  1. So, now that we have compiled a list of participants, let's arrange for rides, shall we? I, myself am a friendly traveler who listens to any music and doesn't need to go to the bathroom too often. What more do you need on a roadtrip? No seriously, I live in the east bay and am looking to carpool out there. Spare the air, man!
  2. Fry me up a kipper, I'll be there come morning! Ever realize how saying MOAB boogie is like saying PIN number?
  3. from CU Boulder. and I shall also take this opportunity to give a plug for the club we just started: www.colorado.edu/studentgroups/freefallers
  4. ya but then what about the rest of my brizeak? will all the cool toys still be there?
  5. alright, you split the cost of me getting to dublin, and pick me up, and buy me a jump, and a steak, and i'll see you there! right. eloy is still looking like the best option. eloy to so cal is about a hand and a half length on one of those big road atlases. technically speaking. so i aint going there, esp if im solo, cuz id go nuts. (more so)....
  6. Dublin would be my first choice...but the boogie ends on the first weekend of my spring break! I would get there for the last day of the boogie. . I'm definetely driving somehwere. Does anyone know how long of a dirve from Eloy to Perris or Elsinore?
  7. oi! Andre from danville, I jump @ Byron. I'm not always there in the state, but when I am, that's where I go.
  8. So I want to travel to a cool dz for my spring break...I'm up in Colorado. It is the 3rd (i think) week of march. Where should I go? I figured Arizona, but maybe there's some insane boogie going on in some far off land... And more importantly, are there any other kollege studuntz who want to go? "I think I bent my wookie."--Ralph Wiggum
  9. Way to go Dave! back safe and sound...must have been a good skydive. But aren't we trained to keep both hands on ONE handle at a time, rather than one on each, thus preventing an out of sequence rip? let me know when the beer is coming
  10. i'm aboot to buy a "relative separates" jump suit from flite suit co. any feedback on flite suits in general? or the rw separates. they are a 2 piece rw suit.
  11. I've only been to Eloy once and that was last year...apparently there was some record cold going on, so it wasn't quite typical.... To add perspective, I'm a guy who ain't from a warm weather state, and I did find it cold until the peak of the day...always had gloves though. The nights got chilly. Very chilly. Ice-crusted tent walls on more than one morning. But my 20degree bag was good enough. Back to the original question...I'll be @ Lake Wales in Florida for New Year's, the 2004 collegiate nationals will be going on from the 27th-1st. Again, never jumped in Florida, but at least I know that is going on there. full and plare
  12. Where can I buy a new lineset for my PD canopy?
  13. gotcha. thanks very much for replying
  14. can you elaborate on where the bar-tacking comes in? and what of line continuity and recommended length...is it not preset?
  15. thanks everyone so the lines are labeled...that's what I thought was the case. I mean, so are cables on my vcr, but that don't mean the picture comes up first time I try to play something! I guess there is a good margin for f**king up here. thanks for all the responses so far... full and plare
  16. Can people give me a clue as to how a relining is accomplished? It sounds like a line set is purchased and it's set according to the application. If this is so, I'd figure a resourceful person could figure how to attach it to the bottom-skin, risers....But then again, it seems like everyone needing a reline sends it to the mfg.er or their rigger. So, what am I missing. I am hungry for knowledge.
  17. hey, no sweat bigway. No hard feelings, just safety first and fun a close second. I take into consideration everything that you and anyone else posts. full and plare
  18. From Fort Collins, I think Mile-Hi (Longmont) and Denver Skydivers (Brush) are probably equidistant. BUT, it is my personal recommendation that you go to Brush. Why? It is 2 bucks less for 1,000' more altitude. The ride up is either the same or quicker. People hang around at the end of the day, there's usually a bonfire. (Mile-Hi everyone goes home). The staff are much friendlier at Brush. Again, this is my personal opinion, but consider that I opt for the 100-mile drive to Brush over the 12-mile drive to Mile-Hi because I think it is that much better. (Oh, keep in mind that the name "denver skydivers" doesn't mean it is close, or the closest, to denver.) happy jumps
  19. ---If so though, i think he is in the wrong sport and if he thinks like this after 100 jumps that he actually has to ask...well he should stop skydiving as he does not have the right head on his shoulders to even think this.--- Well, thanks for the vote of confidence. Call me crazy, but I thought that forums were a place to share advice and knowledge from others who have been there before! Look at it this way: I DIDN'T chop a good main just to deploy my reserve. I ASKED about it first. This is where I see a difference between being wreckless and curious. I am curious about it, so I asked about it. Alright, knowledge gained, and I ain't going to do it. Do I still not have a good head on my shoulders?
  20. Any good reason not to dump my reserve when I'm about to get it repacked anyway?
  21. you got it, my freaky friend! alright, alright perhaps I ought not do it. but like I said, it was hypothetical....
  22. could be the alcoholic content of the air. Seriously though, I'm no scientician, but I'd figure that up @ altitude, her body was already producing more red blood cells to transport more O2 from the thinner air. The more salient explanation, though, is that among the excitement and adrenaline drip, she forgot/wasn't able to eat much food. full and plare.
