  1. That was so clean it was almost erotic! SabreDave
  2. Not so funny to joke about death?? You should change your avatar as it might offend anyone who has a friend killed while trespassing. IN fact, some BASE jumpers have been killed while tresspassing so you must be an insensetive person!!??? Or maybe, getting all upset about such trivial things is a little overboard?? Nick, don't sweat it man, it WAS funny. If I end up as crow food at the bottom of a wall please put my list description permantly in Shizzle Wizzle mode! SabreDave
  3. I second that.................. WTF? SabreDave
  4. Interesting.......... I find that I keep in touch with all my friends from all walks of life. Life is so much bigger than skydiving. Another interesting thing I have found to be true is that the term "whuffo" is all relative......... Skydivers are some of the worst whuffos in the world. Just try explaining BASE to most skydivers and you'll see what I mean. SabreDave
  5. In reality the card should be re-formatted after every shooting session and of course after it is on your HD or somewhere safe. Having worked as a newspaper and freelance photographer I can tell you that this will save you grief in the long run. Don't have time to list them (reasons) all now but you have nothing to lose and alot to gain be formatting (in camera) on a regular basis. Here is a huge amount of info on digi photography and related stuff. www.robgalbraith.com SabreDave

  10. QuoteActually that shot is after the tailgate let go.Quote Doesn't look that way to me................... And if it is after, it is about 1/1000th of a second after........... What do you see in the pic I don't? How about the second one? I call tailgate still holding SabreDave
  11. Here is a shot of what it looks like right before the tailgate lets go.............. SabreDave
  12. This is not a fucking team sport! This is not NASCAR, not NFL or any of that other lame-assed crap. In fact BASE is NOT a sport at all as far as I am concerned. It is an activity, it is beautiful, it can consume you, it will take you to your highest highs and your lowest lows. BASE is more like a hard drug addiction than anything else. Those that act like BASE is some competetive sport are the rejects trying to make their existence seem to have some kind of meaning. More and more this is the type that is entering BASE. If you actually (unlikely) get to a point where you are BASE jumping I hope you can mature a whole lot or there will be few people but the fuckheads and rejects that are gonna want to be anywhere near you including your idols. Seriously, you HAVE TO BE A TROLL since I find it hard to believe anyone could come by your lack of understanding honestly. Now go play with your GI Joe or something for fuck's sake. SabreDave
  13. Yeah, Another vote for wow. Very powerful imagery, thanks for sharing those! Peace SabreDave

    New Forum

Ahhh, I see your back!? Just taking a break from the "kick ass" forum? Now to your most recent.......... So you know how long she may have been lurking here?? And I see you should practice what you preach. Go jump off something instead of posting so much!?!? Or did I not undertand what you meant by jump more, post less? Kids these days............ SabreDave
  15. Thanks Never even thought of that. That is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of. ExAFO, nice unit but I don't want a weapon that I can't sail with to certain countries. Looking for stealth, standard mariner gear that in a pinch could fire something real. Basically something you could even roll into England with........... SabreDave
  16. Anyone here have experience with, or knowledge of a 10 or 12 gauge marine flare gun that will also SAFELY fire their equivalent ammunition? This is something I have been trying to find but have had no luck. There must be something like this out there? Seems a logical thing to have when sailing open water in general but definately for certain areas of the world. Anyway, it is a gift for someone I would like to find. Any info appreciated. SabreDave

    New Forum

SO WTF are you still doing here?? I love it when a "new" forum for BASE comes up or when out of nowhere "Blinc is on fire". Yet, seems lots of people keep coming back here to tell the rest of us how good it is............. If it really is that good, why keep coming back?? I know you won't answer because you will be too dedicated to the new "kick ass" forum. Thanks for coming. SabreDave
  18. If watersports don't get your adrenaline flowing, you're not doing it right! I'll pick you up at eight SabreDave
  19. Wrong, it was actually funny! I know this to be true because it made me laugh. Good one SabreDave
  20. Hmmmm, I guess the ones I have must be a halucination!? Some facts from the US gov't...... There are an estimated 7.4 million firearms in Canada(NFA estimates 15 million), about 1.2 million of which are restricted firearms (mostly handguns). In the U.S., there are approximately 222 million firearms; 76 million of the firearms in circulation are handguns. For 1987-96, on average, 65% of homicides in the U.S. involved firearms, compared to 32% for Canada For 1987-96, the average firearm homicide rate was 5.7 per 100,000 in the U.S., compared to 0.7 per 100,000 for Canada. For 1989-95, the average handgun homicide rate was 4.8 per 100,000 in the U.S., compared to 0.3 per 100,000 for Canada. Handguns were involved in more than half (52%) of the homicides in the U.S., compared to 14% in Canada. For 1989-95, the average non-firearm homicide rate was 3.1 per 100,000 people in the U.S., compared to 1.6 per 100,000 for Canada. Not packing handguns around doesn't mean we don't have them. We just don't have as many. Handgun registration has been in effect in this country since 1934. I like guns, I own guns but I am perfectly ok with not being able to pack a Glock around. I would have to check but one used to be able to pack a pistol in areas such as Baffin and the far north for protection from bears and angry Muskox. My dad worked up above the arctic circle for awhile back in the day and packed a .44 with the blessings of the RCMP. SabreDave
  21. QuotePersonally, I like to see two things in prospective jumpers: 1. A desire to put as much or more effort into their preparation as I did and do. Quote THe only problem there is how fast that bar comes down. The persons looking at these parameters may have gotten into it themselves at a level that those that came before them would consider too low. It's all perspective I guess?!?! I don't get it, the whole rush into the sport, those that must have this now, running (with scissors) before walking. BASE will always be there, what's the rush everyone? I know I don't want it to get much busier around here and it's really not that busy............ SabreDave
  22. Rifle. To the best of my knowledge I don't think I have ever seen a lever action shotgun. SabreDave
  23. Seems to be the overall theme so far in this new forum. Wow, I remember how fun it was to swear and curse in excess for no good reason at all, I think I was about 7-years-old. Maybe it will improve over there and become something useful but I won't hold my breath...... And people thought this was the dorkzone!! SabreDave
