  1. Damn, didn't think I had to defend myself from the home crew! Shit Cracker, I may have a stipe but your nickname is "Ol' Yeller!!!" Tom- Please ban 311, he's being mean to me!!!
  2. Well well... pretty funny there Mr. Losli, coming from the guy who was scared of a little fog and went hiding under the rocks at #7 last summer, you're pretty humorous! While a few of the ABC will be in TF, the others will be at an undisclosed location jumping big As with vadors in an attempt to burn most of the know objects in the South before we head Europe in June. FreakBoy, sorry we didn't get to jump in January but thanks for the invitation. See both you fu*kers at exit soon. Baxter.
  3. All this T&F talk makes me want to go jump with the Atlanta BASE Crew tomorrow morning...
  4. Helmut- Please be aware that 626's "issue" is his and his alone. BG.
  5. Cool Perry, see you there! Baxter. p.s. got to try the Prodigy from 1600' yesterday... pretty sweet!
  6. I was lucky enough to take the Prodigy for a test drive from 1600' this morning and really had a nice flight. Pulled a little high as this was my maiden voyage but the suit had great sub-terminal control, lots of forward speed, a slow fall rate and it sure was nice to be able to grab the risers without unzipping/cutting-away the wings. Baxter.
  7. It's all about the right place for the right time... Hey Tom, it's more like: Funny thing is that it really was. Hmmm, I wonder what the winds are like there right now? Guess I'll go check and better take my rig just in case! Have a good one
  8. naaaah, not photoshop just good camera!
  9. ... but damn it is a lot of fun!!! Hope everyone gets a few sweet ones off this weekend! Have fun, stay safe and don't take things to seriously.

    Legal Hurdles

Expanding on Jason's point a bit, and Tom please move if it is too off-topic, but my biggest fear is this: ...you're up 500' on you favorite "A", winds are perfect, full moon (or if you prefer... crack of noon) quick gear checks and the obligatory "have a good one". Your buddy goes off, throws an off-axis single and you watch as the bridle wraps around his ankle, the inflated p/c flips him head down and he goes in. You call 911 and stay with the body like you guys had agreed if something like this occured. Now you've got criminal charges (possibly felony murder in some states), the normal trespassing/reckless endangerment stuff and possibly a variety of civil mess from the grieving parents/spouse especially if you organized the load, took the jumper to the tower and/or were the more experienced jumper or mentor. Accidents happen but if you're going to jump with someone, it might be a good idea to know something about their ability, what they plan to do on the jump and if their family knows they jump and how important it is to them.
  12. Nice rigs... but really nice cliff. The photos make me wish I was at some sweet exit point right now rather than sitting behind this desk. Soon...

    JasonF

Liv- I was very sad to hear about Jason and will keep yourself as well as the whole Aussie crew in my thoughts. Baxter.
  14. Here's a Norman Kent photo from the Key's Boogie in 2002. Definitely a blast flying above the Keys!
  15. I enjoyed meeting and jumping with so many folks over Labor Day. BASE kicks ass. Baxter. p.s. glad to see that all that house renovation has not decreased Tom's wing-loading!!!
  16. Got a LaPera on my Fat Boy which is pretty sweet.

    new fly pants

Robi's new pants kick ass. I got one jump on them and tracked farther than I had on previous jumps with no stability issues. I also did tracking jumps with guys I normally can out track who were demoing the pants and watched them disappear ahead of me. Nice work Robert!
  18. Congrats! Nice to meet you guys n TF. Baxter.

"Beer" is a skydiver thing, you're a base jumper now, congratulations! 733.
  22. hmmm, wondering about what you were experimenting with there...
  23. I have an unvented 245 Troll in my WSX-treme and believe that it is the largest size canopy that will fit. If I didn't already own a 245, I would have downsized to a 225 Troll. Regarding the floorplate mounted top closing loop; the WSX-treme is a two pin rig, the top pin (closest to the yoke) has the closing loop mounted to the base of the container much like a Javelin's closing loop. Check out the Morpheus Technologies (www.baserigs.com) website for photos.
  24. I have a Morpheus WSX-treme container and have about 15 jumps on it, all subterminal tracking or aerial jumps. While this is not a formal review in that it would need to be written when not hung over, well articulated and come from a more knowledgeable perspective, I have really enjoyed the rig. The first thing you notice when you put it on are the integrity risers and corresponding lack of 3-rings which make it very comfortable. The rig has a great contoured fit which significantly contributes to its low profile. It is easy to pack and has the option of closing the top with the closing loop on the floor plate or on the top flap like the regular Gargoyle. I use the floor plate when I want to get a more tapered profile to max out the track (not that it helps with my poor tracking abilities) or use the top flap when jumping low urban stuff which we have a lot of where I live. I’ve had Dynamic Corners on my rig in the past and this is a mandatory feature on a wingsuit specific container. The ParaPack material really is cool. It looks sleek and noticeably helps reduce the size of the rig and drag. Cpoxon, didn’t you think it looked cool when you saw it in KL? Gus, I saw you flying a wingsuit in Z-hills and am sure you could get a benefit from it!!! Gotta get some Advil as my head is pounding from last night. Rumor has it that the WSX-treme is flying off big cliffs this weekend so maybe one of our resident expert wingsuit flyers will provide a real review. 733. ABC
