I currently have a royal .3 But was thinking of selling it along with an older pc-120 .So i can upgrade to the liquid .3 or century baby death .3? What's your opinion on those two ? I have just finished doing the same thing with my imac intel. Vegas pro 8 in windows xp. I have a 1TB western digital my book studio edition for all my storage. I have it cross formatted to share my windows files and mac files both on it. I just looked last night and adoramacamera has a 2TB my book studio edition for $264.95. Read the sticky at the top ,it will give you a lot of good info. Talk with your local camera guys. If i were just starting out i'd buy a cx100 with a .3 lens . Get sony vegas (PC only) for all your editing. Spot (DSE) can elaborate more on this software and training in it. I agree. I shoot a 30-d with a vertical grip for my ground shots. I'd trade up for a newer 50-d but i can't justify the money for it at the time. XSI is great for free fall. I'm planning on picking up a mark 2 5 d later this season for my studio stuff . It'll be nice to utilize the full frame sensor with my lenses. I see a lot of free flying going on ,and not much of what the video should be about. "THE STUDENT" Remember it's about the student not free flying. Multiple times in both of these video's i see camera to close to the top of the drogue where a parachute might open and be in your face. Lets not forget ,this is the passengers 1st skydive , the entire video should be about them . I have experienced premature openings on tandems both while doing the tandem and while filming the tandem pair. Granted is not common but it does happen . I picked up a full version vegas pro 8 on ebay for $335.00 to my door Now be aware of academic versions for around the same cost.Mine is not an academic version. I'm running it with bootcamp imac intel 2.3 with 3 gigs ram windows xp. An external drive to handle the video files "my book studio edition" 1 tb They have some 2 tb's for around 269.00 now. My suit of choice is a tight tony suit nylon front with a light weight poly cotton loose sleeve and a free fly baggy leg of heavy cotton. With a tony suit c-wing. My weight varies from 208 -218 exit weight is around 250 then. I can fall as slow as under 100 and as fast as 160 on my belly if needed flip over and sit. But average fall rate can be around 135 or so and be vary comfy with that, meaning i don't have to work hard at arching or anything. I jump with another camera man that prefers a really baggy free fly suit over having wings.He can do amazing stuff with that too. Flash will help most any photo, It brings out detail and color. As for iso speed i only change iso if i'm loosing light where i need more shutter speed. Very nice! I looked at your file info , try using iso 100 during the day in the bright light with shutter priority setting of 250 or 320. I think you will like the results better. I don't have a cx100 but i think my cx12 is about the same here.On your screen you should have a meter that says metric distance from your subject Looks like a little hour glass side ways when you have it set to infinity. It should be right around there most of the time. You may have issues with your wide angle lens too. I'm not sure about yours but some lenses won't let you use auto focus with them in the different modes too such as beach and ski or sports mode. Hope this helps.
