Because I feel this set up will work just fine at this location. I am for the most part done base jumping. But, since we are on the topic, will a 46" really distort my flying canopy? Or change my flare? thanks all!

are stupid or what Forrest? there are lots of important info for you how to do this and you just want to basejump with some skydiving shit...why. with 30 basejumps of experience. sure. do it.

1050ft, down the wire, climb down. winds change, you can save it for a better time. If all goes perfect, exit, track heading.... should not be a prob but if you screw up any of the 3 parameters you could be in major trouble. Never forget that it is only a sport. You need not jump in crap conditions. Ever. Only the most conservative people can consistently get close to the edge . Everything else is gambling.
    take care,

    agreed for sure.

    Outstanding footage . . .

But, regardless, if you want to help sell a crap drink to children, why are you "using" BASE jumping? You are giving away something the corporate sharks couldn’t get their hands on in a million years. Enjoy your few minutes of fame . . .

As you say when any dies its tragic loss,so please dont make it a fight or piss contest

it was not my intention to offend any one or start something like this.

i have a lot of respect for the french community and i understand why they don't talk much to the rest of the world.

from what we know here, i see one lesson:
    jumping alone is dangerous.
a survivable injury can kill you in such a situation.

Moritz my tall friend, i agree with you totally with that "jumpin by yourself thing" for example see the list "GABI".

see you soon this summer i hope

Flik'd a lowish coastal S last night with my Perigee 2/Flik 266 Vtech/46" Toxic PC. 1/2 second delay tops. Exited slightly head high if anything.

    Had a violent opening, felt like a 3+ second delay...combined with a 90 left.

Any ideas what could lead to a hard opening with such a short delay???

its a flik...really...i think you should call to Stane...the Man...

Claire, I respect your emotions and beliefs, but BASE is not snowboarding. Never has been or will be. It is a truly dangerous sport with little margin for error. In 35 years I've had over 40 friends die skydiving and BASE jumping. Every one I knew would like to be remembered as part of a very unique group of humans who really went out on the edge to enjoy life. It shouldn't be looked at as morbid at all. It shouldn't be an honor either. Just a tribute to the memory of a brother or sister that was also willing to go off the edge.
    Rick

    I totally agree.
We have to learn from others mistakes and also we have to keep the "reality" in our minds what can we and what we cannot do...thats one really good reason why that list should be there.
Also, in my opinion, if someone wants to think that this sports are safe and fades the reality of the dangers of the basejumping away, you really should print the list and read it again. Learn from it, again, and again.

I think if someone collects the death list of snowbording or some other "safer" sport, and then analyze the fatalitites...everyone can guess what are the results of that...
