  1. Should work great. One of the regular jumpers will probably buy it at that big of a discount. I was thinking that $1,000 would be a good deal. It's would be easy for anyone to verify that the account had the money. Seems that the DZ would facilitate the transfer upon you receiving the funds.
  2. Woo Hoo - thanks for listening. The problem we see with new jumpers that "read ahead" is they learn it incorrectly or learn things that are simply wrong. Then we spend time getting them to unlearn it. The instructors will teach you what you need when you need it. If you're above average they'll give you more, if below average it comes at a slower pace. All designed to not overload the student to the failure point.
  3. Guy meets hot chick in the bar, invites her to his place and she says yes. In further conversation he learns she's married. Guy: Why are you cheating? Her: Because he stutters and lies. Guy: Why is that a problem? She: Well, I'm a pharmacist. He came in to buy condoms and said he needed XXXXL. I proposed on the spot. On our wedding night I learned about the stuttering and lying. He should have asked for MMMM.
  4. missing the point simple: an AAD fire is not necessarily a "save", the manufacturer can't claim they have xxx saves because they have sold xxx cutters, there are plenty of instances when the AAD fired as programmed but the jumper had an open or opening main agree on the being low comments but that doesn't mean it's a "save"
  5. the ones I'm discussing weren't premature openings, the AAD functioned as programmed the point is that these weren't saves, everything would have been fine without the AAD firing, the manufacturer has no way to know if an order for a cutter involved a save because they don't ask for details
  6. an AAD fire is not necessarily a save unless the manufacturer is collecting data about the fire they don't know if it was a save or just a fire I'm aware of a couple fires where the jumper merely opened low and the firing sequence had started. They had opening mains when the reserve loop was cut. The main opened then the reserve then came out.
  7. B - building A - antenna S - span E - earth helicopter is not part of the definition
  8. A blonde and brunette were walking past a flower shop. The brunette saw her boyfriend inside buying flowers. She sighs and says, "Now he will expect me to spend the weekend on my back with my legs spread in the air." The blonde says, "Don't you have a vase?"
  9. Myrtle Beach is a tourist trap: golf, t-shirt shops and strip clubs, the beach is nice, typical east coast sand, plenty of beach front places to stay, waves are loud if you want that sound. If you want to go east then there's Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island immediately north of Charleston, and Folly Beach just to the south, IOP/Sully beaches are the same as MB but much less cheesy, many neat restaurants, small town feel. Folly is an old style hippie place, plenty of the younger crowd, small town, beach is similar to the above. If you go to Folly you need to stay on Folly. You could stay off Folly on James Island or Charleston but the traffic is terrible with all the day trippers. Florida panhandle is a much better than MB, better beaches, soft white sand. For me, assuming distance wasn't an issue: FL, Folly=IOP/Sully then MB. But I'm 2 hours from Charleston and 2.5 to MB. Hugely prefer the panhandle. All of them will be packed with people and kids, and restaurants will be full.
