  1. "filling their pockets with the green stuff" EXACTLY!!!!
  2. I'm with you...not trying to bash ALL cops, just the bad ones. And there appears to be plenty of them. A friend of mine (sorta) is a local cop, and he gave me his cell number and said, "If you ever have a problem, call me. Forget 911, our police force is pretty lousy. You can't trust them." He even told me specifically the names of some of the cops who are corrupt, that I "should avoid at all costs." Overall, I don't trust the police. When I've called them in the past for trespassers or noise complaints, they end up questioning me for the rest of the night (looking for trouble).
  3. "or like most cops I've dealt with operates at his own free will." That's been my experience with most cops. One of the ways they are "graded" is based on the number of arrests they make. Cops try really hard to catch somebody doing something illegal, just so they can make an arrest...sometimes even making something up or stretching things, like arresting your friend for conspiracy. And I think there are many cops, like the one that you had a run-in with, that think they're above the law because they wear a badge. Cops are corrupt.
  4. Yeah, I've gotta agree with you...they took "substantial steps" to whore her out. So he says...I still say it's a bunch of BS.
  5. Good point. But your friend got hosed!! According to the Model Penal Code, in order for a crime to take place, a person must DO something illegal (called "actus reus", or "guilty act"). For conspiracy, a person "must take substantial steps toward the criminal objective." Sounds to me like your buddy was just thinking out loud. Had he actually ASKED around or offered money, then yeah, that would probably be conspiracy. I doubt most people would consider thinking out loud to be a "substantial step toward the criminal objective." Relating this to the troll's whore-wannabe girlfriend, yeah, it's possible that they could get busted for conspiracy. Their best defense would be that she backed out of it. Good point, Sick_Of_It_All Edit to add: Of course, Louisiana law is whacked..they still use a lot of French law
  6. Hey Phree...I'm glad I've got the equipment now that the only SKYRIDE I have to worry about (for a while) will be the ITD!! And of course, Mr. Tom!! It'll be in the mail tomorrow, keep an eye out.
  7. The whole skyride situation was just brought back to my attention today. I looked online, but couldn't find anything new. Lawsuits tend to drag on for years (months, if lucky). But I think enough info is laid out in the complaint to form a judgement on skyride. I did a search from dzs in my state, and several popped up (as opposed to the only one that actually exists).
  8. Here's a good lawsuit review to check out: edited to add clicky (hopefully): http://homepage.mac.com/tbaiello/.Public/SkyrideComplaint.pdf
  9. Well-said, Viper, on the AR-15...mine has a pistol grip, flash suppressor, and 30-round magazine...but I can assure you that with an intruder, I'm a lot more dangerous with my 12-gauge semi-auto buckshot!! And I agree on the whole issue of "clip" vs. "magazine"...I compare that to "chute" vs. "canopy." How long do the rest of you wait for your "pilot canopy" to extract your main "chute"???? They're just words, people...if a whuffo says "chute" or "canopy," I know the difference, just as a gun-nut would know the difference between "clip" and "magazine." Not relevant to this troll's whore-girlfriend (check out the posts he's started...got a bit too much time on his hands??).
  10. So she left without showing up...how does one manage to do that???? Did she ever bang anybody in exchange for money? If not, there's no crime. A person can plan all they want to, but "planning" isn't a crime. Go to the cops, seriously...you're talking about buying a gun you can spray because you can't aim. You'll kill yourself and your girlfriend before you ever even get the chance to defend yourselves.
  11. A blonde's house catches on fire. She calls 911 and frantically screams, "Quick, please come help, my house is on fire!!" "OK, ma'am, just calm down and tell us how to get there." "DUH, big red truck!!!!"
  12. You've got to be stupid to hold in a fart...because that fart's gonna turn to SHIT!! And you can explain a lil' ol' bitty fart, but you SHIT yourself, people are gonna be talking about you for years!!
  13. South Park, Eric Cartman!!
  14. Your posts are not related to BASE, so why clutter this forum with this nonsense? That's why I wish to discuss this via PMs. But since you don't, post your number, and I'll consider giving you a call.
  15. Because I'm not gay. Sorry, find someone else to fulfull your homosexual fantasies. And respond to your PM.
  16. I don't need to know any more about Ray...his words say enough about him.
  17. Guess what, BUDDY...when people go to college, regardless of their major, they have to write papers. I guess you wouldn't know, though, junior high dropout. I am VERY FAR from being a journalism major. Just like Stella's paper, more than likely, the only person who will read my paper will be my professor, who could care less about BASE jumping. "BASE jumper with only a 7th grade education"...your spelling proves you never made it past 7th grade. And your mentality proves that of a 7th-grader. Now go flip my burgers, so you can rush over and bag my groceries, you retard.
  18. Ray, calm down buddy...this person is writing a "college paper," not something for the media. As a jumper myself, I'm writing a college research paper as a requirement for my criminal justice course concerning the illegalities involved with BASE (specifically, aerial delivery). It's for a grade...not for money. Stella seems to be innocently seeking the help of the BASE community for school...how do you think she, as a member of the general public, perceives BASE jumpers now? Or do you even care to improve the public image of BASE?
  19. I still have seizures and don't jump, but I don't think about an AAD. My first thought is a canopy collision. My second thought is my AAD firing, then I land in the middle of nowhere with my toggles still stowed, because I'm having a seizure. I say ask Dr. Freefall. Until you hear back, I say don't jump.
  20. Ask Dr. Freefall (Patrick Weldon)...he's my local neurologist, how cool is that?! I began having simple partial seizures in 1996. No biggie, they put me on meds, I started skydiving in 1997 when I turned 16, and even had one in freefall. I didn't lose consciousness BACK THEN...it was a solo jump, so I just watched my altimeter until pull time. Made 280 jumps between then and 2003. Made 13 BASE jumps from 2001-2002. August 2003...I began having LOTS of complex partial seizures...10 or so a day. Changed my meds, no help. I went to Johns Hopkins for extensive testing, including two brain surgeries in January 2004. February 2004...right temporal lobectomy (removed the part of my brain where the seizures were coming from). Still had an average of one seizure a month, but they were slowing down. That August, I made a hop 'n pop, thinking I had resumed my skydiving career. Seizures got worse and more frequent. May 2005, another right temporal lobectomy. I'm still having seizures, averaging 1-2 per month. Failed medicines, failed surgeries...I'd give my left EYE to make a skydive. I'm back in college, and I do drive. But at least I can pull over if I'm driving and feel a seizure coming on. Can't do that jumping. Life isn't the same without skydiving and BASE. It feels like a meaningless life sometimes. Hope your seizures stop, and I hope you can deal w/ not jumping better than me. Good luck.

    Age survey...

Hey, thanks you two!! Hopefully my health will one day allow me to join you again in the wonderful world of BASE!! And Jen, glad to hear that my Odyssey is doing you well...she sure left me with many great memories!!!!

    Age survey...

Started when I was 19, now 23, but feel like I'm 100...three brain surgeries last year that brought jumping to a sudden halt, with a fourth brain surgery next month. My future in BASE depends on next month, and I feel like a REALLY old man with BASE depending on the very-near and uncertain future.

    On Morbid Jokes

You're right, Zennie, this was definitely not cool. Thanks, Tom, for removing the thread.
  24. Thank you very much, Tom. Not only for your answers to my posts on Blinc and answers to my questions via e-mail...but thank you (and our former friend Dwain) for the B in you know where...it was a newbie's wet dream!!
