  1. 1 is probably the best of the bunch but I still don't really like it. Maybe an updated vector pack of tools to switch out what you have for something more believable. Guys who work with those tools for a living will notice. Just like skydivers see what is wrong with skydiving inspired logos, art, ads.

People get a free pass from me for the 12 days AFTER Christmas. After that, they're just milking it and are numbskulls.

Or they're busy as hell. Working 4 jobs and two kids under the age of 5 will sort of keep you busier than those with out kids could imagine. Mine are up but unplugged. This week I finally have some time to pull it all down.

    A fine looking bunch.

By the way, I finished reading your book and I thought it was great. I could hardly put it down. Are you going to write a sequel?

    Thank you for reading!

Yes. Book 2 is at the publisher for final edits to be released in the spring. I signed with the publisher for a 5 book series, so there will be at least that many, but in terms of word count I think it will take 5 books to tell the whole story I have in mind.

www.winchesterundead.com The blog, Facebook page, news letter and Twitter feed has updates on upcoming titles as they come, along with a bunch of supporting content.

    ******... and a minivan..."

Jesus, where did all the animosity come from... It takes mad skillz to drive a minivan and maintain your Y chromosome.:D

I don't think it counts if you have the minivan before you come into the sport. In that case I think you just have the kid start packing for you and become a tunnel instructor at 16. If you really want this story to be cool though, you should start swooping the pond with a Nav 300. :P

It's not a minivan, it's a family adventure Van. We adventured to Big Bend NP for 5 days with our toddlers last month. It was awesome! Here is a photo of our tent in camp the first night.

Competition swooper, motor cop, author, photographer...why don't you grow up and get a job you hate like everybody else!;)

Well, my wife did squash a discussion about learning how to mountaineer and doing Everest, so that failed.

    ;)

  6. For me it was the choice of what was most important to me. Not for safety, since the job I held at the time was significantly more dangerous than skydiving, but for what level of commitment I was willing to have to a sport or to my family. I wanted my weekends full of adventure with my wife and children, not trading babysitting duties while packing for the next load.

A bit over 3,000 jumps, 11 years and I sold my gear. To be fair it would have taken a goodly number of jumps to get current enough to jump the tiny (for me) crossbraced canopy safely again.

New adventure awaited and I have found it. I'm sure more new adventures wait for us over the horizon and the choice was and still is 100% worth it. Opportunities I never dreamed possible have opened up in my path and my latest adventures have been incredible, I'm not sure those journeys would of happened if not for a change of venue for creative emotional outlets from skydiving to other mediums.

Will I come back to skydiving? Maybe. I'm not sure I'll return to high level competitive swooping again, but it would be fun to step off into the air and yoink on a front riser again.;)

  7. I'm a powerlifter in the USAPL, which is a drug tested federation, using the WADA standards. So you can be disqualified for even having too much caffeine. Read the WADA list sometime, it is an eye opener.

  8. Go watch Bigger, Faster, Stronger.

I would see adderall being abused for competitors, for focus and clarity in a fast paced environment (obviously excluding classic accuracy here:P), and maybe xanex for keeping calm during high stress make or break competitions.

Fun fact, adderall is estimated to be the number one abused drug on college campuses, used to help studying and test taking.

Anyone else see the Ute drop the ball just before he got to the end zone tonight?

He didn't 'drop' it, he consciously released it. Just another example of the "LOOK AT ME ! LOOK AT ME !" excrement that is so prevalent in college and pro football nowadays. It's cheapened the game and shows a marked lack of respect for your opponent. As Lou Holtz once said...."Just hand the ball to the ref and act like you've been there before."

My old HS coach would have kicked my ass square for pulling such a move. Probably be riding the pine too.

    Don

Speaking of riding the pine, after Kyle Allen's performance putting Auburn in their place, I bet Kenny Hill gets to see the bench for longer even though his team rules violation suspension has passed.

***With everyone so upset that retail stores are opening on Thanksgiving I can't help but think of the Thanksgivings, the Christmas Eves and Christmas Days I worked, absent from my family when I was a full time cop.

    Was?:o
    What are you doing now?
I know about the arm injury, but thought that was a temporary situation.

I was working on my exit from full time LE before the injury. I have my book series that just signed with Winlock Press (an imprint of Permuted Press) and a photography business. Besides that I teach collision reconstruction and consult for depositions as an expert on the side.

