  1. Very cool to hear that she's doing well! Take care, Taz. I still have a photo of you on my kitchen cabinet flying over South Africa. I was thinking about you just the other day whilest getting out the peanut butter.
  2. File a claim with UPS. Their website states that they will need proof from the shipper of the value of the item damaged within the box. That shouldn't be hard for Bev Suits to provide. Sorry to hear about it. Hope it works out for you. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  3. -So I'm not the only one that uses exercise equipment for chairs, clothes racks, book holders, etc...? Scootering can wear ya out! My lil' boys love it, too. DON'T try a trampoline with lil' boys unless you're REALLY looking to tire yourself out. Oy!!! 1 pound down is better than 1 up or the same! That's what my mommy always says.
  4. Ok so I missed it on Friday! How have you been doing? Monday I didn't do the 'tough' 11am Zumba because my heart was feeling weird. So I waited and did the 6:30pm 'easier' Zumba. Good call. Heart rate still freaked out at 214 bpm while we were cooling down. Stupid ol' heart! I did a tough step and lift (cardio and weight lifting) yesterday morning then 25 minutes in the sauna. I ate well all day until dinner, when I had pizza and whatever I wanted 'cuz it was FAT TUESDAY!!! Today I'm doing the tough Zumba again at 4:20. All I've eaten was a couple o' chicken legs (which I shouldn't have had, I'm not s'posed to eat meat today, I forgot! ). I've given up processed foods, white sugars and flours, and preservatives for Lent, so this will bust through this weight plateau for sure!!!
  5. I'm going hard-core this year again. Hope it doesn't kill me. I'm giving up preservatives, processed foods, white sugar and bleached flours. Exceptions are the foods that are prescribed on my diet program, which includes pre-mixed protein shakes & bars, & dairy products without added sugar. No meats except fish on Fridays and holy days. So, pretty much, I'll be eating fruits, veggies, milk, oatmeal, and protein stuff for 43 days. All natural for me. If I REALLY get in a bind, most whiskeys are all-natural... And I ALREADY BLEW IT this morning...I had 2 grilled chicken drumsticks thinking I was doing good. Then I remembered it's Ash Wednesday and I shouldn't have eaten chicken... I'll try to make it perfect from here on out. Very sweet of you to give up your alcohol for JP, Lisa. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  6. Hooray!!! Very cool. Fighting cancer is an EXCELLENT cause to run for!
  7. Um, yeah. What he said. I'm not the one to direct fitness questions to; I have more than anyone on here! Hope that works out for you!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  8. Ahhh shit. Sorry to see that it didn't work out for you. I hope the next treatment is 'the' one you've been waiting for. I couldn't imagine being in that much chronic pain! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  9. -And strawberries for pie! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  10. Hoo Nelly that's a bit of an in-depth read...but I did pick out some good info. thanky! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  11. I hadn't thought of Craig's list! I bet somebody is moving up in size and needs to get rid of a smaller one.
  12. Couldn't locate the ISBN in the library...I'll check direct with the source. I loved the aquaponics in that link! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  13. Here's a website that looks promising! --> http://www.stretcher.com/stories/02/02jun03a.cfm ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  14. That's outstanding. -Pun intended?! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  15. I'm looking at those here online. Just trying to figure out which way to go! Looks like I can construct a 'hoophouse' kind of thingy with PVC piping and some 6mil plastic. That might work for our purposes...however there is one lil' roadblock that I forgot to consider until just now: -the homeowner's association. Rat-bastards are always killing our fun! Of course, only the neighbor to my left and right can see our backyard, and I don't think either of them will care at all. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  16. Hey! I'm trying to figure out what would work for our family for a greenhouse. We need something to suit the following: *Want to grow year-round veggies & fruits. Specifically, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, lettuce, cucumbers, onions, etc. *We have mild winters up here in Washington state *The two main purposes are to save $ on the fresh groceries, and feed our family healthier foods (organic, fresh, pesticide-free, etc) So I'm no green thumb. I can't believe that I have kept the 3 houseplants that I own alive this long, but they're doing great!
  17. It really works, let me tell you... Any weight loss class or group I've been a part of, it has REALLY helped my motivation when they announce that week's results to everyone. "Jaye has lost 2.25 pounds this week", then everyone claps and tells me I'm awesome. Group motivation really helps. Hence the thread.
  18. Wow, nice work habit, Sunny-girl!! That's outstanding. Keep it up!
  19. Happy Valentine's Day 5k! Hope you're enjoyed it! I hope to attempt a 5k some day...it will be pretty far off in the future if it happens, as honestly it would just kill my joints at this weight. Congratulations again! What a victory. -And to complete a resolution this early in the year is STELLAR!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  20. Sounds like you've got it down! Trails would be fun. Someday I might check them out around here myself... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  21. I loved every part of my army workouts EXCEPT running. Eegad, did I hate running... Is the P90X the thing that's shown on TV all the time? That looked cool! I have a ton of trainers at my gym that help me out. They are always asking if they can reprogram me...and it's free, so it's all good! Actually I think they feel bad seeing me work so hard and not getting anywhere... My own damn fault. It's hard to eat healthy when money is this tight. We go through a lot of freakin' Bisquick & pasta, and it's hard to leave that stuff alone when we don't have a whole bunch of alternatives. Here's what I'm working on though: These things I can get from my husband's business, so I get them inexpensively and they are AWESOME for nutrition: protein powders Protein shakes 100 calorie snack bars Protein bars 'Fitness' cookies Sugar-free energy drinks Sugar-free sport drinks Oxygen water These things I figure I can fill in the gaps for not so much money: Eggs (I buy them 15 dozen at a time) Low fat cottage cheese Low fat yogurt Whole wheat bread 'Smart Ground' soy crumbles -those are just like ground beef, but super low fat and good protein shredded lettuce & a lower-fat cheese, to combine with soy crumbles & make an AWESOME taco salad. If fruit enters this house, it is devoured within 2 days by the 6 kids, so I have NO chance at getting any of that. Same with peppers & tomatoes. I LOVE peppers & tomatoes, but they are pricey and they get used up in 1 meal with 10 people here. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  22. Awright! Well have fun with doggie. Now that we are (hopefully) thawing out for good up here, I have to fix my flat tire on my bike and make my 13 mile ride a habit. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  23. Oh for the love... ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
  24. Hey I'm starting this up again, 'cause I need to lose some more weight prior to July 2nd! So anyhoo, this week I Zumba'd on Monday. Tuesday I had to take Joey to the ER so I missed my 9:30 step 'n lift , Wednesday I went to the gym but was having issues so I ended up doing just 7 minutes on the treadmill and sitting in the sauna for 30 minutes. Thursday I did my step 'n lift, and this morning I zumba'd again!
  25. GAWDDAMMIT!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
