  1. in Empuriabrava they sell it to you for 85€ I Wouldnt be suprised if the DZ is skimming at least half of this. Ask the packers how much they get paid vs how much you pay for a pack job...
  2. This... And for bonus points you need matching skate shoes too.

    2way VFS comps

The UK has one but it's an unofficial event. It's in place to try to bridge the gap between 4 way VFS and FS. The blocks and randoms in it are close to those you'd see on 4 way.
  4. You reckon it'd be possible to mount the entire unit within a G3?
  5. Does anyone have any experience of the Sena SMH10R before I burn the thick end of 300 bucks on a pair? I'd also like to use these for tunnel coaching.
  6. Go for cordura 180. 500, 1000 and polycotton fall slower. On the order dorm they ask for your weight and they'll make it to suit your weight. So you'll end up with a pretty tight suit. :-)
  7. Do your qualifications permit you to operate as a rigger in the country where you're working? You didn't have to register to get your rating in the country where you work? Worth checking that out for sure if you've not already done so.
  8. Try http://www.419eater.com/ and click on scambaiting tips . Good luck!
  9. I can see lots of gentle fun poked at a number of users on here.
  10. I've had 2 wings. The first one (a W14) was bulletproof. It's now 11 years old and still looks like new (I see the guy who bought it from me 18 months ago around the DZ occasionally) . I've now got a W8 ext. I bought it from new and to be honest it looks tattier now than my old rig. It's been to the rigger twice and there's just bits of stitching coming out of the binding tape, the risers and all sorts of areas and I'm disappointed with it TBH. They certainly don't build them like they used to
  11. I have one. The shock cord bungees that come with it don't have enough elasticity so putting the line stows in tough but you can change them to bungees with out problem. The lines are stowed in a pocket a bit like the infinity 'party bag' which isn't as easy as the vector bag - it's just a bit more fiddly. If I was buying a new rig I'd get the normal bag, sent it to vector and get them to make you a semi-stowless bag for it as it's just a bit better. HTH Adam.

    Exit Order Safety

I thought big groups exited before small groups because large formations tend to fall slower than individual skydivers. I thought freeflyers went out last because they don't like getting cold near the door in winter ;-)
  13. The TIs do more than that every year so if you were super - dedicated then I guess you could. They open on Friday at 1pm so you could do two or three on Friday as well.
  14. Probably at this time of year you're looking at Spain or Portugal. I reckon Skydive Spain in Seville would be good. Empuriabrava is the biggest DZ but quite expensive but Catalonia is a beautiful part of the world and you could make a nice holiday of it.
  15. Peterlee's pretty much like any other DZ in the UK. I reckon in spring, summer and autumn you can jump 5 out of 6 weekends but also be prepared for a bit of waiting around... you know the drill. In the UK if you don't like the weather wait an hour as it'll be different
  16. I can fly shelf more slowly than in daffy. Once you learn how to carve you will be able to fly even more slowly and slow yourself down with the sitflyers in the sky. Your friends should speed up, though, if the plan includes you doing HD flying.
  17. It might not be.. if it's a 30 foot fan at 60mph but the 'test section' where we all feel the love is, say, 14 ft then for a constant mass flow rate (which it would have to be for a recirculating tunnel) the velocity in the 14ft bit would be over 200mph. That's gotta be one huge-ass diffuser though (like 80ft+ long-ish). The other issue is that such large fans have a large moment of inertia so they'll take a long time to get up to speed and also slow down which will require a big torque from the motor and tus massive currents.. so yeah.. dunno (if the facts are correct) that it's a well thought-out design.
  18. I love me some Skyventure/iFly tunnels, but I agree for selfish reasons. The prices to fly have increased so much over the years, and they can since iFly dominates the market. I'm hoping that either competition or tunnel saturation drives those prices down some. This ^ Prices in Skydive Arena in Prague and even more so in the tunnel in Slovakia have come right down due to competition in Europe. The more competition, the better it is for us tunnel flyers.
  19. Power is usually drag....
  20. Ooo Cristal Blade.. Firstly you can have a chat with Boogieman themselves. When you submit your order you also let them know your weight and they'll tweak the suit in specific places to give you what you want. The sliding fabric is double layered so gives you more lift. The heavier corduras also give you more lift so 500gr and 1000gr cordura give you more lift. The 180gr stuff is also supposed to be quite powerful but I've got it on my bionic and I'm struggling for lift. Don't go for much lift on the arms. Go for plenty in the legs. But at your size and weight you don't have to go too sophisticated so go for polycotton (give you the greatest choice of colours) or 180gr cordura which is a bit lighter. But as I said.. have a chat with Boogieman and they'll discuss what you want and make it to suit your flying and weight.
  21. This appears to have descended into a bike thread but bought this little fella a couple of weeks ago as a fixer-upper for $650. 1980 Saab 99 GL
  22. Hibaldstow in the UK have G92 modified Dornier Do28's which get to 15k in about 12-15 minutes. Black Knights have the blackhawk upgrade Cessna caravan and again gets to 15k briskly. I think the BPA ops manual specifies time limits at higher altitudes to mitigate against hypoxia. I've done one from 17k and that included oxygen.