As for the arm, it has been 5 months since injury and nearly so since the surgery and I'm still a very long way from recovery and still experience daily pain. Caught the burglar who caused the injury and he's in prison now.

With everyone so upset that retail stores are opening on Thanksgiving I can't help but think of the Thanksgivings, the Christmas Eves and Christmas Days I worked, absent from my family when I was a full time cop. Think of them those days too, maybe even drop by some snacks or a hot plate to your local Fire or Police department on those days. I promise you they'll appreciate it!

Good examples would be prepackaged prepared food, as historically there have been cases of people trying to poison fire and police personnel with tainted food.

***Christ the wheels came off of that one.:o

Sure as hell did. Even I never dreamed the game would turn out like that. It was about as one-sided that a game could get.

The coaching is there, I wonder if it is the young team or that Allen should be QB, I just don't know. What a roller coaster season for us.

But so far.... I'm liking Lane Kiffin better than Doug Nussmeier. Wink

    Still ? :)
Hat's off to the Ole Miss D.......that was the best defensive performance I've seen against Bama in quite a while.

    Don

It has been many years since Ole Miss has been in this position, but there is still a lot of very very tuff SEC action left for them...including this week with a very pissed off Texas A&M. I think the Rebel defense had better be prepared for a real fight. Here is hoping the dream can continue.

You may have a point, but look at how Miss State beat the Aggies. They bullied the Aggies for more than 3 quarters. Ditto with LSU. Then look what LSU did at Auburn, in a pathetic performance.

I think the jury is still out on just how good Texas A&M really is. Their season opening win at South Carolina is looking less and less impressive... Now that the Gamecocks are in a mid-season slide with 3 losses, including at Kentucky.

If I had to rank the SEC West teams, they'd likely be in this order:

    Auburn
    Miss State
    Ole Miss
    Alabama
    Texas A&M
    Arkansas
    LSU

Top three really could be in any order until further notice. Ditto for the bottom two

We'll see. The Aggie team is very young but they're getting (mostly) better with each game. Last week was horrible to watch as the wheels fell off, but the talent and coaching is there to generate some real show stopping plays and keep them coming.

For someone who had drunk the Fran Koolaid, I'm all on board for Sumlin. He won me over the first year and watching him shape the team as they entered the absolute hardest conference in the nation is amazing.

Good thing our games aren't on the LHN or only the twelve subscribers would see them!

    ******This was awesome.

Alabama QB Blake Sims sets school records for offense while wearing a bracelet honoring an Auburn student with end stage cancer.

Florida State QB Jameis Winston just yells "FUCK HER RIGHT IN THE PUSSY!"

Even My FSU supporter isn't loving Winston . . . hard for her to admit . . . but she does it. Let the fucker go.

You two just had to be sweating it for a while today eh? Aggies outlasted the Razorbacks in OT and the Seminoles turned a 24-7 first quarter deficit into a 56-41 scorefest at NC State.

The SEC West division is starting to look really brutal... 6 out of those 7 are ranked.

Can anyone figure out who the fuck Missouri is? They lose at home to a bad Indiana team that lost the previous week to Bowling Green University, then go on the road to South Carolina today and win 21-20??? Mizzou just might win the SEC East again. :S

The SEC west will beat it's self out of a national championship and a much lesser team will win due to having a better record with a cake walk schedule.

If they are going to be paid, then remove the requirement that they be students. They'd just be hired help, like janitors and groundskeepers.

There are thousands of student workers on campuses who are paid.everything from bus drivers to computer techs.

    Think positive :)
At least the bad person didn't steal your 2012.

Advise? You could check with the local cop shop and find out how serious the transportation theft problem is. If it's really bad, and you don't want to settle for a push bike either get insurance if it's affordable, or take the spark plug with you when ever you park it.

Hard to steal a motor bike if it wont start;)

Many bike thefts are lift and go operations using a pickup or a box truck. Some even have lift cranes built to help. Or they slide the bike up a ramp using a bed mounted winch. So sort of chaining he motorcycle to a light post, it doesn't matter.

Many sport bikes become shaved numbered track bikes, most stolen bikes become parts. Use the VIN to track down the motor manufactures number if the VIN isn't stMped on the case. That helps in tracking stone parts.
