  1. Just put up a short video in the vid section of some jumps and scuba from the trip. Thanks to my jump buddies for the footage.
  2. Thanks Rich. We had a really great time. Some really fun jumps, great scuba dives and met a lot of cool people. And of course plenty of alcohol :)
  3. I'm pretty sure Capitol Skydiving is closed. I used to go there now and then but I heard awhile back that they've shut down. Best options close to Austin are Skydive San Marcos and Skydive Temple. Both are good DZ's, just depends on what you're looking for. Temple is smaller with small planes but a good vibe. SSM is a turbine DZ but more of a tandem factory. But lots of fun jumpers as well. I like them both but spend more time at SSM because I prefer the quick ride to altitude.
  4. The first half hour or so is great. Then it gets REALLY fuckin' corny.
  5. Like Dangerous Toys, but "east Texas raised". I know you, remember Watchtower? My other band....?
  6. The drums are Yamaha recording customs - their top of the line birch. The guitar rig is Diamond Amplification. Kind of like a Marshall but more expensive....
  7. I'm the guy in back on drums. I wanted to skydive into the "town" but everyone else thought that'd be pretty stupid :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1Dme7itgGY
  8. There's also gear to consider. Not all gear is safe to freefly with. Have an experienced jumper at your DZ explain this to you, as you can be seriously hurt or killed as a result of a premature deployment.
  9. Do you know the ticket prices, and if there is a registration fee?
  10. I used this book, and my total cost for the divorce was the cost of the book and filing fees. And this was with a child and assets to divide. This book spells out exactly what you need to do and how to do it, and also tells you which forms you need for your particular circumstances. It has all of the forms in hardcopy and electronic formats. I can't recommend it enough. http://www.nolotech.com/TX/dyodtx.html
  11. Cool. I used to have a Tama Superstar kit, really loved it. Here is a pic of me with my Yamaha recording customs - best_kit_ever!
  12. Good for you. What that blurb doesn't mention is the commitment and discipline required to change, once the decision to do so has been made. The decision itself is essentially meaningless without the follow through.
  13. Haven't seen that, but the part in "Dropzone" where the door opens and the guy falls out, then gets hauled in by the chick in freefall was pretty realistic. I can't even count the number of times I've seen that happen in real life.

    Spinal Tap

Make sure to tell them to do it in dubly. And they'd better have big bread in the waiting room too.
