  1. Not a problem. I work out for a couple hours a day - cardio and weight training. The thing I was concerned about is if I needed more 4 way RW experience before attending the camp. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  2. Who has been to a 4 way RW/tunnel camp - the five day camp that includes 24 jumps with a coach, video and an hour of coached tunnel time? What I'd like to know is what was your skill level going in and how much did you improve with the camp. They're offering it at Perris and it sounds like something that would really benefit me, but first I want to talk to Dan BC and ask him if he thinks I could do one now or if I should wait until I have more 4 way experience. In the meantime I'd like to hear opinions of people who have done this sort of camp. Thanks! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  3. Congratulations! I actually had my first stand up landing on a new canopy. In the past whenever I've downsized my first jump on the new canopy has been a crash landing, so that's kind of what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised when I stood up the landing. 4. I almost always wear 13 lbs. of lead. The way someone explained it to me is that some people who are tall and thin (I'm 5'6", 120 lbs.) will always need to wear weights no matter what their body position because they don't have enough weight for their surface area. I know some people my size who don't wear weights and are fine, but I know more people my size who like me, do need weights. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  5. :4:0 Finally downsized from a Pilot 168 to a 150. Landed fine in no wind! First time I've downsized without having a crash landing on the first jump! Darcy, it was great meeting you and sharing tunnel time. Dom said my lower body position is fine now, just have to work on my "chicken arms". I'll be doing MJ's camp again next weekend. Maybe next time we'll get to jump together.
  6. You must be one of these people with willpower, something I do not posess. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  7. Killing kittens (keep your hands busy) You are sooo funny!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  8. QuoteI did a single front flip on my hop and pop. I was about halfway "down the hill" when I started to lose control and looked down, I quicky got "faith in my arch" and ended up belly to earth though.[/reply My first hop n pop I did about 10 flips before I evened out. I kept saying to myself, don't panic and amazingling after all the flips I still had like a thousand feet beore I needed to pull. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  9. Yeah, I tried that . Tastes like crap but you get used to the taste after awhile. The polish thing didn't work for me either, I'd just chew off the polish to get to the nails. I think I'm hopeless. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  10. Doesn't work. I'm a multi-task kinda person. Can chew on a straw and a fingernail at the same time. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  11. LOL. Yeah, anything designed to make us stop biting we either love or get used to. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  12. I don't shop anywhere anymore but at the gear store at the DZ. Think they're limited on their supply of shovels, axes, etc. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  13. So how did you quit the nail biting habit??? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  14. I have been a nail biter since I was a kid. My mom is one too so think maybe it is hereditary. I want to stop but have tried everything with no success. I really need to stop cuz I am at the point where I chew off all my nails then start on the cuticles, then the skin around my fingers. It hurts and looks terrible. Any suggestions? 15. OMG, I am in tears writting this and going through the exact same thing. Although our kitty Felix is only 8 years old he has kitty lukemia and aids. Although he's lived with it for the last several years each time he gets sick his recovery is slower. We took him to the vet a couple days ago and got new medication but it doesn't seem to be helping this time. Although he purrs and cuddles you can tell he is not feeling well. He's descheveled because he doesn't have the strength to clean himself and one eye is swollen shut. Not trying to take away from your grief, just want you to know that I am going through the same thing and feel your pain. I'm just thankful for the time we had with Felix. Know our lives were happier because of him and like to think his life was happier because of us. Be strong, you will get through this. And yes, be there for her at the end. You were there for her from the start, you need to be there at the end. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  16. The cover flaps willl be black for practicle purposes. I just wanted the white on the smallest parts, don't know how to explain it but you know theres the one part coming down below the flap and then a couple areas on either side. I just wanted the smaller areas, one on either side to be white. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  17. Since this thread is about drinking wine I will share with you some very useful info. My husband and I like good wines, but we also like good wine deals. My husband read an article last week about how the Charles Shaw Shiraz had come in in like the top 50 or close, don't remember the exact details in a big wine tasting of over like 2000 wines. He wanted to test it so bought some and then invited his country club buddies to a wine tasting, bring your own wine and taste each others wine kind of thing. My husband brought the $2 Charles Shaw Shiraz. Although some of our friends are kind of wine snobs, the $2 Charles Shaw was the favorite wine of the evening. So now we and our friends have cases of this stuff, and I can use the money saved for jumping. So definately check it out. They sell it at Trader Joes. 18. Designing my new container is becoming a really big ordeal. I've got several dozen samples and the one I like best has some white. I really like having a little bit of white because it seems to brighten up the color scheme. But I am also very practical so am thinking that even a little bit of white may not be good if it gets dirty real easily. I'm not talking about rolling in the dirt dirty, just the normal dirt from normal use. Any opinions/advice? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  19. Yeah, that is a great thread. I actually had previously printed the entire thread, in color, including the pics. Like you, I tend to do a lot of research before making a big purchase. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  20. Just be careful what bottle of wine you open next. One time I drank a whole bottle of wine and felt like I wanted some more, so pulled a bottle out of the wine rack at random and opened it. My husband was like, why are you drinking that now, that's a $40 bottle of wine. And at that point I don't think I could have told the difference between a $40 bottle of wine or a $2 bottle. So keep some two buck Chuck on hand for the second bottle. Have FUN!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  21. Which thread do you mean? I looked at other threads and did a search before posting this, found a lot of threads about how much people loved their Infinitys and what a great container it is. After demoing diffferent containers I've already decided on the Infinity, but just want opinions on the options. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  22. I'm getting ready to purchase an Infinity container, and I have the order form in front of me. I have some questions about the different options available and although I will ask them at Square One, I want to get as many opinions as possible. Want to know which options people went with and why. So here goes: Materials: Back pad & inside of leg pads - choice of cordura or para-pak. Main deployment: leg-mount, pull-out, BOC, rip cord. Main pilot chute: standard with hackey handle or kill-line with hackey handle. Harness: leg strap hardware - thread-thru, b-12 snaps, double wide leg strap webbing, articulated harness. Risers: Type 17 (narrow) or type 8 (wide). 3-Rings: standard, mini, stainless steel. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  23. Don't worry. I'm sure your family will come around once they realize how much you love it and how happy it makes you. My husband used to be really concerend about my safety and would come to the DZ with me when I first started to jump, but once he realized he wasn't going to have to claim my body or take me to the hospital he went back to his routine of playing golf on the weekends. Now he is really proud of my skydiving and braggs about me to all his friends. My kids didn't mind me skydiving, maybe because I've never been a conventional mom and have done a lot of other things most moms wouldn't do. My daughter did a tandem and loved it, but didn't continue due to the cost. My parents weren't surprised at all when I started skydiving since they knew it's something I've always wanted to do. They're completely supportive and look forward to my phone call on the way home from the DZ to hear abut my latest skydiving adventures. So hang in there and ENJOY! Good luck!! 24. There was a time when I didn't think I'd ever do a stable exit. One thing that really helped me in the beginning was when someone told me to look up at the plane after I exited. Just keep practing. You'll get it!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  25. Thanks Dom. I will be doing MJ's camp again on Saturday but I'd love to do the tunnel with you afterwards if you're available. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
