  1. Im in and Ive got about 7 more from my DZ that will "Jump at the chance" LOL
  2. West Viginia Skydivers skydivewv.com will be running skydiving operations at the airport on the South side of the bridge(WV59 Fayette Airport) from Oct 14 - 17 (thurs-sun of bridge weekend) Fun jumpers are more than welcome.
  3. Actually it doesn't matter what the SIM says (although I don't know). It matters what the manufacturer says. I seen guidelines along the lines of 500 jumps, AFF rating, 200 camera jumps before jumping camera with tandem etc. Although I've never heard of any place actually following the written guidelines to the letter. One manufacturer says that you need to be a Tandem I. An all should listen if there is an issue the manufacturer will not back you up.
  4. If you conact Red at Flight Concepts he will build you a Sharpchuter or Star Trac with a ZP top skin.
  5. Will be flying into Charlotte at noon on the 3rd if anyone needs a ride down to the DZ I already have a rental just let me know.
  6. WVSkydivers (www.skydivewv.com) is in Lesage, WV about 5 miles east of Huntington, WV and can provide Tandem, IAD or Tandem Progression as training methods. Hours are Fri 1pm to sunset, Sat and Sunday 8AM to Sunset or during the week as needed by appointment. As you are just getting into the sport I would suggest making an appointment anywhere you go. Tri-State Skydivers currently has issues with their aircraft and has to bring in aircraft from other DZ’s in the region. Have a good 1ST jump and welcome to the greatest sport on earth.
  7. What brake settings if any do you use on the HOP 330 tandem main. I have seen them with only the steering set and the flare lines banded to the tail, with no brakes like the Icarus tandems. Any suggestions? Currently using no brake settings and getting firm openings not painful but firm.
  8. u r a newby to juming right?
  9. The information to convert a Vector II tandem system to a solo/single jumper rig is posted on UPT's site under tandem rigging. "Tandem Vector Conversion for Solo Student"
  10. The week before bridge day West Virginia Skydivers will host a boogie at their new DZ in Lesage, WV. The only DZ in WV and the closest to the bridge. Full service RV hookups, tent camping with great “Amenities” hot showers and hospitality only like we can provide. We need feedback so we know how big of and aircraft to bring in. check our web site for up dates. www.skydivewv.com
  11. According to my great uncle It is the 503rd PIR. He made all of their jumps up to and including Corregidor where he broke his back and spent the rest of WWII in a hospital.
  12. Does anyone know about a small digital camera that has a remote trigger/shutter release.
  13. I will agree, talk with an instructor or better yet try a S&TA. Some instructors will want some sort of comp for their time, S&TA's are volunteers they will gladly set down and discuss this with you. Also remember every one is responsible for their own actions or lack of action. This applies if you are wearing a radio or not, so always think about what your actions will be during those "what if's". Have a good and safe next jump. Learn a lesson from Wrongway and stay away from the runways, he prefers lonely trees.
