  1. And what does that mean for someone without any canopy experience? 3 inches of riser input, 5 of toggle, straight up / down with toggles quickly, slowly up / down with toggles, etc. What if the student tries a minor input to avoid a particluar landing and gets insufficient response, and then overamps . . . . ending up with . . . . a low turn. What if? ? ? ? I forgot to mention, one would have to know their deathcampees, and make sure that they WONT freak out and turn low. you cant be sure that a moron AFF student wont toggle whip their navigator 260 at the last second because there is some other moron student walking through it in his way. (um, guys, it pretty much the same parachute, only difference is the radio. and i hear that the radio is on some deathcampers as well) a few and I have said before, training someone is 50-70% who they are, they rest is muscle and executive memory.

    Sick Shit

oh... so true. i just yesterday finished my first ilot chutes. as far as i can see, the first ever vented and vaned orbit free pilot chutes, 41 and 36" PC are a bitch to make, and man, those vanes are really, really a bitch.
  3. granted its from this totaly kaput moron, but i completely agree. little parachutes do very little for BASE. if anything. Jesse Hall is KAPUT.
  4. does everything for FJC instructors come down to pendulators? i mean, havent a lot of pendulator graduates totaly botched their first BASE exit? (I have heard of it a few times)
  5. what i meant was, if they say 500 a day, or week, i think a lot of people would pay it. but i dont think it should be like that as well.
  6. on a full faceing floater, (with wind) just step off the A. literaly. make sure there is not ledges below exit, and stepp off. the visual is sick. enough wind is good though.
  7. I have seen it done a few times. 4 i think. 3 out of the 4 stood the landing up (perrine). but im with pope, i think they dont have as much muscle memory for canopy flying, and might freak out and crater on a low turn. i heard the menotr beating the no low turn thing into their head pre jump.

sweet. i have seen a jansport velcro rig. i think it was made out of a jansport backpack. very cool.
  9. ill take what i can get. and you know we all will.

very cool man. never seen one, only heard of it before. looks useful and inconpicuous. (sp)?
  12. I have talked to my doctor for the past year about it, and 4 different phyisical therapists. the test for the muscle that controls the toe was only 18% effective. so, yeah. im just looking for other people who may have an amputated or cut toe.
  13. um, bad idea. i think. i dont think that an active protest is the way to do it. these are conservative, narrow minded people who see breaking the rules as a mortal sin, so i think we should stay in their panties and do it through the legal way.
  14. but rock climbers pose no threat to anyone else. ever. they never create rock fall, and they never have to be rescued. ever. i mean, we track into innocent bystanders every day. and knock rocks loose to tumble down and kill the hikers below the cliff.
  15. In febuary of 2006 i had a pretty bad paraglider crash, with sever injuries to legs and head. I now have 1 good ankle, and one bad. head pulled through (the doctor sais, its argueable) on the bad ankle, i have had to get the 4 small toe tendons severed due to their tightening up and crimping my toes. i had a zeeplasti on the big toe, and while it helped a lot, it still have a lot of pain in my toe when i walk. what i am wondering is, how much will i need my toe for balance? does anyone have a severed toe or cut toe tendon? I want to ask my doctor to cut the tendon to the big toe so i can walk comfortably again. this is not a dissability, i know, but i saw a buch of other injury posts, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or advice.
  16. I would pay 100 USD for a day pass (to have my way with it) in any of 5 parks i can think of. thats a lot of extra money.

    APOOPA

yeah, dude, even a dumber thing would be a two way in a sled, the same sled!
  18. hey shitlet, i got nothing. i have been active the last 2 weeks! doc injected something in my ankle and it is the first time i have walked without pain in 11 months. did a few jumps, kited my brand new paraglider, tried to get my skiboot on. sigh...
  19. semi-related, my Girlfreinds father works for the NPS. he does some environmental stuff, and we have good talks. he knows i jump and where, and he thinks its funny. he gave me a fake nps 'jumpers list' for xmas, and i gave him one of those crossed out NPS stickers. he put it on his desk at the NPS office he works at. a really good guy, and he agrees that his company has a lot wrong with it.
  20. maybe mac should make a list of the things we need to discus on dropzone.com. not me. ?
  21. I wonder what the record box fall is? I want to put a 20meter deep layer of boxes for a km diameter around an A thats 600meters high. just track for a new spot every time. this is, of course, if we can take a terminal impact into boxes. they are layered? as in bigger boxes top layer, smaller as the depth increases? less dense on top? quit making me think of things that are impossible or too expensive.
  22. I dont wingsuit base, but exit practice? i guess if there is a tailwind its bad. i saw a freind get blown around pretty good on a 40mph tailwind with a GTI from 1750'. scary. That sounds pretty scary. What a fucking IDIOT! pope yeah man, I never want to jump with that guy again.
  23. new question, what other forums on dropzone.com have any better of a worthy conversation history than the BASE?
  24. gainers sound really scary. I have a about 20 tailgate airplane jumps, never done a gainer. I like floaters. (flying above the plane is COOL. probably would be a bad idea on a tower.
  25. that is kinda, well, wow. sweet. so, im driving. who's in?
