Never skied at Big Sky, but going there for a week in March. Can't wait. I love Summit County, and I love the bowls at Breck. Heard lots of good stuff about Big Sky though. I've never had them be less than respecful of me. Been through the *thorough* search many times. It's never even bordered on disrespectful. I am one of those Christians who believes that people should live and let live...whether you're straight or gay or whatever. Women should have a right to elective abortion, regardless of her reasons. And I can't understand why non-believers are so dead set on trying to change my beliefs. Today I flew home from Denver. I was SO grateful for the scanner that allowed me to go through security without being touched. Either way, it's not giving up any of my rights in any way. For a grown-up, who is past the pubescent need to feel appalled at every bump in the road, I don't see this as a big issue. It's a little thing. I think there are other reasons than justifying jobs...like preventing acts of violence on airlines. Personally, I appreciate that. I have to get my "junk touched" almost every time I fly. And, even though it's annoying, I'm neither being molested nor having my rights violated. That's great! End of life planning is too often overlooked until a person is critically ill and unable to participate in decision-making. I don't know if it will play out as expected, though. I believe in science too! I'm a doctor. I rely on science every day. It's what I do. But science and religion (though I'm not particularly religious) aren't mutually exclusive. Our knowledge base is pretty small as far as the workings of the universe are concerned. What's outside of our knowlegde base, we have to make a best guess at. Whose best guess is right is an unknown today. But most of us believe something. With all the metal I have in me, I ALWAYS get the more thorough search because I'm GONNA set off the metal detectors. I expect it. Never has anyone treated me inappropriately.
