  1. The same type? As in they’re not right?
  2. There are extremes to wokeness as there are extremes to everything, including empathy, which is really what wokeness is for most people even if they aren't aware. Given the whirling panorama of absurdities that comprises so much of our view these days, I'm thinking that lathering on a little extra empathy sometimes may not be such a bad thing.
  3. Thanks Joe, well explained. Now I believe in evolution, too.
  4. Even more important than the math is that the gunman knows in advance what is about to happen and owns the element of surprise.
  5. And, in 16 day's it will be Voyager 1's 45th Birthday. What amazing examples of human capacities they are and what amazing science and knowledge they have provided. Just imagine what we might know now if instead of spending trillions to send people into space we would have sent a few probes like those each succeeding year but with the latest technological advances and abilities. We already might know if Europa or Enceladus harbor life, how cool would that be?
  6. I wrote previously that you could become rich and famous reading depositions for inconsistencies. I absolutely think you have a great eye for that sort of thing. I just don't think forums like this where exactitude and intention can be in conflict and nuance might be in short supply that your talents are best employed.
  7. You're not grasping the time or scale. In the big scheme of things 10 or 20 years or 10 or 20 billion aren't relevant numbers. The perfect time and best possible price will never be on offer.
  8. You'll need to take a number and stand patiently in line to be incredulous of Jakee’s contentions. It was I who initially made the analogy, although it was without a gangrenous compound fracture. Nonetheless, the basic point remains intact: preventive medicine, irrespective of the potential ailments, is a good thing.
  9. The study seems to show that none of the three study drugs, including Ivermectin, have any measurable effect on post infection symptomatology. But don't most users adopt it as a prophylaxis?
  10. After the last several years I too am skeptical about evolution. Devolution, not so much.
  11. A woman who was detained in the back of a police car managed to slip out of her handcuffs, grab an AR-15, and shoot and wound two people. "This is something you never think would happen," Grady County Undersheriff Gary Boggers told the BBC. Absolutely no one could have foreseen the possibility. Go Sooners!
  12. They're a clever bunch, that's for certain. Bo Hines, the 26-year-old Republican nominee for North Carolina’s 13th District: “A lot of people have likened the situation going on right now, is, you know, they say we’re in a banana republic,” Hines said on a radio show. “I think that’s an insult to Banana Republics across the country. I mean, at least the manager of Banana Republic, unlike our president, knows where he is and why he’s there and what he’s doing.” Of course, when it was explained to him he said he was just making a funny. It's a joke, alright.
  13. That's some real Trump legal team level scrambling there, buddy. You may have a future.
  14. You don't need to spend thousands to have a doctor reset a broken arm but you'll get on with your future sooner, and be money ahead, if you do.
  15. As I attempted to explain in my bumbling manner in Pedophiles #39, we don't have to be right about global warming for you to be wrong about transitioning away from fossil fuels. If the world survives humanity, 10,000 years from now the history of fossil fuel use and the economic impacts, beneficial or not, won't merit a paragraph in a Texas school book.
  16. Mounting, melting, emptying, and worsening seem descriptive of negative effects that are increasing. A catastrophe is a disaster that has already happened.
  17. Sure, but by the same metrics coal was an improvement over whale oil. The whales might disagree, I suppose.
  18. The word catastrophic is a poor usage in the current context and may be what affects your conclusions about us'n nincompoops. I'm pretty sure no one here believes we'll simply, and suddenly, wake up to a world without snow leopards, Dutch skating ponds, or frozen yoghurt bars. No, we simply see a line on a graph on what appears to be an inexorable, but not inexplicable, upward trend; an upward trend that seems strongly associated with someone drilling a hole in your neck of the woods back in 1859.
  19. So, you think it's a good idea to arm teachers but hope the guns are never needed? I guess that's a nuanced view of sorts. On the topic, you previously claimed you've stated clearly many actions that should be taken to help resolve the gun problem in America and then stated several things. I found the points anything but clear or fleshed out and asked for specific clarity per point (post #1559). Are you able to give that clarity now on any or all of those points?