  10. on the fake FG - the holder gave it away when he looked at the sideline and nodded Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  11. yep, at the post game mid-field handshake Dabo told Nick, see ya next year Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  12. jumped the Sharpchuter, Fury, Maverick and Cricket, did plenty of CRW on the first two - all great canopies, had a Firelite reserve, never used it Jumped a Nova for years without any issue. There was more than one fatality when the canopy was flown aggressively and in turbulence. It was never a good idea to make a low turn behind trees on a windy day regardless of the canopy being jumped. there is at least one around being jumped regularly with no issues at the time it was the most aggressive canopy available, fast with a good glide ratio it was fun test jumping it in a Teardrop container at the old Z-Hills, it didn't have a logo on it and everyone always yelled beer until they saw that it easily flew to the other side of the line Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  13. Billy - knock knock - are you up off the floor yet?? total domination: offense, defense, band, cheer leaders the look on Saban's face, disbelief and no clue what to do So - South Carolina beat em, Clemson beat em twice, next time we're sending Furman Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  14. depends on the DZ, suggest you focus on the training and first jump if you are ready ask them about a second jump, if they have time and staff it should be fine Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  15. bring on the best two teams, it will be fun Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  16. great game GA deserves to be in the playoff, they can beat OK and ND, and possibly Clemsum and AL I would have loved the committee to put GA 3rd and ND 4th, just because you aren't in a conference and didn't play doesn't mean you get to keep your spot being in the SEC almost guarantees that you will have at least one loss, and you will get beat up each week, look at how many defensive players SC lost and they still whipped on Clemsum - hung over 500 yards on them!!, if I'm not mistaken Clemsum has the 3rd weakest schedule that would have been 2 great playoff games, instead we get to watch AL crush OK and Ohio St whine about not being in the game Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  17. we're around $2.34 in SC, ethanol free is $2.99 the F150 and watercraft are humming along just fine Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  18. During the election Obama gave a speech where he stated there was no way the traditional jobs would return, "who could do that, how could it be done?" One of Obama's problems is he had/has no real job experience and no knowledge of how to accomplish anything. He's never had a real job, run a business, had to create or produce - thus no vision. Being a community organizer he learned how to give great speeches - speeches don't = accomplishments. Well, guess what, Trump has experience and he is doing what Obama couldn't even imagine. Killary stated that coal jobs were gone, they are never coming back - wrong again. Recent report shows increase in mining jobs. Michele recently continued to state that what we need is hope, hope. What a crock - hope doesn't accomplish anything without leadership. I'm not thrilled with everything Trump does but give him credit where it's earned. Everything he's done is the things he said he would do. First politician in history!! Economy, jobs, and national security. Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  19. I wonder how crazy it might get IF the Republicans keep the house? It will be loud and unhinged crazy! Soon we will know. you can certainly count on that, the whining will get louder Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  20. Others will certainly add more info. Before turbines there were very few DZs that had anything more than C-182s or similar. Most jumps were a 20-25 minute ride to 7500'. If you were lucky you had access to a Twin Beech or DC-3. There were not that many boogies and Z-Hills and Perris were the hot spots. The Thanksgiving and Xmas boogies at Z-Hills were memorable. I was not a west coast jumper so others will certainly add more flavor on this. Mr Douglas was one of the most well known DC-3s around. I've got a few pics of her and Southern Cross. Some of them seemed to run on oil and you just checked the gas. My last DC-3 jump was at the old Skydive Chicago sometime around 1995. I was a first time visitor and some guy had funding for 2 jumps to build the 6-sigma formation for his company calendar. All I heard was the announcement that said, "see Max for a free jump." I got in the line to see Max and heard everyone in front of me get vetted and denied, somehow I made the cut. Max introduced me to his crew of regular jumpers, we dirt dived and up we went. We built it on the first jump. Of course having funding for two jumps we had to do better. On the climb to altitude the left engine blew. Everyone exited and upon landing Max demanded a debrief - just to see who had oil on the front of their jumpsuit. From that he jokingly determined who really knew how to exit a DC-3. That brief encounter led to many visits to Skydive Chicago and an invite to the 300-way. Fun times with Max and crew. Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. 23. no problem, it's only 2.5 miles, steep climbs and descents, narrow submerged passageways what an adventure, go for it Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  24. nothing to it if you are handy and patient, it will take you 2x longer than a pro, I've done 3 rooms including the cabinets, granite tops, vessel sinks and faucets the floor must be solid - no flex - if it has some flex fix that from underneath first, then screw down PermaBase cement board, the GC can do that but the stuff is real cheap, it's the labor that gets you unless you are using real high end expensive tile a cheap tile saw will work for this job, Harbor Freight or wherever cleaning up is one of the tricky parts, if you wipe the grout too much you'll pull the color out, use good sponges and keep em clean, you'll need 2-3 and at least 2 buckets, a helper is nice if you can do this in stages starting in a place that isn't too noticeable you can learn how to do it before you get to the important places, I did a small bath first, then a laundry room, then a master bath, there may be logical places where you can stop and it won't be noticeable the shower was a kit where the tiles came in 8 panels, the panels were lined up and glued to the wall, there is permabase behind them Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
  25. way too complicated when there is a simple procedure that is super easy to perform, eliminates all that thinking and potential finger trapping stuff but for highly loaded small speed rocket canopies this may be the only thing that works Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
