabreDave
  23. I think the bike rack at recess might be more suitable....... SabreDave
  24. My original post was in response to MattM’s “Its not illegal to BASE jump”. That’s like saying it is not illegal to drive at 150 mph in a school zone. It is just illegal to get caught. BASE jumpers act like cloak and dagger people from the cold war talking in whispers and code. Then claim what they do is not illegal. If its not what are they hiding from whom?Quote I only have about 50 BASE jumps a few grey area jumps sure but not alot of cloak and dagger. I am not hiding from anyone. Almost all of my BASE jumps have been perfectly legal, done in broad daylight, with no hiding. Sorry man but you are a BASE whuffo.... SabreDave
