  4. I would second those who say "Call Him"... When you think about it, the only thing you can control are your own actions, so do what you think is best regardless of what the expected outcome from him is. Trust me when I tell you I speak from experience. I would also add that when he becomes terminally ill, or some other crisis is NOT the time to finally give it a shot. By that time it is too late. Do it now and get it in the open. Sadly, also from experience. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

  17. Sounds like me; had the line twists on my first AFF AND blew the landing; though mine was flaring too late and ended up on my ass in a nice slide. The twist kind of freaked me out, too; but was good to know I could keep my head and remember what I was taught. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET
  18. Heading out for my Level II after having done a tandem and then my first jump... Truth be told, I was SO overwhelmed and concentrating on my altitude awareness and practice pulls and instructor's signals that it went by REALLLY fast; it seemed like as soon as I had gone through the planned dive sequence, it was time to pull... I am assuming that the Level II will involve more practical work; any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET
  19. Take a look at Perris, too, I had an EXCELLENT experience with the staff there. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

  21. I just wanted to check in and say "Hi"; I did my first AFF last week for a friend's 30th birthday and am HOOKED. I am going to head back out again next week for two more jumps, and am looking forward to getting certified. I have to say that I owe a good portion of my enthusiasm and good experience to the staff at Perris Valley Skydiving, especially my instructors/jumpmasters Ule and Eric. They taught me everything I needed to know to make my first jump with confidence. I even dealt with a parachute "problem" according to the procedures Ule taught me, it was very positively affirming to know that I could tackle it and maintain my cool. (I know, I know, it was only that my lines were twisted, but hey, it is slightly disconcerting to jump for the first time, look up, and have a problem with your canopy). For any first timers in the SoCal area, I cannot recommend them strongly enough. Anyways, I am totally hooked and very excited about continuing with program. Hope to see some of you out there.
