I'd guess its in your heart. I've known people that were jumpers before they ever stepped out of a plane. They are/were magic to jump with and watch. Its like the circus. Jumper friend of mine got a new next door neighbor. He and his family were invited over. This was in the 70's. The guy had a pic of himself in a rig on the mantle. First try stuff on. See if its comfortable, standing and sitting. When you find something comfortable, borrow or rent it, for a couple jumps. Ask people why they jump the gear they have and not some other brand. Don't ask really famous people cause they are jumping what's free. When you have heard the bad stuff about gear, analyze that data and see if its so bad you don't want it. You will find a lot of brand loyalty. Some DZ's you will see everyone jumping brand A. If you're rig bites you its usually a couple things to look for. It doesn't fit right; your cranking the chest strap tight and/or you are head down/tracking when you pull. Try some other peoples rigs on. First without doing up the chest or leg straps. Will it stay on when you move, sit etc. Then hook up the straps and see if it feels the same. Then jump it. Some rigs just don't work for some people. A friend of mine tried to give me rigs for years. They are fine rigs and thousands of people love them, but they never felt good to me.
