When the government started passing out $$ to poor people everywhere they were telling them in effect "it's OK, we'll take care of you." Fast forward. I see folks saying don't have kids you can't afford. Hehe...this system encourages having kids you can't afford. I worked in a car dealership in the inner-city back in the '90s. Regularly we would have people come in and try to finance a car who were receiving SSI or some other stipend. I can't tell you haw many times someone said they have "guaranteed income". I can't find the exact numbers. Does anyone know how long the Strategic Reserve would last us if it were released? My thoughts are we are the consumer, the biggest customer. I'd like to see a bold move on our part. Release the reserves and cut off Middle Eastern & Venzualan oil, if even for no more than a week or so depending on how far it would take us. I don't know if it's doable, or if it would ultimately have a negative impact but I get tired of these countries holding a gun to our heads. I'd also like to see Congress and the tree huggers step out of the way and let us drill for oil in our own country. Am I the only one who has a problem with the "turn it on and forget about it" posts. I don't use one. I'm old school. Opening at 3500 still feels like you're wasting freefall time But I also think if you choose to have one you can't just "turn it on and forget about it". Have you ever considered how your life would be different had you not started jumping? What if you hadn't gone to the DZ and made that first jump? For me, I probably wouldn't have divorced my first wife, at least not for jumping reasons. We would have had kids in the '80's They'd be in their late 20's now.
