  1. “EV demand is outstripping supply around the world.” Is that really the article you want to link to? (And come in, admit it, that Mustang thing really nailed you. Like, honestly just once show some self awareness - I promise it won’t hurt!)
  2. The quick bit on why both cases happened so close together was quite funny too. He got away with it because he was President…. But he couldn’t shut up. So not only did the second lawsuit go ahead, the first one was unfrozen because he’d proven it wasn’t Presidential speech. Then he lost the second lawsuit…. But he couldn’t shut up. So now the punitive award is so massive because he’s proven nothing but an extreme punishment will stop him from defaming her again.
  3. Yeah, I hear that's why the Mustang never really made its mark.
  4. And in the 'there's no evidence that can't fit a conspiracy' side of things - if the No1 seed and bookies favourite 49ers do beat the Chiefs and win the Superbowl it'll be absolute proof that the Satanic Democrat Cabal had to abandon their plans and cover their tracks because these diligent internet researchers discovered THE TRUTH.
  5. So in 2024 they expect to sell more of the best selling vehicle in the world than they sold in 2023?
  6. In a shocking and unforeseeable turn of events, some of the white Republican personalities who lead the charge to remove the black president of Harvard university turn out to be really, really, overtly racist. Well, I say overtly, but they’re obviously cowards too so what they’re pushing is simple eugenics by a new name while claiming it’s ‘just neutral science.’ Rightwing activist Christopher Rufo has links to a self-styled “sociobiology magazine” that is focused on the supposed relationships between race, intelligence and criminality, and which experts have characterized as an outlet for scientific racism. At the time of reporting, Aporia was one of 19 Substack newsletters Rufo links to in the “recommended” section on his own newsletter, which according to Substack has more than 50,000 subscribers. Rufo also appeared on Aporia’s podcast, which has published flattering interviews with proponents of scientific racism and eugenics….. The Guardian emailed Rufo with questions on his apparent endorsement of Aporia, and how he reconciled that with his professed “colorblindness”. He did not respond directly to any questions put to him but instead made a crude sexual insult to a Guardian reporter. What a lovely man! As for one of the ‘scientists’ he supports: The Guardian emailed Winegard questions about Aporia, his role there and aspects of his previous controversies. He replied with one line: “Is Charles Darwin’s ‘The Descent of Man’ scientific racism?” You, sir, are no Charles Darwin. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/31/rightwing-activist-christopher-rufo-ties-scientific-racism-journal
  7. I just saw this in an article and nearly spat out my tea. Most savage burn I’ve ever read. Posobiec did not elaborate on who “they” are, but Roseanne Barr, the rightwing former actor who, for unexplained reasons, was also in the video, agreed. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/jan/31/taylor-swift-travis-kelce-super-bowl-rightwing-conspiracy-biden
  8. I don’t really get the psychology of this. If all branches of Government are so totally controlled by the Democrats that the Pentagon is willing to fix the Super Bowl for party political gain, if the Democrats are so powerful with such mastery of the media that they can create the Taylor Swift super-mega-ultra-fame juggernaut… then the Republicans have lost. There’s nothing they can do. It’s Democrat control forevermore and, as in 1984, even their token resistance will turn out to be controlled and coordinated by the Democrats. It’s an odd thing to be proud of ‘figuring out’.
  9. You’d need a whole new thread to break down the mistakes and plain mendacity in Ackman’s screed. BTW, I don’t think ‘accoutrement’ means what you think it means. A business accoutrement would be like a tie or a fancy pen. I’m not sure how wearing a tie or owning a Mont Blanc could be held as a moral standard.
  10. Well yeah, but look what they’re up against. Earlier this week, the Senate’s Republican leaders stripped Freedom Caucus members of their committee chairmanships and parking spots, If that’s not worth 10 paces at high noon then I don’t know what is.
  11. Interesting defence from the guy; In his resignation letter, DeWit claimed that the offer was "taken out of context." He notes that Kari Lake was actually his employee at the time and he was "looking out for her financial interests." I mean, yeah. Isn’t that a spot on euphemism for bribery?
  12. Makes for a good campaign slogan. "Donald Trump: Welfare Queen."
  13. And I've heard that in Russia the accepted solution is to start a small wood fire under the fuel tank and engine bay (not a joke).
  14. 'Normal' cars also sometimes don't work in extreme cold conditions. Oil and diesel turns to sludge. Batteries (yeah, ICE cars need those too) and starters don't work. So they get modified. For instance normal cars in Finland all have external power connecters which plug into power supplies in parking spaces to warm the engine and oil system before starting in the morning in winter. So as much as you may have run out of imagination before reaching a solution, warming up cold things so they work is not an insurmountable problem. BTW - my petrol car loses a little over 10% of its fuel economy in winter and it's not even that cold here. That's just a thing to deal with that everyone has to deal with.
  15. If you're so savagely far right you dismiss a person who was so convincing on the stand and had so much evidence against Trump that she managed to get a jury to find that she was a victim of sexual assault from 25 years ago (a very difficult thing to do) as a nutcase democrat plant then I really have no idea what makes you think you can speak about what 'both sides' would want.

Since we both know the Trump-stacked Supreme Court is the only thing that can stop Trump being the nominee, you should be spending your time convincing your fellow non-Maga righties to vote for Biden.

No kidding? That's a pleasant surprise.

The last two Home Secretaries here in the UK (responsible for border policy) were ultra hard line anti immigration children of immigrant parents. They would both tout the fact that there parents 'did it right' and came here legally, while conveniently ignoring the fact that it is no longer remotely possible for people in their parents' position to come here legally. But I'm alright, Jack.

Interesting. So when you said, for instance, that "Biden is just as unsullied as Senator Menendez" you meant that they were in fact both completely unsullied because neither of them have been convcted of anything? Regardless, Trump is not a rapist because he has been convicted of rape, he's a rapist because it is in reality true that he raped someone. That is what he did. That is who he is. So what will you do once Nikki Haley is not the Republican nominee?

    Ukraine

Exactly, you don't support Biden on aid to Ukraine because playing politics is more important to you. BTW, 'do something' /= 'do exactly what the Republican far-right wants'.

    Ukraine

You can. You can also not make one a condition of the other. Unfortunately, both you specifically and the rest of your party (the ones who aren't actively pro-Russian) have made it explicitly clear that Ukraine is quite far down the list of your political priorities, to the point that it is completely expendable unless it can be used to leverage action on those other priorites. That's why people say you don't support Ukraine - because you have been quite open about the fact that you don't really care.

    "First things first." That's why.

Thanks for demonstrating over the last couple of pages exactly how much you don't care about supporting Ukraine. If your party, like you, keeps hijacking every conversation about military aid with whining about the border it's going to do a huge amount of damage, possibly permanent, to their hopes of being able to push Russia back.
