Actually, I just got a letter for a Class Action lawsuit against Apple and their faulty batteries. I have a 3rd Generation iPod. If the battery has gone bad, Apple will replace it or repair it, no charge (if they win). For a 3rd Generation iPod, if my battery will not hold a charge and play for a minimum of 4 hours (continuous playing), then my unit qualifies for the lawsuit. A 1st or 2nd Generation iPod has to pass the 5 hour test, or they will qualify as well. Time for a test run.... ltdiver I was at the Apple store recently for a similar problem, they actually charged me $90.00 for a replacement, which wasn't all the bad, b/c in return, I got a BRAND NEW IPOD! Apparently the batteries dont last more than 3 years...so they've created this new "battery exchange program" which is more like an IPOD exchange program!! good luck, eithery way, Apple store will take care of you!!
