  1. The only thing I remember about my first tandem, is praying the tandem instructor would stop with the damn corksrew turns. I thought I was going to hurl. Other than that....it's a blur. Thankfully, I had it videotaped. Too much adrenalin and endorphins pumping I reckon.
  2. I'm not sure if this should be posted her, but what the hey. I know this is a completely esoteric topic, but has anyone ever jumped with 2 torn quadriceps? I tore both of mine in a softball game (next time, I should warm up). I am going to jump tomorrow and just realized I can't bend my legs into the correct belly to earth position without pain. I can just see myself turning and burning because I can't get the correct aerodynamic flow happening. I tried it out, and I can hold the correct position for a few minutes, but the legs are in pain afterward. Anyone experience this? 3. Selling plasma..I think I just got a shout out ! Look at it this way, plasma regenerates, so you have a constant source of jump money Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  4. I am recently off AFF, so here is my advice. Read as much as you can when not in sky. The advice and suggestions I read here are invaluable. But remember, the info is only as good as the source. When going through AFF, the biggest problems I had were remembering the diveflow. There was a lot I had to remember, and I was scared to screw up anything. Let's see, diving exit, swoop to instructor, dock, redock, right 360, left 360, backflip and wave off at 4.5. Oh god, I'll never remember!!! But the dives I thought were sunk, the instructor said I did terrific! Keep the faith. Just look forward to your first unsupervised dive. THAT is incredible. You see the tandems and AFF'ers and think, "Been there, done that." Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  5. I have: 1. Actually knocked someone out while sparring in boxing, 2. did a "ride along" with the Blue Angels. Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  6. I have been jumping for 14 months and still only have 15 jumps...thanks to medical crap, but I am still in the game. You feel betta now? Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  7. I think I just fell in love...errrrrrrrrrrrr, lust. So, How You doin'? Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  8. I think I have said this before...need more capital? I recommed: 1. Ebay, and 2. Plasma Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  9. Yup...that was it. I pulled the arm in, dropped the shoulder a bit and straightened and closed the legs. Roll, Roll,Roll,Roll,Roll,Roll. Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  10. I have had the pleasure of having Blincdaddy coach me at SkyVenture in Orlando. He REALLY knows his shizznit. He is very laid back and doesn't pressure you. At the time, I only had 4 jumps under my belt (3 tandems), so his laid back tutorial approach helped a lot. Plus, I got a free copy of Anomaly...wooohooooooo Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  11. I just thought of a question. I am just off AFF and have been solo for about 4 jumps now. At his time, since I have no instructor to grade me, I am basically working on basics in freefall. I try barellrolls about 2wice a jump but can't seem to complete one. I get into a relaxed belly to earth position, then bring in one arm to my chest, where no part of my arm extends past my torso. I think I should start rolling, but I usually get about halfway and come to a stop. Reflexively, I tried to kick around which really screws things up. Arch, Arch, Arch, and I am back to belly to earth. I have no problem with regaining stability after the disorienting maneuver, but I wish I could get the damn barrellroll down...Any suggestions? 12. Unfortunately, it doesn't get you high. But that is the reason I do it, to get HIGH. Quite a paradox Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  13. Pensacola? That's my hometown, but I live in Tallahassee now and jump out of Quincy. I've never actually jumped from Elberta, but hung out on the ground while my cousin was making his tandem. Real nice and cool peps. Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  14. You get it from your own body, that's the Great part! Just sit in the chair, let them run a 15 gauge needle into your arm, sit back, DON'T close your eyes or the workers will yell at you, and watch the plasma drip from your veins (combined with some blood platlets). I can get a couple of jumps from one sitting Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
  15. Debt? As I have posted in another discussion group, thank God for: 1. Plasma, and 2. Ebay And not necessarily in that order Confuscious say: "It take many nail to make a baby crib...but only one screw to fill it."
