  1. PETA is aware of the situation, and will soon be blockading Fairy dust suppliers. A worldwide Gnome shortage is expected as a result. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. Welsh Rabbit: Grated cheddar melted with milk, Poured on toast, Add Worcester sauce, Put under the grill to brown the top. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  3. Yeah, homosexual behaviour. He also stuck it in more than a few ladies as well. Think of it as something like taking the Kinsey scale at face value. Let me make absolutely clear that I do not believe that Zeus appeared before Alexander, I do not believe that Alexander heard the word of Zeus at Ammon, I do not believe that Zeus impregnated Olympias and I do not believe that Alexander was a living demi-god. What kind of idiot believes in a living demi-god with divine parentage? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  4. Tell me, exactly how you measure the amount of info in a Gnome's genome? Trick question, they run on fairy dust! Pfft, give me a tougher one next time Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    Casino Royale...

And intriguingly the producers have stated that the next film is to be a direct sequel of Casino Royale. While I'm not sure I like the idea of sequels in Bondland they did end CR with a perfect cliffhanger. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  6. As long as they keep looking at the same angle they will be able to tell when they have covered 1000ft (assuming they know how long 1000ft is) even if they think they are two counties away. Even if they can't tell at all the very act of looking, judging and deciding will keep them occupied for an extra few seconds anyway, adding to the seperation. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. I don't get it - why does Brett's reply get a ? As far as I can see he is perfectly correct - the angle at which a group falls away from the plane soon after exit is going to be the same no matter what the ground speed. The OP is also right to be worried about seperation issues from being pushed to exit too soon with strong uppers - but the way a group falls away from/ back from the plane shouldn't 'look' any different no matter what the uppers are doing. 8. Think of it this way, if your canopy was made from something really heavy and it was, say, a stone (6kg?) heavier than a normal canopy you would expect it to go faster and be loaded heavier than a normal canopy of the same size. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  9. Your list is faulty. I believe that quite a few of the countries stated as abolishing monarchies actually rid themselves of our monarchy when they gained independence. Similarly, quite a few eastern european countries listed had their monarchies removed by force once they were behind the iron curtain. Are you trying to suggest that the UK should become communist? 11. As I said, you have some serious problems with the words new, add, increase and information. Tell me, exactly, how you measure the amount of information in a creatures genome? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. Modern interpretations of gay or straight don't really apply. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  13. In the ancient world, it would very, very easily have been interpreted that way. You can't put modern standards on ancient thought. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  14. Ideas of what gods were and how divine communications worked were very different in ancient times to what they are now. The god Ammon (considered by the Greeks to be Zeus under a different name) addressed Alexander as a deity. That this is through an oracle, or even that it may have been a slip of the tongue is irrelevant to the ancient idea that the god did actually talk to Alexander and confirm his divinity (In Herodotus the oracles of Apollo at Delphi and the Oracle of Ammon are singled out as being utterly infallible). The conquered Persians took this to heart a lot more than the Greeks who were mostly quite resistant to the idea of kingship itself, let alone divine right to rule. The assertion that kallend simply "made up" the entire idea is unsupportable. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  15. NCc will argue about anything to avoid the actual topic of a thread. The man never met a nit he didn't want to pick repeatedly batter into the ground with a sledgehammer. The only reason I questioned this kallend's latest claim is because it goes to a pattern of misrepresentation. And I've already pointed out to you that it is you who have misrepresented what kallend said in this thread. Kallend said that if the FSM decided to appear as Zeus who are we to question? Did the mention of such a transparently fictional entity as the FSM not tip you off to the fact that the post may not, in fact, have been typed in all seriousness? Pelosi's still waiting for her jet. 16. It doesn't even have to be a credible source - just a source. And as I said, Arrian and Plutarch. What, asking if you had bothered to read any primary sources? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  17. Because the weight of the parachute still has to be suspended in the air. But you're right, I don't think there is any need to be overly specific. 1, maybe 2 decimal points at the most. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  18. Nice He'll come in for a tyre change and be left up on bricks Do you want to have an ideagasm?

  20. ok, I wasn't too sure so I looked it up on Wikipedia It appears the truth lies some way between the two of us, you're right he was on Sea Kings not Lynxs, and his missions were a mix of anti sub/ surface warfare as well as exocet missile decoy. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  21. What's that scraping sound I hear..... it's goalposts being moved! You never said I had to show exactly where Alexander himself claimed it. I just had to show that kallend wasn't making shit up and that the idea of Zeus appearing to Alexander wasn't conjured out of thin air 30 minutes ago. What sites have you been to, have you read any primary sources, how much do you actually know about the demi-god myth surrounding Alexander? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  22. Something equivalent to the flipping great, in your face, worship me or die in a rain of fire miracles that were apparently so common in ye olde times. Either that or god just appearing and telling me. I'm pretty sure neither of those are going to happen though, I wonder why? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  23. Claimed by who? Is it claimed that Alexander ever stated that Zeus appeared to him? It is claimed that he did and it is claimed that he didn't. As prone to mood swings as Alexander seemed to be (from the accounts that reach us) I personally think it is entirely likely that he both did and didn't claim it depending on the occasion. Many of his soldiers and contemporaries believed that he was a demi-god and many believed that he wasn't. Both Arrian and Plutarch report that he was spoken to by the God at Ammon and "received the answer that he desired." Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  24. Yep, I was serious. Any idea where the word roots from - maybe there's some old english form of 'apologise' that simply means explain? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
