  1. If you will be at the DZ on Thursday, please come find us and we'll get you on some dives to get you up to speed. Please ask around for Kirsten Johnson or Kimmy. We'll be happy to make some warm up jumps with you.
  2. Conway's presence will be missed at the DZ. I will miss hearing him jokingly daring me to jump his little napkin of a canopy. Conway was a dedicated teacher and jumper. He could be counted on to motivate others to jump. Snow-in-outs will never be the same. Blue Skies Conway! We'll miss you. Blue Skies!!! Kimmy
  3. What do you have in mind? Blue Skies!!! Kimmy

  11. Alright ladies, it's time to come together and give a lucky jumper a chance to share the sky (and the plane ride) with 19 women at once! The TeXXas Pink Patch dives are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Skyfest! The plan is to make 2 to 3 20-way jumps per day between 8:00am and 1:00pm. The 20th slot on each jump will be raffled off to a lucky jumper. Each jump will have a different winner. The raffle tickets are $10 which covers the winners slot. The Pink Patch dives will also serve as warm-up dives for the Women's Texas State Record attempts that will be made on Saturday and Sunday (if needed). The current record is 28. We are sure to be able to beat it!! Okay...now that you have some of the details...WHO WANTS TO PLAY?

  21. I am picturing what you have described and it just doesn't seem like it would be comfortable. If you are flying with the soles of your feet together, you have taken away one of the most powerful tools that you have to manuever with, your legs. I too, struggled early on with fall rate. Tunnel and coaching are extremely important tools. But one that is free is your mind. I have heard many people complain about the fact that they fall so fast and can't stay up with other jumpers. Half the battle is getting that preconceived idea that you are going to go low out of your head. If you think you are going to go low...chances are you will. Eye contact with your clone is a major key that helps with fall rate. Loose that eye contact and you loose your reference. Blue Skies!!! Kimmy
  22. Here is more information: Cost is $140 for the event. This includes 6 jumps and covers the camera slot and fees. Please have this amount on your account in manifest before the event begins. The official meet time will be 8:00 AM with the announcement of teams and dive draw. Please be ready to go on a short call at 8:30. There will be a short team building seminar and big way briefing at the end of the day following the event given by World Team member Tom Jenkins. Please stick around for some very useful information. On Sunday, Tom will be organizing bigger ways for those who are interested. We will be working on some of the key basics of bigways and build up to some more challenging dives. 24. I think I will have to protest if they just happen to get drawn for the same team. I do believe that it is time that they strut their stuff in the 4-way arena and prove themselves as well-rounded skydivers (and I don't mean that in the aerodynamic sense). Blue Skies!!! Kimmy
