  1. If today is an average day in the USA, some 80 - 100 people will die from gunshots today. Satisfied? Gunshots from whom? Bad guys, felons? Police, armed citizens defending themselves? If the majority of those dead from gunshots are the bad guys shor by police or armed citizens, who cares? They're dead and no longer a burden or threat. Or better yet, if they're bad guys shot by bad guys, so much the better. Good riddance. 2. I see, I don't understand the supremacy clause and you aren't willing to state it (because you don't understand it). Really? And here I thought the SCOTUS decided that is 1973 and is recognized as stare decisis. Abortion IS federally protected as per Roe v Wade, let's not be fundamental. Is it directly constitutional? No, but under the 14th Amendment it is. See, you're a typical conservative and if you like the way an issue has gone, it's thumbs up constitutional. If you disagree then it's an abomination to the Constitution. Sorry, both guns and abortion are constitutional, guns more directly. And you make my point about state's rights; connies want them to be supreme to the gov and libs want them subordinate to the fed. This is tired and age-old, but we know when small factions get too much power how shit goes and I'm just not an anarchist. SCOTUS erroneously decided that there was a Constitutional right to privacy (there isn't) and ergo, abortion was a Constitutional right. Stare decisis isn't etched in granite because activist judges (LIBERALS) create laws from the bench vice interpret law. 3. This is a few years late, but Suunto's are fine for an altimeter. I wore an Alti-3 with my Suunto Vector in freefall from 14,000 several times. No problemo! 4. Sounds great- thanx! Mack The Knife "IT IS SAID THAT THE WARRIOR'S IS THE TWOFOLD WAY OF PEN AND SWORD, AND HE SHOULD HAVE A TASTE FOR BOTH WAYS." MIYAMOTO MUSASHI, A BOOK OF FIVE RINGS.
  5. Thanx- the Aerodyne chart shows about a 1.3/1 WL (advanced)with my weight plus about 30 lbs. At the same weight, I jumped a 210SQ FT F-111 main awhile ago at Skydive San Diego, landed it and stood it up! Hurt like a SOB on both openings (jumped it twice which was two times too many!) As Zp canopies are more forgiving/tolerant/higher performing, what do you think about the Pilot 210 for my size? 6. Sunshine has 4 bundle deals (complete systems minus an AAD). The deal seems good to me price-wise. I'm thinking of going with one of these as they offer a Pilot main which seems to be a good, first main from what most of you have said. Questions: 1. Thoughts on good deal/bad deal? prices, etc. 2. How would I demo the main w/o buying the whole rig? This would be my first rig and I don't want to buy used as I don't want the hassle of finding something to fit me or have to have parts replaced. I'm 6'1" and 240 lbs "nekked". Mack The Knife "IT IS SAID THAT THE WARRIOR'S IS THE TWOFOLD WAY OF PEN AND SWORD, AND HE SHOULD HAVE A TASTE FOR BOTH WAYS." MIYAMOTO MUSASHI, A BOOK OF FIVE RINGS.
  7. As a guy who's circumcised, I don't know how valid a response for or against would be as I can't compare. So I voted "who cares" And I, like some others here, prefer no penises at all (except my own). 8. There would have to be a reason, and there isn't, to wear body armor (BA). And if BA were to be given more than a passing thought, who would decide the standards? What "threat levels" would there be, how many, etc.? On what occasions or type of dives would BA be required/mandatory? This is something that we really don't need. This question, no offense intended, came from someone ignorant of skydiving. 9. Elisha, Don't mean to sound rude myself but that was a bit of a smartass reply. By asking the question, it shows he's smart enough to question gear with age on it. Would you buy a ten year old car without asking someone's opinion? How about a ten-year old gun? What model is it, how many rounds shot through it, others experience with it, etc.? 10. What exactly is an airlocked canopy practically speaking???? Mack The Knife "IT IS SAID THAT THE WARRIOR'S IS THE TWOFOLD WAY OF PEN AND SWORD, AND HE SHOULD HAVE A TASTE FOR BOTH WAYS." MIYAMOTO MUSASHI, A BOOK OF FIVE RINGS.

    GPS Units

Garmin has it over Magellan. I've owned both (both work good) but Garmin is the champ. I have the Legend (minus the compass that the Vista has- I use my Suunto for that). Lightweight, easy to use. I prefer the monochrome screen as the newer ones with color are very hard to see in bright sunlight. And the monochromes are CHEAPER! Hope this helps.
  12. There is usually a communication problem when the pace of sexual activity diminishes. It could also be that she's got something on her mind that has all of her focus and attention. Talk to her and ask her what's on her mind- NOT why don't you want to have sex. If she opens up, she'll probably tell you what's up- a situation at work, she doesn't feel attractive lately, etc. She might not be sexually satisifed and doesn't know how to tell you. Take it slow and easy with her. It'll come to pass- if not maybe you and her aren't compatible and it's time to move on. 14. Brothers and sisters, I'm heading back to Virginia and most probably Skydive Suffolk so I'll be talking to Larry. Anyhow, I'm 6'1' and 235 lbs. I have about 80 jumps. What would be a good ZP main canopy for me given my size and low number of jumps? 7 cell, 9 cell? I will probably go used vice new as that seems to be the most popular opinion. I've heard good and bad about Sabre2's but mostly good as a first canopy. What about Spectre's? Appreciate any and all advice. 15. The Supreme Court's interpretation of the Constitution trumps yours. That is a no-brainer. My personal opinion bears no weight on anything the Supreme Court (SC) does. However, in the "Court of Personal Opinion", we can all analyze and comment on what the SC does say. We should, as should they, make decisions with intellectual honesty and integrity. Legislating from the bench, as in Roe v. Wade, usurps the other branches, especially the legislative branch authority. Whether conservative or liberal, we shouldn't be happy when what we feel to be right becomes law becuase someone bastardized the process.
