  1. Just wondering. What does that have to do with it? PMed you. So that I don't hijack this thread.
  2. Cool !! How many jumps do you have? I have 38 ( all belly except attempting to sit fly on two jumps wearing a student rw suit...I was sitting until terminal ). I don't want to try HD with student gear. Not to mention I am jumping one size bigger main than usual. Kris.
  3. Got that at a discount. My younger brother works for Big Bad Microsoft. Oh and yes he jumps too. Kris.
  4. LOL, That's what I want to do someday in the future.
  5. I got my A-License. It feels good. Is the A-license number the same as the USPA member number? Kris.
  6. I was jumping a 190 loaded at 1.05 jumping in high winds and breaking an ankle. That put me out for two months. I made 8 jumps the last two weeks on a Sabre 230, I plan to downsize to a 190(I am putting a Sabre2 190 in my rig) and stay there for a while. I don't think I will jump a canopy smaller than a 170.
  7. Cost wise, nope. Strength, durability and slippage, yes. This has always bothered me. Why don't Rig manufacturers use the strongest webbing available? Since that is not what determines final rig cost anyway.
  8. $21,700 before I am completely debt free.......feeling better now?
  9. First of all awesome rig. The fact that the rig is black(So is my New Mirage G4, and I have about as many jumps as you) won't help you much when you have to slide it in. Me I am not jumping the new rig until, the winter is gone and I can standup all my landings.
  10. Did any of you use the "rush" option? Just wondering what kind of turnaround time to expect on a "rush" order.
  11. Why not try working as a Tandem instructor on weekends before taking the leap?
  12. I wanted to skydive even before I jumped, my first jump was an AFF 1. Oh yeah, I had my own parachute.
  13. I followed the program for 2 months about two years ago. My goals were a little different though. Started at 165 12% body fat and went up to 185 at 4.8% body fat. I am now 183 lbs and 11% bodyfat. Bad thing is that all the fat is around the waist. Oh well, when I can run again, I'll burn as much of that fat as I can. First though I need to quit eating Hershey's with almonds.
  14. I meant what can you do on the ground so you jump knowing that you probably won't have a PC in tow. Since we are talking about packing. I don't understand how cutting away a pc in tow would be Clearly beneficial. Not cutting away could result in entanglement, reserve fabric burn or a two out after reserve deployment. Cutting away could cause the same things except the two out. It's not like the main is gone if we cut away. There is'nt enough drag.
  15. Nope. How do you check on the ground if you'll have a PC in tow? Assuming you are using the right size Main for the container?
  16. I understand what you are saying. It is difficult to not get tempted when you are looking at 8 mph winds, blue skies and soft wet earth. Knowing that I'll be in a place that only has warm temps for a month (out of the year, and a job in which I might get paget at anytime)did'nt help either. I will stay off the air until I am better. P.S: I did'nt jump after that high flare landing.
  17. I visited the doctor on tuesday to talk about getting the screws in my ankle removed. He said Monday the 9th at 11:00 AM. So the screws are out, see pics. I desperately wanted to get back in the air, its been more than 2 months since I last jumped. So last saturday(calm winds ~10 mph, blue skies and a very wet and soft earth) I jumped twice(instructor jumps). I was cleared to jump by myself on the first one but needed sign off on some items on the A-License checklist. It was great to be back in the air. My tailbone survived because of the wet and soft earth. I was on radio and asked my instructor for flare help. When I heard flare on the radio, I buried the toggles and sank the last 5 ft. I had to get the ankle away from the earth and landed butt first. The jump suit had a 2" thick layer of dirt on it around the butt area when I took it off. Things would have been different had it been dry.
  18. Income tax money comes in?? Good question. I was curious about what those numbers meant, never asked because these numbers did'nt come up when I ordered a new Mirage. You can read about the measurements that you need to fill in on a custom rig order form here. I think having these measurement numbers handy might help the guys at Mirage give you better advise on what size harness would fit you best. Edited to add : I am assuming you are trying to buy one from stock/Pre-owned?
